Premier League club Tottenham picked up a 1-0 win over Manchester United at the San Mames on Thursday to clinch the UEFA Europa League title.

The Welshman, who has enjoyed an incredible campaign under Postecoglou, put the finishing touch on a move created on the left by Rodrigo Bentancur's movement to attract a couple of United players to himself before releasing the ball to Pape Sarr, who tossed one into the box to trouble the United back line. The Senegalese international's intentions turned out fortuitous for Spurs, who took the lead with Johnson bundling the ball into the net beyond Andre Onana. It might have come off Luke Shaw, but the lilywhites edged ahead in the summit clash.
Spurs took the slender lead into the break and looked reassured of the advantage following the resumption of play. United went closest to levelling when Rasmus Hojlund's headed effort cleared off the line by Mickey Van De Ven.
United also had to endure the sight of Guglielmo Vicario keeping Shaw's headed effort deep into second half stoppage time, before Casemiro's Hail Mary bicycle effort found the wrong side of the net in the final knockings of the game.
Tottenham skipper Heung Min-Son, who replaced Richarlison in the second half of the fixture, lifted the trophy in front of the thousands of travelling Spurs fans as Postecoglou kept his promise of delivering trophies in his second season up.

June 5 - Ivan Toney said he never had any doubts about his chances of an England recall following his move to the Saudi Pro League after the free-scoring Al-Ahli striker returned to the squad ahead of Saturday's World Cup qualifier against Andorra. The 29-year-old, who last featured for England in their 2-1 defeat by Spain in the Euro 2024 final last July, was banned for eight months in 2023 for breaching the FA's rules on betting. He moved to Al-Ahli from Premier League club Brentford last August and has scored 30 goals in 44 appearances in all competitions for the Saudi side.
