Kanye West changes his name again, now reportedly Ye Ye
Kanye West is once again making headlines, this time with a name change that has left fans scratching their heads.
The rapper, who previously rebranded himself as "Ye" in 2021, has officially changed his name to "Ye Ye," according to legal documents filed in a California court.
Kanye West is once again making headlines, this time with a name change that has left fans scratching their heads.
This revelation came to light through Page Six, following filings by his chief financial officer, Hussein Lalani.
As part of the updates submitted to the California Secretary of State, which oversees essential business information, it appears that one of West's major companies has altered its reference to him in official documents.
Ye's brands - most notably the fashion label Yeezy Apparel, along with his production outfits Keezy Record Label and Getting Out Dreams - are now using the new moniker "Ye Ye" in their filings.
Despite the legal documentation now reflecting this change, the 48-year-old artist has yet to issue a public confirmation regarding his new name.
In previous interviews, West has expressed the significance of the name "Ye," describing it as a reflection of collective identity: "In the Bible, it means 'you.' So, I'm you, I'm us … I wanted something that felt with the energy," he shared in a 2018 interview with radio host Big Boy.
His evolving name doesn't appear to be the only topic generating buzz. Earlier this month, West announced on the X platform that he would cease using his original Twitter handle @kanyewest, stating simply, "Ima finally stop using the @kanyewest Twitter cause my name is Ye. Gonna start a ye account and it is what it is."

Friday the 13th: Do you suffer Friggatriskaidekaphobia?
The date has inspired novels and horror films, and is widely regarded as a day associated with bad luck. Is the eerie music from Friday the 13th movie playing on a loop in your head? Perhaps you are quivering in your shoes with fear that Jason Voorhees — the iconic masked killer from Friday the 13th — is waiting around the corner for you. Friggatriskaidekaphobia The date, which has inspired novels and horror movies, is believed to be one filled with bad luck, much like breaking a mirror, opening an umbrella inside, or walking under a ladder. If you fear Friday the 13th, chances are you might have Friggatriskaidekaphobia. The phobia can be broken up as follows. Frigg: Norse goddess for whom Friday is named Triskadekai: Latin for 13 Phobia: Fear ALSO READ: 'The Enfield Poltergeist' reignites conversations of possession, ghosts and ghouls Why the fear? There is no specific reason as to why this day is considered unlucky. In Western culture, the number 13 is often associated with bad luck. On the other hand, the number 12 is historically connected to good omens and completeness. Its successor, 13, has for long been known a sign of bad luck. National Geographic According to National Geographic Kids, the exact origins of when Friday the 13th became thought of as unlucky are unknown; however, it 'likely comes from the Christian religion.' For example, in the Bible, Judas—a person who is said to have betrayed Jesus—was the 13th guest at the Last Supper. Also in the Bible, many unfortunate things happened on Fridays. So it made sense that people who read the Bible got nervous around Friday the 13th. Apollo 13 One of the more factual events, which did not happen on Friday the 13th, was the Apollo 13 spacecraft, but it bore the number 13. Apollo 13 is famously described as a 'successful failure'. It was the National Aeronautics and Space Administration's (Nasa) third moon-landing mission, but the astronauts never made it to the lunar surface. Blasting off from the Kennedy Space Center (formerly Cape Kennedy) on 11 April 1970, the mission experienced a dramatic series of events, an oxygen tank explosion almost 56 hours into the flight forced the crew to abandon all thoughts of reaching the moon. Failed mission The spacecraft was damaged, but the crew was able to seek cramped shelter in the lunar module for the trip back to Earth, before returning to the command module for an uncomfortable splashdown. The Apollo 13 astronauts were commander James Lovell, lunar module pilot Fred Haise, and command module pilot John 'Jack' Swigert. So, while you fear the day, remember, after every Friday the 13th comes a Saturday the 14th, which can only mean one thing: the weekend is nearly upon us. Astrology and superstition collide: What this Friday the 13th means for you
For centuries, Friday the 13th has been shrouded in mystery, fear, and superstition, but maybe it is time to ditch it all. On Friday, June 13, 2025, astrology and superstition collide in a cosmic cocktail that promises not just misfortune but also transformation, opportunity, and even a touch of luck for some. For centuries, Friday the 13th has been shrouded in mystery, fear, and superstition. It's the day that sends shivers down the spines of the superstitious, a date so infamous that many hotels skip the 13th floor, airlines avoid a 13th row, and some refuse to leave their homes altogether. But this year, the narrative takes a surprising turn. Alignment With the Sun in Gemini squaring the fated North and South Nodes in Pisces and Virgo, we are invited into an emotional tug-of-war between logic and longing that calls for change. Could this be the year we reclaim Friday the 13th and turn dread into possibility? South Africans, like much of the world, have inherited the cultural baggage of Friday the 13th. From Bible stories to Norse myths, the number 13 has long been a symbol of unease. At Jesus' last supper, Judas Iscariot, the 13th guest, betrayed him. In Norse mythology, Loki, the god of mischief, crashed a banquet of 12 gods, triggering chaos and death. Even historical disasters seem to echo the superstition. On Friday the 13th in 1307, King Philip IV of France arrested hundreds of Knights Templar, resulting in torture, false confessions, and executions. Fast forward to 1972, when a plane carrying the Uruguayan rugby team crashed into the Andes on Friday the 13th. The survivors' harrowing tale of cannibalism and perseverance inspired the film Alive. Closer to home, whether we admit it or not, many of us still glance warily at calendars marked Friday the 13th, avoiding major decisions, travel, or even stepping out the door. But is it really unlucky? Across cultures, superstition surrounding the number 13 varies. In Spanish-speaking countries, Tuesday the 13th is considered unlucky. Italians fear Friday the 17th instead. In contrast, some numerologists argue that 13 is misunderstood, as a number of rebirth, transformation, and divine timing.

What rapper Kanye West has legally changed his name to
American rapper and fashion designer, best known as Kanye West, has changed his name again. Kanye West, who has in recent years opted to just be known as Ye, has allegedly claimed the shortened version of his name is so nice that he wants people to say it twice. And so, Ye Ye is born. The New York Post got hold of documentation filed in California by Hussain Lalani, Ye Ye's chief financial officer. The documents cite the artist's name as Ye Ye after he had previously been listed as Ye West after the initial change in moniker. The eccentric public figure took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share the news of this recent development in his rather tumultuous life. 'Ima finally going to stop using the @kanyewest Twitter cause my name is Ye. Gonna start a ye account and it is what it is,' he revealed. In his backpacking era, the days of soul beat Kanye, his given name was derived from the region in Botswana of the same name. The word, or his name, also had another meaning in Setswana. In changing his name to just Ye, he said, 'In the Bible, it means 'you.' So, I'm you. I'm us. It's us. It went from being Kanye, which means the only one, to just Ye.' The name Ye is so nice, he now likes saying it twice. Ye Ye recently made his Donda 2 album more readily available after initially dropping it on his pioneering stem players, which very few people cared to purchase. He is also either gearing up or still contemplating the release of the not-so-highly anticipated album, Bully, which has been in the works now for quite some time with no concrete release date settled on.
