"Cong shares Pakistan's delusion": BJP hits back at Opposition leader's remarks on Op Sindoor

India Gazette21-05-2025

New Delhi [India], May 21 (ANI): Bharatiya Janata Party spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla on Wednesday attacked Congress leaders for their comments on Operation Sindoor, India's response to the Pahalgam terror attack, accusing the party of behaving like the Public Relations department of the Pakistani forces.
'The incoming drones sent by Ghulam Ahmad Mir and Vijay Wadettiwar make it seem that the Congress party is behaving more like DG ISPR (Inter-Services Public Relations). It looks like the Congress party has taken the onus on themselves to create content for Pakistan since Pakistani YouTubers' and influencers ' shops have been shut down in India,' Poonwalla attacked Congress during a press conference in Delhi.
The remarks came amidst Wadettiwar claiming that India used missiles worth Rs 15 lakh to shoot down Pakistan's China-made drones only worth Rs 15 thousand. Ghulam Ahmad Mir had claimed that Operation Sindoor was merely a 'minor activity' during a public meeting.
The BJP spokesperson accused the party of being propagating Pakistan's narrative, and 'sharing the delusion' that the Pakistan army won during the increased hostilities at the border.
'Congress is clearly assisting Pakistan to propagate its narrative. Congress shares Pakistan's delusion that the Pakistan army won,' he said.
Poonwalla further challenged the Congress to show how the party had responded post the 26/11 terror attacks, adding, 'Why don't they tell the world the big moves they made after 26/11? 'Sena ka apman, yahi Congress party ki ban chuki hai pehchan; maano Congress aur Pakistan do shareer ek jaan.'
Earlier, Congress' Wadettiwar alleged, 'There are discussions that they (Pakistan) launched 5,000 China-made drones and the value of each drone was Rs 15,000. To destroy each drone worth Rs 15,000, we launched missiles worth Rs 15 lakh. This was a part of China's tactic, these are the discussions, however I don't know the truth.'
India launched Operation Sindoor on May 7 as a decisive military response to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack in which 26 people were killed. Indian Armed Forces targeted terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir, leading to the death of over 100 terrorists affiliated with terror outfits like the Jaish-e-Mohammed, Lashkar-e-Taiba and Hizbul Mujahideen.
After India's strike on terror infrastructure, Pakistan responded with cross-border shelling across the Line of Control (LoC) and Jammu and Kashmir, as well as attempted drone attacks targeting civilian areas along the border regions. In response, India neutralised Pakistani air defence apparatus, radar infrastructure, and communication centres, and inflicted heavy damage across 11 airbases in Pakistan.
An all party delegation is also set to be sent to various countries to brief them about India's zero-tolerance policy on terror and expose Pakistan's support for terrorism. (ANI)

Residents of 18 villages to observe bandh today to oppose merger into KMC limits

Kolhapur: Residents of 18 villages and two MIDCs slated for merger into Kolhapur municipal limits would observe a ' bandh ' on Tuesday, saying they would approach the Bombay high court for a stay if govt tried to impose the merger on them. Besides, they plan to boycott upcoming elections and bar administrative officials from entering their areas. Members of the All Party Anti-Merger Action Committee held a press conference at the Kolhapur Press Club, criticising the proposed merger. They taunted minister Hasan Mushrif for suggesting that if govt wanted to merge certain areas into Kolhapur civic limits, they should also include Kagal in the proposal. Kolhapur Municipal Corporation had sent a proposal to state govt to merge Shiroli, Nagaon, Valivade-Gandhinagar, Mudshingi, Sarnobatwadi, Gokul Shirgaon, Pachgaon, Morewadi, Ujlaiwadi, Balinge, Kalamba, Uchgaon, Vadipir, Ambewadi, Vadange, Shiye, Shingnapur, Nagdevwadi, besides Shiroli and Gokul Shirgaon MIDCs, into the municipal limits. President of the anti-merger committee and Uchgaon sarpanch Madhukar Chavan, said, "Public representatives who have no connection with the merger are seen more interested in it. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Memperdagangkan CFD Emas dengan salah satu spread terendah? Ujlaiwadi sarpanch Uttam Ambavdekar said, "The urban development authority established for 42 fringe villages adjoining Kolhapur city hasn't received a single rupee for the last several years. As demanded by MLAs Chandradeep Narke and Amal Mahadik, the Kolhapur Urban Development Authority should be provided Rs 2,000 crore to develop 42 villages. Once it is done, we can think of merger." A meeting on the proposed merger is likely to take place in Mumbai on Tuesday in the presence of CM Devendra Fadnavis, guardian minister Prakash Abitkar, Mushrif, along with all MLAs and MPs from the district.

We are public servants, not rulers: Rajnath to BJP leaders

Bhopal: Defence minister Rajnath Singh on Monday gave the valedictory address, concluding the three-day training camp for BJP MLAs, MPs, and ministers from the state. This was the defence minister's first visit to Madhya Pradesh after the success of Operation Sindoor . He said that MPs and MLAs should always remain connected with the organisation because the organisation was there even when the party was not in power. "Respect the workers and listen to them, because the real strength of BJP is the trust of the people and the hard work of the workers," Rajnath Singh said. "Serving the people is in our DNA, we are public servants, not rulers. Win the trust of the people and reach out to them first in times of crisis. Keep your thinking big, expand your vision. Work towards nation-building by taking the ideology of great men forward. Our aim is not to gain power, but to serve the people, so we never compromised on our ideas," he said. "Nation-building and ideology are of utmost importance for us. The ideal worker of Madhya Pradesh is one who never crosses the limits," he said. The Union defence minister said that the tradition of training in the BJP is continuous. "It is a part of the party's working style. Today the BJP is the largest party and has a distinct identity. But three things did not change in this development journey of the party. These are training, cultural nationalism, and the spirit of poor welfare," Rajnath Singh said. He said that the training camp is an opportunity for elected representatives to understand and assimilate the ideological journey of the party, and to introspect. Former BJP National President Rajnath Singh said that former Prime Minister and party patriarch Atal Behari Vajpayee said that the purpose of attaining power should only be for national service. Rajnath Singh also told the senior BJP leaders' congregation, "Do politics with decency, humility, and determination and remember that we are not just going to make or change laws, but also change people's lives. The post you got is really a big responsibility. It is for public service. It is to make India a powerful, developed, and inclusive nation." The Union defence minister said, "Developed India is not our goal, but our resolve. The country is moving towards self-reliance in every field."
