Gogglebox fans all say same thing as Jenny shares photo of rarely-seen husband
Viewer of the hit Channel 4 show Gogglebox were left stunned after fan favourite Jenny Newby offered a rare glimpse of her husband, Ray. Jenny - who celebrated her 70th birthday earlier this year - and Lee Riley both joined the beloved show back in 2014, and it didn't take too long for them to become firm favourites.
Over the years, the Hull-based duo, who have been best friends for over 25 years, have had Gogglebox viewers in stitches thanks to their hilarious one-liners and strong bond.
Away from the show, Lee enjoys a loving relationship with partner Steve, whilst Jenny has been married to husband Ray for 50 years. And earlier this week, Lee left their fans shocked after he shared a rare snap of the pair the Manchester Evening News reports.
Taking to their joint Instagram account, Lee revealed it was Jenny and Ray's 50th wedding anniversary, sharing a photo of the couple from their special day in 1976.
Along with the throwback snap, the caption read: "Wishing my sidekick Jenny and Ray a happy 50th golden wedding anniversary who gets the medal."
Fans were quick to rush to the comment section to congratulate the couple. Some supporters gushed over the photo, however, many become fixated on Ray's impressive sideburns.
One fan hilariously declared: "Ray should get a medal for those sideburns alone. Epic." Another fan agreed, writing: "Was thinking the same."
A third then chimed in: "Jeez them sideburns have a life of their own." Echoing their thoughts, someone else jokingly wrote: "Bloody hell, look at those side burns. You could ski down them."
While others opted for a simple "congratulations" message, with a fifth fan writing: "Happy Anniversary Jenny And Ray. Have a day full of fun and laughter, which am sure with you Jenny it will be."
Lee and Jenny have been friends since 1994, when they first met at the pub where Jenny was a landlady.
Previously speaking about how they met, Jenny shared with Ireland's Big Issue magazine: "Lee was a customer at my pub, The Crown Inn in Paull. He became a regular in 1994 and used to come in pretty much every night with his partner and we were friends from the off. We've been best friends ever since."
Lee added: "I wish I've never gone in the pub – it cost me a fortune. When I first met her she had a perm and I can remember thinking, 'She needs a haircut'. We were firm friends immediately."
"I don't think we've ever had an argument. We're too placid to argue. She makes me laugh too much for me to ever fall out with her."

A gallery show of rare Keith Haring drawings is popping up in this NYC suburb
Move over, Manhattan. This month, one of New York City's most iconic street artists is taking over a dining room with views of it. From today, August 6 through Friday, August 29, Kanopi —the modern Portuguese-inspired fine-dining spot perched 42 floors above White Plains, will trade its sweeping Hudson-to-Manhattan panoramas (well, most of them) for something a little more underground: Rare 1980s Keith Haring subway drawings. The pop-up exhibition, HARINGS!, is a collaboration between Kanopi and Greenwich-based Trimper Gallery, transforming the restaurant into a gallery lounge and immersive listening room. Lining the walls will be Haring's bold, black-and-white chalk drawings, originally scrawled on blank advertising spaces in New York's subway stations, where millions could encounter them on their daily commute. Chef Anthony Gonçalves, a James Beard Award semifinalist who grew up steeped in New York City nightlife, is pairing the visual art with a soundtrack worthy of a downtown club in its prime. The curated playlist runs while guests take in Haring's kinetic, high-energy figures—proof that even in a white-tablecloth setting, his work retains every ounce of its street-level buzz. Of course, it wouldn't be Kanopi without food worth lingering over. The HARINGS! menu riffs on cosmopolitan indulgence: a towering seafood platter with oyster, lobster, tiger shrimp and hand-picked crab; a luxe Mishima Reserve wagyu katsu sando; sourdough flatbreads topped with anchovy, oregano-roasted yeast butter and lardo; and tempura in two directions—seasonal Hudson Valley vegetables or tiger shrimp in almond beer batter. Save room for desserts like playful Japanese milk ice cream sundaes with bourbon caramel and cookie crumble or fruit ice-pops in rotating flavors. HARINGS! marks the third creative pairing between Kanopi and Trimper Gallery, following showcases of work by photographer Tyler Shields and painter Lincoln Townley. This time, Gonçalves says, the collaboration felt like a natural evolution, melding the restaurant's refined intimacy with the raw pulse of 1980s New York. For art lovers, it's a chance to see original Haring works without trekking into the city (or fighting for elbow room in a packed museum). For diners, it's proof that fine dining can be just as adventurous as a late-night gallery crawl. And for anyone nostalgic for the days when you could stumble on great art between subway stops, it's a rare opportunity to sit with it, glass of vinho verde in hand.

Destination X viewers left distracted by 'naked people' as new clue exposed
BBC viewers were left distracted by a group of totally nude people during Wednesday night's instalment of new reality show Destination X Destination X returned to BBC One on Wednesday evening (August 6) with yet another gripping episode, though viewers were utterly perplexed by one particular moment. Host Rob Brydon is currently guiding a team of participants across various European destinations with a single mission - to work out their location using solely the hints collected from tasks in each programme. Throughout the reality series so far, contestants have already explored Paris in France, and Switzerland's iconic Matterhorn whilst travelling aboard the mysterious blacked-out coach. However, in the coming episodes, additional players face elimination from the journey if their guesses prove too inaccurate when pinpointing their position on the map. The final remaining contestant will claim an incredible £100,000 jackpot. In Wednesday's episode, participants journeyed by rail through stunning rural landscapes in an undisclosed nation, reports the Manchester Evening News. Their challenge involved sampling local cuisine and deciphering transport tickets written in foreign languages to unlock clues about their next stop. Yet as their train crossed a bridge, a small gathering of individuals could be spotted beside a camping structure, apparently without any clothing whatsoever. The group appeared to be observing the passing locomotive and gesturing enthusiastically as it sped by, leaving players amused. Destination X audiences were completely mystified by this bizarre sequence, with one viewer posting on X: "Dying at the naked people just casually waving #DestinationX." One fan couldn't contain their excitement, exclaiming: "Nude! #DestinationX", while another quipped about the contestants' reaction: "It was at this point that the contestants asked for the windows to be frosted over again.." Speculation ran rampant as one viewer pondered: "Could this weeks Destination X be Copenhagen? Red Shoes on the football magazine could refer to The Red Shoes by Hans Christian Anderson, and naked people Emperors New Clothes? #DestinationX". Meanwhile, another fan found humour in the unexpected, joking: "#DestinationX didn't expect to see a man waving his sausage". The third destination of the show was later revealed as Munich in Germany. Destination X currently airs every Wednesday on BBC One and is available to catch-up on iPlayer
