THE explosive fight between hardman actor Danny Dyer and ex Towie star Mark Wright was the talk of V festival back in 2016, I remember it well.
The brawl resulted in both parties having to keep a wide berth, Danny having a black eye and wife Jo hiding in her tent, as they were supposed to be celebrating their stag and hen dos.

I remember Jo telling me at the time she just wanted to enjoy headliner Justin Bieber.
But when I saw Danny, now 47, jubilant after having just won a prestigious gong, chatting away to Mark's sister Jess, 39, in the smoking area at the Bafta TV awards earlier this month, it was clear that the decade-long rift between the two influential families was over.
Now, in an exclusive interview with Danny's missus Jo, she has revealed that it is in fact friendly Jess, a mainstay on the showbiz circuit, who has helped smooth over the rift.
She explained: 'There is no beef with them. We don't see them, but Danny has seen Jess a lot.
'He sees her at the gym and he saw her at an event a couple of weeks ago and Jess was there and they were cool, they speak. There is nothing there.'
Not only is Jo happy for Mark and wife Michelle Keegan's new baby, but she loves their choice of name so much she wishes daughter Dani had named one of her granddaughters Palma.
She said: 'Do you know what I love? I love the name Palma. I said to Dani, 'Oh my god, why did we not name your little girls Palma. That's where my dad is from.'
Peacemaker Jess and Danny's eldest daughter Dani, 28, who is due to marry West Ham Utd star Jared Bowen later this year even follow each other on Instagram and regularly message.
Nowadays the pair are much more family friendly with Mark presenting his own show on Heart FM, and Danny starring in corporate Disney+ drama Rivals.
A showbiz insider tells me: "Danny and Mark have both grown up a lot since the clash and don't have any bad blood. In fact, quite the opposite, they're both family men, who look out for their own and have a fair bit of respect for each other.
Sunnie Dyer: How Danny Dyer's Daughter Is Forging Her Own Path
"They're both self made and work hard to support their families. Danny thinks Jess is sweet as she always makes an effort to say hi and has a smile on her face.
"They live fairly near to each other in Essex and see each other's clan at showbiz parties.
"That's no bad blood, but that's not to say there wouldn't be a bit of banter on the football pitch if they ever get reunited at a charity football match, they both love football and have played for Soccer Aid before.
"Essex blokes are always going to be full of bravado, but you can count on the women to be the peacemakers and smooth things over."
Their bitter feud erupted over a decade ago, when movie hardman Danny, the Dyers' patriarch, bad-mouthed Mark during a 2013 interview while noting his utter disgust at once being mistaken for him and mocking his rival's lofty acting ambitions.
Mark's not up my street. He'll never be a mate of mine. Good luck to him, just stay away from me
Danny Dyer
Danny said: 'I got mistaken for Mark Wright once. In a café. It put me right off my beans.
'I don't know him, but he's everything I hate about this whole celebrity world.
'It's mainly because of some of his quotes saying he wants to be the next James Bond. If he's the next James Bond, it's over for me. It's the arrogance of it all — it irritates me.'

He added: 'Mark's not up my street. He'll never be a mate of mine. Good luck to him, just stay away from me.'
Years later, during a charity football match, the fallout turned physical after Mark slapped Danny in a changing room.
The ugly altercation was made public by Mark's brother Josh, who reacted to Danny having a fresh pop at the ex-Towie star, who is also a DJ on HeartFM and appeared in adverts for a yoghurt brand.
Writing on Twitter, he joked: 'My worst nightmare would be listening to Heart FM while eating an Oykos yoghurt. It would be like p***ing razor blades.'
Ex-footballer Josh replied: 'You must still be hurting from when Mark gave you a slap in the changing room that day. Get over it you melt.'
Danny then informed his followers that the slap happened at a 'charity football match for terminally ill children' and accused Mark of hiding behind his dad after the slap.
He added: 'What a geezer. My bird hits harder.'
Josh replied: 'Not sure it happened like that mate, you ran your mouth as always and pushed him into corner so he protected himself by slapping you.'
Danny responded: 'We all know what happened. He took a bang liberty. End of. He ain't a bit on me. Crack on.'
Mark only got away with it, Danny said, as 'there was kids waiting outside with months to live'.
But animosity between the pair really blew up in the battlegrounds of Chelmsford, at the 2016 V Festival, when the former EastEnders' favourite was attacked by five of Mark's pals in front of his daughter Love Island Dani, who was just 20 at the time, shocking fellow revellers swigging free booze in the event's notorious Louder Lounge VIP section.

'Complete carnage'
Danny was enjoying his joint stag and hen do ahead of his wedding to wife Jo, 48, and was left with a nasty black eye. Mark was in the toilet at the time.
The fight was allegedly sparked by Dani, who called Mark a 'c***'.
A witness said: 'I saw a young woman shouting at three men, calling them c***s over and over again.
'She was screaming, 'Mark Wright is a c***!'
'Then Danny came round the corner to intervene and I saw him throw a punch at one of them.'
Danny's onscreen son on EastEnders, Danny 'Boy' Hatchard, piled in and started throwing punches, as Dani continued with her verbal attack.
Another eyewitness described the scenes as 'complete carnage'.
Danny is not an aggressive person. He wouldn't have wanted to fight anyone. They've ganged up on him
Jo
Speaking about the incident at the time Jo said: 'Danny is not an aggressive person. He wouldn't have wanted to fight anyone. They've ganged up on him.
'There were five guys against one and Danny still went for them. But the most f***ing disgusting thing is it was all in front of my 20-year-old daughter. They're a bunch of talentless Essex t***s.'
Mark attempted to play down the fight on social media, but Danny hit back: 'No. True. Where was ya?? Do you wanna declare who ya snakey 2 Bob mates are??
'Especially the 1 squaring up to my Dani. No daughter should have 2 see their old man being toe-punted in the nut by 5 complete p****s.'
Later, Danny shared a picture of Mark and a group of his friends, with the caption: 'Friends eh. How to ruin ya pals career before it had even started. Legends. Other than that I had a proper night. X.'
Maybe we'll see them supporting their beloved West Ham together soon...

Sophie Habboo hits back after cruel backlash and nepotism accusations over her new Radio 1 job with Jamie Laing

Sharing an expert from an i article to Instagram, Sophie wrote on her Stories today: "Thank you @carsonsarah @theipaper. "I've been reflecting on my first week of Radio 1 and it's been such a surreal experience to connect with the nation. I love it!!!" Chief Culture Writer Sarah Carson had praised Sophie in her opinion piece, claiming - while her hiring may not be "fair - the reality star still "deserved" her place. Advertisement She wrote: "The primary function of Radio 1 in the afternoons is providing a bit of distraction, energy, and silliness as people leave work or school. "It's not supposed to be challenging, or specialist - it's low-stakes, unwind, chatty stuff that needs someone sparky on the mic between the pre-made playlists. "Habboo is likeable, a sharp wit, withering, quick to laugh, and sweet. She's smart, comfortable being open about her relationship, self-effacing, and happy to indulge a bit of nonsense (she needs to be, being married to Laing). "She feels like a friend - the kind who gives you tough love while giving your arm a gentle squeeze - and she's got charisma. That counts for a lot more than skill and experience in this landscape." Advertisement Her comments were a far cry from some listeners, who had slammed the latest hiring by bosses. On the official social media account of BBC Radio 1, fans flocked to the comments section as they claimed the station has "fallen" in standards. Vick Hope finally reveals pregnancy - and date she's going on maternity leave from BBC Radio One One disgruntled listener fumed: "How far we've fallen from Vick and Jordan…" A second exclaimed: "There is something really gross, about two such privileged and independently wealthy (the Laings)given access to prime time national radio shows over people who have trained and studied for years in media." Advertisement "Please get some good DJs back in the drive time slot. It's getting embarrassing," stated a third user. While someone else raged: "Wealthy Reality stars just being handed roles for nothing now. They're sooo unrelatable." And a fifth added: "Im a big radio 1 fan but shouldve been jerry .....jamie and sophie is a bad move be a switch off for me sorry." Many longtime fans of the station directly blamed bosses for a decline as they hired "influencers". Advertisement They slammed the decision not to look for upcoming talent or give the role to an existing cover presenter who has trained for the job "for years". Another fan noted: "Where is the dislike button? "There are so many hard working and capable presenters covering gigs on R1 atm, how undermining that they weren't given the chance to show the listeners what they're capable of!!" Someone else agreed" "Really glad I'm not the only one who was disappointed by this update. Advertisement "It really doesn't sit right with me when there's people trying so hard to get a break. It's a no from me I'm afraid." Please get some good DJs back in the drive time slot. It's getting embarrassing Radio 1 fan While another added: "I think I'll be finding a different radio station to listen to for my 'going home' slot in the week now. "Something just doesn't sit right with me, that his wife has got the job… when there must be some amazing local talent & those that have worked really hard in the industry that will have been overlooked for celebrity privilege…" One more fan stated: "Radio 1 turning into a constant influencer podcast.. what happened to actually knowing music to being a radio DJ! Many years of listening, only holding on for Greg! Time to switch!" The lyrics she used were: "And I don't want the world to see me." It comes after we told of Dan's raucous nights out with newly single Christine while Dan was still building bridges with Jac over previous cheating claims. A pal told The Sun: 'Dan and Christine have known each other for years. 'Their friendship goes as far back as 2019, when Jac was heading Down Under to the I'm A Celeb jungle, when they had a brilliant night out at a fund-raising gala in London. 'They stayed in touch sporadically and would bump into each other at events and their messages got pretty flirty. 'Some were seen by mutual friends. 'She would call him 'D' in texts and it became an open secret among their circles. 'There is no suggestion anything sexual happened, but it's fair to say there was a spark between them.' Our source said the pair met at London's The Hoxton hotel in March 2023 — a year after Christine called time with Paddy, 51. How Christine McGuinness & Dan Osborne 'comforted each other' amid marriage breakdowns, had hotel meet & flirty nickname And the following month, she cheered him on at a celebrity football match in Cheshire. They also partied together at a restaurant called Habbibi in Leeds. Dan moved out of the family home briefly earlier this year as their marriage hit the rocks once again. But they jetted off on a make or break holiday and looked to be patching things up. Their relationship has suffered countless cheating allegations over the years. In 2019, Dan confessed publicly to having made 'mistakes'. He said: 'I've done things I shouldn't have done.' And Jac said she had "given him hell" over the allegations.

'I haven't got that worried about it the last six weeks or so – I haven't even been to see anyone, just a pharmacist. 'But today I've taken myself to eye casualty and I'm so emotional about it because it hurts and Matt is working away and my whole family – apart from me – are on holiday t.'* She added: 'But I've pulled myself together and come to the hospital. 'Everything is swollen & my eyes have puss [sic] coming out of them!' Shona said her day started trying not to cry but it quickly spiralled. 'I started the day trying not to cry and ended up spending my day crying,' she admitted. 'I've left eye casualty now – I wasn't actually there for long – but I cried again because she said I can't use anything on my face. 'And I cried again because I've got my acne under control with the skincare I use and I just imagined that all going back to where it was before.' The telly favourite said she left the hospital with no prescription, but a firm warning to ditch her current eye drops. MAFS' Shona hits back at trolls who branded her promise ring 'pointless' after reunion 'proposal' 'They said not to take the antihistamine drops the pharmacist gave me, to continue taking the Chlorphenamine tablets (drowsy antihistamine tablets) and just put a cold compress on till the swelling goes down.' Doctors also advised her to avoid putting anything on her face and figure out what she might be allergic to. The reality star found fame on Married at First Sight UK in 2023 but left the show early because of her unhealthy relationship with Brad Skelly. She met her boyfriend Matt Pilmoor soon after through the show. The Sun told how Shona had found love with Matt, despite tying the knot to different people on the series. Matt married Adrienne Naylor, but the pair struggled to hit it off straight away. A REAL WEDDING Matt told OK! Magazine: 'We definitely want to get married. Getting married abroad would be lovely but, logistically, we would do it in the UK for family coming and stuff like that.' Shona continued: 'Yeah, we've spoken about getting married. Matt has said he will wear a kilt because my family are Scottish. We would get married here in the UK and have an amazing honeymoon, maybe in Bali. We've spoken about engagement rings, we just need the money first.'
