
Targeted shooting incident under investigation on Emerald Road
At 2:25 a.m. Friday, police were called by a citizen who reported hearing what they believed to be the sound of several gunshots in the area of Emerald and Chelton roads.
Officers arrived and located evidence confirming multiple shots had struck a vehicle and garage door of a residence on Emerald Road.
Police said no residents or citizens in the area were struck. No injuries were reported.
'The London Police Service acknowledges incidents involving firearms can create understandable community concern. We remain fully committed to conducting a thorough investigation and maintaining public safety,' said police in a news release.
The investigation has been reassigned to the LPS Guns and Gangs Section, who are actively following up on all leads.
Investigators believe the incident was not a random act and was targeted at the residence.
Investigators are appealing to anyone who may have information in relation to the investigation or may have been in the area of Emerald Road between Chelton and Lighthouse roads between 2 a.m. and 3 a.m. this morning, who may have dash-cam, residential or business video surveillance that could assist with the investigation, to contact the London Police Service.
Anyone with information in relation to this incident is asked to call the London Police Service at (519) 661-5670 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477). Information can also be sent in online anonymously to London Middlesex Crime Stoppers.

Kitchener man facing second-degree murder charge in Dundas shooting death

Emergency responders received multiple 911 calls about gunshots in the area of 77 Governor's Road in Dundas on July 27 around 5 p.m. When police arrived, they found an unresponsive man, 27-year-old Zachary Shuman. He was pronounced dead shortly after. Investigators identified two suspects in the case and arrested a 30-year-old man from Dundas on Aug. 10 and a 27-year-old Kitchener resident on Aug. 11. They have both been charged with second-degree murder. Police say both people they arrested knew the victim.

SIU called in after fatal shooting near Turkey Point marina

He said members of the OPP Marine unit attempted to stop a boater who had entered the marina before running off. The canine unit was called in to find the person. 'During the interaction, police discharged a firearm,' Sgt. Sanchuk said. 'The individual was pronounced deceased.' The SIU is called in to investigate all incidents involving police where there has been death, serious injury, discharge of a firearm at a person or allegations of sexual assault.

1 dead, 1 arrested after apartment shooting in Abbotsford, B.C.
Police in Abbotsford, B.C., say a man is dead and another is in custody after a shooting at an apartment building. Abbotsford police say the incident happened at around 4 p.m. PT Monday in the 30400-block of Cardinal Avenue, where officers responded to a call reporting a shooting. Police say officers at the scene found the incident took place in one unit in the apartment complex, and the male victim had already died. Another man found at the scene was arrested, and police say there is no ongoing danger to the public. Abbotsford police say they are in the process of transitioning the case to the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team, and no other information has been released.
