3 people arrested after drugs, stolen guns found inside Athens home
ATHENS, Texas (KETK) — Three people were arrested Tuesday afternoon after a large amount of marijuana and other illegal narcotics were discovered in a home near Athens.
Man arrested after throwing out bag of illegal narcotics at Cass County Family Dollar, police say
According to the Henderson County Sheriff's Office, around 2:50 p.m. narcotics investigators searched a home in the 2300 block of County Road 3718 near Athens and found seven different types of illegal drugs, five firearms with two being stolen from Arlington and Grand Prairie and a large amount of cash.
The different illegal drugs that were found by investigators were:
Marijuana
Cocaine
Crack cocaine
Fentanyl pills
Morphine pills
Xanax pills
Bottles of promethazine that are labeled for RX only
Man accused of attempted murder at Nacogdoches law firm, documents show
Officials said Isaac Antwon Darty, 26 of Athens was found in possession of a large amount of marijuana that was packaged in several different size bags for sale. Breann Danyelle Oneal, 27 of Dallas and Cesar Armondo Ornelas, 19 of Athens were also found inside the home.
All three people were arrested and taken to the Henderson County Jail for the following charges:
Darty: Four counts of manufacture or delievery of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana, two counts of theft of firearm and active warrants.
Oneal: Active warrants
Ornelas: Possession of marijuana

NJ man beat, strangled pregnant wife in front of her daughter: court documents
NEW JERSEY (PIX11) — A man has been found guilty of strangling his pregnant wife in front of her daughter in Newark, N.J., the prosecutor's office of Essex County announced Friday. Milton Chogllo, a 31-year-old from Newark, was found guilty by a jury of second- and third-degree aggravated assault, according to court documents. More Local News According to an investigation on March 5, 2023, Chogllo strangled and beat his 32-year-old wife outside their home on Bergen Street. At the time of the assault, the victim was six months pregnant, authorities said. The woman's 14-year-old daughter witnessed the assault, police said. 'Justice for victims of domestic violence is not just about punishment — it's about protection, dignity, and the unwavering message that abuse will never be tolerated,' said Assistant Prosecutor Ventola. Chogllo is scheduled for sentencing on July 18, 2025. The victim's daughter provided crucial testimony during the trial against Chogllo, officials said. TYLER, Texas (KETK) — Texas game wardens saw the highest number of boating while intoxicated charges and responded to several boating collisions this past Memorial Day weekend, the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) said. 'This weekend was a good example of the depth of their commitment to public safety, responding in severe weather, major fire incidents and high-risk law enforcement situations.' The Texas game wardens took care of business as they conducted over 10,000 vessel checks along with issuing more than a thousand warnings and citations. Wardens also saw more serious charges including 53 boating while intoxicated, seven driving while intoxicated and 21 other arrest. Six boating collisions were reported with one them resulting in a death at Grapevine Lake. Two drownings were reported at Red River and Elmendorf Lake along with a 5-year-old girl who was recued after being blown away on an inflatable tube at the Falcon International Reservoir, according to TPWD.
