Genelia D'Souza just revived the South Indian lehenga and we are obsessed!

Time of India17-07-2025
Okay, can we just take a moment to talk about how Genelia D'Souza is always serving looks? She just showed up in this gorgeous ethnic outfit and honestly, we're still not over it. She wore a beige lehenga with these super pretty multicoloured floral prints and looked like an absolute dream, think desi princess vibes with a modern twist.

The lehenga was by Gaurang Shah and made of this light khadi fabric, which gave it such a flowy, breezy feel. Perfect for twirling, honestly. The colours on the floral prints - coral, teal, mustard, green, popped so beautifully against the beige. Not too loud, but definitely not boring. It had this effortless festive feel that just worked.
Now, here's where it gets cooler, instead of draping her dupatta the usual way, Genelia gave it a South Indian spin.
She pleated it and wore it like a saree pallu, pinned over one shoulder. It was such a nice little nod to tradition but still felt super fresh.
And can we talk about her braid? Classic long braid, all dressed up with braid jewellery and wrapped in fresh jasmine (yes, gajra!). It added the sweetest touch - so soft, so festive, and honestly smelled great too, we bet.
Her makeup was also bang on, very natural, very glowy. Just a hint of blush, nude lips, neat brows, and a cute little bindi to pull it all together.
No drama, just chill glam.
Genelia always knows how to keep things elegant but real. Whether she's in a full glam gown or something ethnic like this, she makes it look so easy. We're taking notes for the next wedding we crash.
What really makes Genelia's style stand out, though, isn't just the outfits she wears, it's the way she wears them. There's this effortless charm and comfort in her vibe that feels super relatable, like your stylish friend who always looks amazing but never overdoes it.

With this look, she's once again reminded us that traditional wear doesn't have to be stiff or overly done. It can be playful, modern, and rooted in culture all at once.
From the South Indian-style dupatta drape to the jasmine-wrapped braid and subtle glam, she brought together heritage and personality in such a cool, graceful way. It's that perfect balance of timeless and trendy and honestly, it's what makes her such a fashion muse. Whether you're heading to a wedding or just want to bring a bit of desi elegance to your wardrobe, Genelia's look is total inspo.

Prabhas' Spirit track list: Film to include 6 songs and a dedicated theme for the actor?

Spirit, starring Prabhas, is expected to begin shooting this year, with Sandeep Reddy Vanga helming the project. While it was earlier reported that the musical tracks had completed their work, it now seems that the film will have 6 songs in total. Will Prabhas' starrer Spirit have 6 songs in total? According to a report by the X (formerly Twitter) handle Rangasthalam, Spirit will have a total of 6 songs. One will be a theme track for Prabhas, and another a special track likely to emphasize a flashback portion. Moreover, the other two songs will be romantic numbers set between a doctor and a cop. While it has been confirmed that Prabhas will be playing a police officer in the flick, Triptii Dimri, the female co-star, will likely be playing a doctor. However, as of now, this is just a report with makers yet to make things official. About Spirit Spirit is an upcoming action drama featuring the Rebel Star as an angry young cop. The film is expected to portray the officer's journey in ousting a mafia ring, controlling the underworld. Initially, it was reported that Deepika Padukone would be helming the female lead; however, owing to the failure of final negotiations, she had to back out. This paved the way for Animal fame Triptii Dimri to take up the role, marking her debut in South Indian cinema. While the SRV directorial was expected to go on floors from September 2025, there are speculations that it might get postponed yet again. As per a report by Gulte, Prabhas still has pending works in his upcoming releases, The Raja Saab and the tentatively titled PrabhasHanu. As Vanga is known to have actors do a single film while working with him, it seems unlikely that Spirit will begin production in September. Prabhas' next release Prabhas will next be appearing in the lead role for the horror comedy romantic film The Raja Saab. The Maruthi directorial features the tale of a carefree young man who is planning to make a fortune by flipping an ancestral mansion. However, things go south when he encounters a spirit that resides within those doors. While it is announced to release in December 2025, the film's producer highlighted that there are chances for it to be postponed to Sankranthi 2026.

'You Are Too...': Why Sanjay Dutt Told Divya Bharti's Cousin To Leave The Film Industry

Last Updated: Best known for her bold appearance in 'Grand Masti', Kainaat Arora entered the film world with high hopes and a famous connection; she's the cousin of the late Divya Bharti News18 The glitz and glamour of Bollywood often conceal the difficult roads many actors travel before, during, and after their time in the spotlight. For actress Kainaat Arora, that path has been marked by comparisons, missed opportunities, and moments of brutal honesty, even from some of the industry's biggest stars. Best known for her bold appearance in Grand Masti, Kainaat entered the film world with high hopes and a famous connection; she's the cousin of the late Divya Bharti, the tragic superstar whose meteoric rise and sudden death in the early 1990s still cast a long shadow over Hindi cinema. But for Kainaat, that relationship turned into a complicated legacy. 'If Divya wasn't my cousin, maybe I would have had a better career," she told IANS in a recent interview, adding, 'Still, I am her biggest fan." She debuted with Akshay Kumar in Khatta Meetha and later worked in multiple Punjabi and South Indian films, yet success remained elusive. Despite sharing screens with major stars and playing glamorous roles, her career never quite gained the traction she'd hoped for. Her struggle, she says, was visible to everyone including her co-stars Ajith Kumar and Sanjay Dutt who advised her to leave the film industry. Recalling her time working with Ajith Kumar in Mankatha, she said that Ajith had once bluntly told her to leave the industry. 'Ajith told me, 'Kainaat, you are too simple. You need to be fully prepared because the journey is not easy'," she told IANS. Sanjay Dutt, according to her, had given her similar advice during the early phase of her career. Even her own parents were never fully on board with her decision to pursue films. 'I didn't plan to come into this field," she admitted, adding that things just happened, and she went along with the flow. Still, not everyone in the industry tried to talk her out of it. Talking about Akshay Kumar, who she credits for pushing her to do better, Kainaat said that he was 'motivating, funny, and extremely supportive on set". The actress also addmitted to learning a lot from her other co-stars like Vivek Oberoi, Ritesh Deshmukh, Mohanlal, and Gippy Grewal. 'Even though I'm Punjabi, Gippy helped me with diction when we were shooting in the US. I've learned so much silently just by observing these amazing actors. Ritesh, for example, is incredibly spontaneous; his one-liners were often improvised, and I was just absorbing everything like a student," she said. That journey, from a small town in Uttar Pradesh to the towering sets of Mumbai and beyond, hasn't been smooth, but it has been hers. Starting with modeling in Delhi, Kainaat slowly found her way into cinema, acting in films across languages and regions. 'It's not easy to move from a small town to a big city and find your place. I came to Delhi to study and pursued a merchandising course from NIFT. One day, while crossing the road, I got a modelling offer. I never thought I'd be doing modeling while still studying. I lived in a PG hostel, and money was tight. My father was facing business issues, and we had loans," she said. Her story is far from over. But whether it's being compared to Divya Bharti or being told to pack her bags, Kainaat Arora's journey reminds us how unpredictable and demanding the film world truly is, and how some actors continue walking the road, even when everyone says they shouldn't. A Divine Collection Celebrating the Goddess in Every Woman

As the sacred festival of Varamahalakshmi approaches, Kushal's Fashion Jewellery introduces a new festive collection — a beautifully curated edit of temple jewellery in antique-finish and 92.5 pure silver where tradition meets style. Rooted in South Indian heritage, the collection features Lakshmi motifs and intricate craftsmanship, inspired by the grandeur of temple architecture. Actress Ashika Ranganath stars in the campaign, beautifully showcasing the elegance and grace of the collection. Celebrated across South India, Varamahalakshmi is a time when women pray for prosperity and family well-being. Indian attire and spiritually significant adornments take centre stage during this festival, and Kushal's latest collection offers jewellery that honours these customs while remaining versatile and wearable. As the face of the campaign, Ashika Ranganath is seen wearing a standout piece from the edit — a long beaded necklace with green stones and a medallion pendant featuring Lakshmi motifs. The look captures the essence of the collection: divinely inspired, richly detailed, and perfect for the season's spiritual celebrations. Inspired by temple carvings from South India the collection prominently features motifs of Goddess Lakshmi seated on a lotus, alongside swans, elephants, bells, and temple pillars. These auspicious symbols appear across an expansive range of pieces including necklace sets, jhumkas, bangles, waist belts, armlets, and more — allowing women to create complete looks that reflect devotion and style. Speaking on the occasion, Manish GulechhaCo-Founder, Kushal's Fashion Jewellery said 'The Varamahalakshmi collection is a tribute to the strength, grace, and spiritual essence of every woman. Crafted in antique gold finishes and 92.5 pure silver, the collection features motifs inspired by temple art and the divine presence of Goddess Lakshmi. We are delighted to collaborate with actress Ashika Ranganath, whose elegance and rootedness beautifully reflect the spirit of this festive edit.' The collection is crafted in antique-finish and 92.5 pure BIS hallmarked silver, combining traditional techniques with contemporary finesse. Antique gold-plated jewellery brings a rich, modern look rooted in culture ideal for elaborate rituals, while the silver variants offer a more refined aesthetic suited to modern festive dressing. Both finishes honour temple jewellery's timeless beauty. Speaking on the occasion, Actress Ashika Ranganath said, 'Wearing this collection made me feel deeply connected to my roots. It's not just jewellery, it's a celebration of the femininity that lives within all of us. Kushal's Fashion Jewellery has a way of blending tradition with modern style, making every woman feel truly special.' Whether worn during the Varamahalakshmi puja, gifted to a loved one, or styled for the festive season, every piece from this edit is a tribute to the inner goddess in every woman — strong, graceful, and radiant.
