Daily Mirror28-04-2025

Death in Paradise star Tobi Bakare is returning to screens as Sergeant J.P. Hooper, and fans are eager to know more about the actor, including his family life
Tobi Bakare is set to return to screens as part of a Death in Paradise repeat on BBC One this week. The first episode airs tonight, April 28, at 9pm, marking the start of Season 10 re-runs, which initially aired in 2021.
The opening episode, titled Pilot of the Airwaves, follows the investigation into the death of a TV news presenter found dead in her pool.

DI Neville Parker, played by Ralf Little, suspects the presenter's co-host is behind the murder. Tobi Bakare stars alongside Little as Sergeant J.P. Hooper in Season 10, which also happened to be his last.

The 36-year-old Londoner has since appeared in a couple of Outlander episodes as Walter Woodcock and lent his voice to the video game character Sam Green in The Casting of Frank Stone.
Fans were also delighted to see Bakare reprise his role as J.P. Hooper in the latest season of Death in Paradise, where he becomes embroiled in a murder investigation involving a former student. On the possibility of a full-time return to the show, Bakare commented: "I'm a big fan of the show and I would always be open to having discussions because it's just a good show.
"At this present moment, my kids are growing up, I'm getting to see them consistently.
"It's like you have a garden, there are different types of seeds – you have a career, you have your money, you have your family, you have your businesses.
"And sometimes, you've just got to water a particular seed a little bit more, and I'm still watering the seed of family, while not adding any more seeds [laughs]."

The Insta-famous Tobi keeps his followers in the loop with updates on his latest projects, including his role in the stage play Dear Father.

He dropped a cryptic hint about the play's emotional depth: "Some wounds never heal, and some truths are too heavy to carry."
Elaborating on his upcoming performance, he shared: "Watch Adenike @idia.aisien and Uche (ME) navigate love, lust, regret, and redemption in Dear Father, The Stage Play.
"Will they find their way back or remain lost forever? Come experience the drama LIVE on stage in London from June 12-14, 2025."
Moreover, he has melted hearts with delightful snapshots and clips featuring his children, the adorable bunch he parents alongside his wife Prisca.
