Nancy Mace Sounds Alarm On Local Sex Trafficking Ring After Voting Against Epstein File Release

Days after Rep. Nancy Mace voted against efforts to force the Department of Justice to release documents related to Jeffrey Epstein, her call to question the prosecution of a local sex trafficking scandal is falling flat.
On Tuesday, Mace (R-SC) voted with Republicans against a procedural motion that would allow the House to vote on a measure Rep. Rho Khanna (D-CA). The measure would have required Attorney General Pam Bondi to release and publish any records or evidence related to Epstein — a call that has gained increasing momentum amid backlash to last week's DOJ memo declaring that there was "no client list."
Sharing a headline about an alleged Charleston County sex trafficking ring, Mace questioned the integrity of the justice system Thursday on social media.
"The question is, will they ever be 'prosecuted'? South Carolina's 'justice' system is completely broken," Mace wrote.
While Mace's bold social media assertions have previously invigorated her conservative MAGA base, her latest appeal to cast suspicion on the justice system drew immediate backlash.
Will anyone ever be prosecuted for anything? 6 months into Trump's term, not one damn person has been arrested and charged for anything. — Texas Strong (@TX_Lone_Star) July 17, 2025
"As broken as the Republican controlled Congress that refuses to release the Trump Pedo Files," a user wrote in response to Mace's claim that the "'justice' system is broken."
Mace was criticized for what users perceived as all talk and no action.
"You have the presidency, the House, the Supreme Court, and the South Carolina state House, yet you're here tweeting instead of doing anything," one user noted, quipping, "Maybe another photo op will help?"
Here's a thought - stop ranting about bathrooms and FIX THIS! — Matthew Causer (@drcauser) July 17, 2025
"You post all this and talk non-stop about it, then you go and vote to bury the Epstein file," another user said. "Where I'm from that's called bulls***!!!"
"So are we calling out sex trafficking or not?" was a common refrain. One user added, "You don't seem to want to call out the Trump administration regarding Epstein. Just making general statements for show."
You care about sex trafficking victims again? — Roger That (@darksidetimes) July 17, 2025
Hypocrisy was a central theme in dozens of replies, berating Mace for voting against the Epstein file release while continuing to present herself as a self-described advocate for women and children.
"Too bad everyone sees you as one of the people who voted for the cover up of s*** like this," said another, with another adding, "You're part of the problem."
"Nancy is against boys playing girls soccer, but she is protecting millionaires who molested and trafficked 14-year-old girls," a comment read, with another writing, "You are complicit in their crimes."
Don't post this while you protect pedos. Hypocrite. — lorraine morabito (@lorrmora1002) July 17, 2025
Mace has faced an onslaught of criticism since Tuesday's vote.
That afternoon she wrote, "All child r*pists should get the death penalty," which inspired the addition of a community note that said "Nancy Mace wrote this minutes after voting against the release of the Epstein files."
All child r*pists should get the death penalty. — Nancy Mace (@NancyMace) July 15, 2025
Mace defended her vote, clarifying that it was a "routine, party-line procedural vote," accusing Democrats of playing games with the attempt. However, X users shot back with the addition of other community notes, calling her dismissal of the vote as merely procedural misleading. Community members also noted that Republicans repeatedly blocked efforts to get the files released.
The uprising in Mace's replies highlights the rising tide of discontent among MAGA loyalists who expected the Trump administration to "drain the swamp."

JD Vance Revealed to a Dinner Guest What's In The 'Epstein Files', Comedian Claims

Vice President JD Vance reportedly revealed what was in the files on sex offender Jeffrey Epstein during dinner with a comedian. Comedian Tim Dillon shared that he had dinner with Vance "last week" where they allegedly talked about the contents of the Epstein files in a Monday podcast episode titled, "Emergency Podcast: The Epstein Cover-Up." Dillon relayed the dinner to the episode's guest Alex Jones, a conspiracy theorist who has repeatedly bashed the Trump administration over the handling of the Epstein files. He claimed Vance told him the files contained "commercial pornography" and that "they do not have videos of any powerful person in a compromising position." "If that's the case, why would Pam Bondi call it evidence? She's not an idiot. She's the attorney general," the comedian said. "Why would she say she has files on her desk if none of these implicated anybody?" The comedian was referring to a Fox News interview the attorney general did in February, in which she seemingly suggested that a client list connected to Epstein was "sitting on my desk right now to review." After the Department of Justice and FBI released a memo declaring that Epstein killed himself and had no such client list, the White House clarified that Bondi was referring to the files as a whole, not specifically about an alleged client list. "It just feels like they're covering something. For sure, 100%," Dillon said. "And I feel like they're telling a story, and the story doesn't make any sense." Jones previously slammed the DOJ following the publication of the report, which he called "over the top sickening" in a video to X earlier this month. "You wouldn't say all of that if you were planning to cover from the beginning. So something has changed along the way," Jones said. "It all points towards this being used to blackmail the deep state." The conspiracy theorist is not the only MAGA supporter who has turned on the Trump administration over the Epstein files. Influencer Laura Loomer called for Bondi to resign, while far-right live streamer Nick Fuentes pledged to "burn" his MAGA hat over the situation. Trump has faced continued scrutiny since the memo, which then intensified after the Wall Street Journal published a report alleging the president previously wrote Epstein a birthday message with a drawing of a naked woman. Trump has denied these claims and filed a lawsuit against the outlet over the weekend. Originally published on Latin Times

'Just Release It': Trump Pal Ron DeSantis Breaks From Admin on Epstein File Handling

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis broke from President Donald Trump's administration on the handling of the files on sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, calling for top officials to "just release it." DeSantis advocated for the release of the files and a continued push of finding and arresting others connected to the sex trafficking scandal involving Epstein and his associate Ghislaine Maxwell during a Sunday appearance on Fox News' "One Nation." "What I would say is release it and let people see. But I think there's a desire for justice because Jeffrey Epstein and [Ghislaine] Maxwell did not just do this amongst themselves. I mean, there were obviously other people involved, and yet no one's been brought to justice," he said. In February 2024, DeSantis signed a bill alongside two of Epstein's victims allowing the grand jury documents from Epstein's 2006 case, which ended with him being spending 13 months in jail after pleading guilty to solicitation of prostitution and solicitation of a minor for prostitution in 2008, to be released to the public, USA Today reported. Epstein was found dead in his cell in August 2019 after being arrested the month prior for federal sex trafficking charges. Maxwell was arrested in July 2020 for similar charges, and was sentenced to 20 years in prison in 2022 after she was found guilty. DeSantis has previously expressed support for releasing the Epstein files, pledging to "do full disclosure" while campaigning for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination in New Hampshire, Florida Politics reported in 2023. "Why do we not know about all the stuff with Epstein? You know, neither Trump or Biden were willing to [or] are willing to do that. I think that's important," DeSantis told the crowd. Epstein's new statement comes after Trump has continued to face intense backlash for his administration's handling of the Epstein files after the Department of Justice and FBI released a memo declaring that Epstein had killed himself and had no client list, going against prominent conspiracy theories. The scrutiny only intensified after the Wall Street Journal published a report alleging that Trump gave Epstein a drawing of a naked woman in a message for his 50th birthday. Trump has repeatedly denied the report and filed a lawsuit against the publication over the weekend. Meanwhile, Democrats and even some Republican lawmakers have continued to push for the release of the files, with some pushing for resolutions while others called for Trump officials to testify about the recent reports. US Justice Department Plans To Interview Epstein Accomplice Ghislaine Maxwell

The US Department of Justice is seeking to interview Ghislaine Maxwell, the imprisoned accomplice of sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, officials said Tuesday, as President Donald Trump struggles to quell a furor over the handling of the explosive case. The former British socialite is currently serving a 20-year sentence after being convicted in 2021 of sex trafficking minors on behalf of Epstein, who died in jail in 2019 while awaiting trial in his own pedophile trafficking case. "President Trump has told us to release all credible evidence" about the Epstein case, Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche said in a statement on X. The surprise announcement marked the Trump administration's latest effort to defuse spiraling anger among the Republican's own supporters over what they have long seen as a cover-up of Epstein's crimes and high-level connections. Blanche said an FBI review of the evidence against Epstein -- a wealthy financier whose powerful friends once included Trump -- had found nothing to suggest new leads. But if Maxwell "has information about anyone who has committed crimes against victims, the FBI and the DOJ will hear what she has to say," said Blanche, who was formerly Trump's personal lawyer. "No one is above the law -- and no lead is off-limits." David Oscar Markus, Maxwell's lawyer, confirmed on X that he was in discussions with the government and said "Ghislaine will always testify truthfully." "We are grateful to President Trump for his commitment to uncovering the truth in this case," Markus added. Maxwell is the only former Epstein associate who was convicted in connection with his activities, which right-wing conspiracy theorists allege included trafficking young models for VIPs. Trump's conspiracy-minded supporters have been obsessed with the Epstein case for years and have been up in arms since the FBI and Justice Department said on July 7 that Epstein had committed suicide while in jail, did not blackmail any prominent figures, and did not keep a "client list." Trump has tried a variety of measures to placate his base, including by ordering Attorney General Pam Bondi to try to obtain release of grand jury testimony in Epstein's aborted New York case. At a White House meeting with the Philippine's president on Tuesday, Trump dismissed the entire Epstein scandal as "a witch hunt." However, the president's MAGA (Make America Great Again) movement has long held as an article of faith that "Deep State" elites were protecting Epstein's associates in the Democratic Party and Hollywood -- although not Trump himself. While no evidence has emerged of any wrongdoing by Trump, the president had a close friendship with Epstein and he sued the Wall Street Journal last week after it published a story about a raunchy letter he purportedly sent to Epstein for his 50th birthday. The latest developments come just days after the federal prosecutor who handled Epstein's and Maxwell's sex trafficking cases was abruptly fired by the Trump Justice Department. Maurene Comey -- the daughter of former FBI director James Comey, a prominent Trump critic -- was dismissed on July 16 from her position as an assistant US attorney in Manhattan. The furor over Epstein has derailed business in the US House of Representatives, where Speaker Mike Johnson is sending lawmakers home early to derail demands by Democrats for a vote to release the "Epstein files." Epstein was found hanging dead in his New York prison cell while awaiting trial on charges that he sexually exploited dozens of underage girls at his homes in New York and Florida. The FBI and New York medical examiner ruled his death a suicide but the determination has done little to quell speculation in right-wing circles that he was murdered. Among those with connections to Epstein was Britain's Prince Andrew, who settled a US civil case in February 2022 brought by Virginia Giuffre, who claimed he sexually assaulted her when she was 17. Giuffre, who accused Epstein of using her as a sex slave, committed suicide at her home in Australia in April. Billionaire Elon Musk accused President Donald Trump on X last month of being in the "Epstein files" after the pair had a falling out, but he later deleted his posts.
