'Statistically, he's not': Cleveland Browns DE Myles Garrett is not better than Pittsburgh Steelers LB T.J. Watt

Myles Garrett is one of the highest-paid defensive ends in NFL history. Mike Moraitis of The Sporting News said on June 20, 'T.J. Watt is looking for Myles Garrett money in contract extension.
' Now, if T.J. Watt's contract extension talks at the Pittsburgh Steelers are revolving around Myles Garrett's kind of money, there's bound to be some comparison between the two players. And it's bound to reach the Pittsburgh Morning Radio Show on 93.7 The Fan! And it did!
The host of the Fan Morning Show, Adam Crowley, chimed in by saying Myles Garrett may be a first-ballot Hall of Fame guy, but he's not better than T.J. Watt statistically.
A former Pittsburgh Panthers quarterback who joins them (93.7 Radio Talk Show hosts Dorin Dickerson and Adam Crowley) every Thursday, Pat Bostick, too shared his views. Bostick said the two(T.J. Watt and Myles Garrett) can't be compared because they play different games.
Let's hear their plights, shall we?
Myles Garrett is a better athlete, but he's not statistically better than T.J. Watt, says 93.7 The Fan Radio Talk Show host Adam Crowley
93.7 The Fan Live Stream
Host of the Fan Morning Show at 93.7 The Fan in Pittsburgh, Adam Crowley said,
'Edge rushers, this floored me on this ESPN quarter-century team.
DeMarcus Ware - good player, great player. Jared Allen - great player. Julius Peppers - great player. Myles Garrett's on the list. I mean, seriously. I'm not saying Myles Garrett isn't a great player. He is. He's a first-ballot Hall of Fame guy. Every single statistic, he trails T. J. Watt.
Why does it seem like the National Consensus likes Garrett more than Watt? Because I do think that is the consensus. I think most average NFL fans, by the way the National Media talks about Garrett, they think he's a better player than T.J. Watt. Statistically, he's not. He's a better athlete. He got drafted No. 1 overall because of it. He was a phenom in college. Like, is that what it is?'
Former Pittsburgh Panthers quarterback Pat Bostick says Myles Garrett and T.J. Watt play different positions, even though they are both called edges now
Pat Bostick, former Pittsburgh Panthers quarterback, joined the hosts of 93.7 The Fan on June 19. Bostick shared,
'I think edges come in different packages.
He's a nine technique in a 4-3 defense. T.J. Watt, for the majority of his career, is a standup outside linebacker. They're both edges now. Everyone wants to call them edges now. His opportunities are quite frankly different than Myles Garrett's.
I think he's got more designed one-on-ones because of how they play schematically. I think Garrett and Watt play different positions, and they're being compared in an edge category that's melding them two together.
I don't think that's necessarily fair to either one of them.'
The crew of the 93.7 The Fan Radio Talk Show was later joined by Aditi Kinkhabwala of CBS Sports and they asked her about the Myles Garrett and T.J. Watt issue. She sided with T.J. Watt. What did she say?
T.J. Watt is not petty and not trying to land more than Myles Garrett, discloses American Sports Reporter Aditi Kinkhabwala
Aditi Kinkhabwala said, 'I got asked that, too. Oh, is T.J. Watt's whole contract situation being held up by Myles Garrett? And my response to that is T.J. Watt is not that petty.
This is not about - oh, I need one more penny than Myles Garrett.'
Ian Rapoport, NFL Insider, also said, 'You know if they possibly can, they're going to try and not make him(T.J. Watt) the highest-paid edge-rusher in the NFL.'
But how much does T.J. Watt want? As much as Myles Garrett? Then, how much does Myles Garrett make? Myles Garrett earns $40 million a year -his contract is for four years and $160 million. But who started all this Myles Garrett and T.J. Watt comparison to even begin with?
It was Adam Schefter, NFL Insider, who shared on ESPN's Unsportsmanlike on Tuesday that Trey Hendrickson and T.J. Watt would be in the Maxx Crosby, Myles Garrett range - 'somewhere in there.'

ESPN's Ryan Clark sparks backlash after comparing Joe Flacco to Jesus Christ on live TV

Joe Flacco's NFL comeback compared to Jesus Christ by ESPN analyst Ryan Clark. (Image credits: IG/X) Sports commentary is supposed to be bold, but ESPN analyst Ryan Clark may have taken things into divine territory. During Monday Night Countdown , Clark compared quarterback Joe Flacco's NFL comeback to nothing less than the resurrection of Jesus Christ. His exact words? 'Because this is the greatest resurrection since Jesus the Christ. Joe Flacco must have the faith of a mustard seed.' The comment instantly set social media on fire, with fans dropping memes, jokes, and criticism in equal measure. The take was wild, controversial, and viral all in the same breath. ESPN's Ryan Clark compares Joe Flacco to Jesus Christ, calls comeback 'the greatest resurrection' On ESPN's Monday Night Countdown , Clark reacted to the Cleveland Browns naming Joe Flacco their Week 1 starter. In an attempt to highlight how unexpected Flacco's return was, he drew a biblical comparison that shocked viewers. Clark said, 'Joe Flacco must have the faith of a mustard seed. Because this is the greatest resurrection since Jesus the Christ.' The dramatic analogy instantly grabbed attention, not just for hyping Flacco but for bringing religion into football talk. To be fair, Flacco's journey back to starter status does feel surreal. The 39-year-old quarterback hadn't started a Week 1 game since 2019 and spent years as a backup, bouncing between teams. Many thought his days as a starter were over, but injuries and opportunities brought him back into the spotlight with the Browns. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like What Happens When You Massage Baking Soda Into Your Scalp Read More Undo That underdog narrative is why Clark likely went overboard with the comparison. While likening him to Jesus Christ feels 'extra,' Flacco's return does mirror a kind of football rebirth that fans didn't see coming. Fans roast Ryan Clark's Jesus comment and turn it into memes Once Clark's words hit TV, Twitter/X wasted no time reacting. Some fans joked, 'Maybe he walks on water too and we just haven't seen it 'yet' while others dropped memes about parting the Red Sea faster than Flacco drops back to pass. The internet roasted him for pushing a sports comeback into biblical territory, though some defended it as just lighthearted TV banter. Either way, the phrase 'greatest resurrection since Jesus Christ' is now permanently attached to Joe Flacco's name whether he likes it or not. Ryan Clark faces criticism for bizarre Joe Flacco 'resurrection' comment on ESPN. Ryan Clark's over-the-top analogy has turned a simple NFL storyline into a viral cultural moment. For Flacco, the comeback is already a career-defining surprise, but for ESPN, this clip shows how sports talk thrives on shock value. Fans may laugh, cringe, or meme it endlessly, but one thing is certain, Joe Flacco's return has officially been branded as larger-than-life. And thanks to Ryan Clark, it will be remembered as the NFL's 'resurrection story. In the preseason game against the Cincinnati Bengals on Monday night, August 18, 2025, Robinson didn't play. Head coach Dan Quinn and general manager Adam Peters met with him on Sunday to discuss the situation. Quinn then told the rest of the team to make sure everyone heard it from him first. He said, 'there's just a lot of moving parts this time of year.' Robinson is in the final year of his rookie contract and had a career-high 799 rushing yards and eight touchdowns in 2024. Dan Quinn and Adam Peters hold tough Brian Robinson Jr. trade talks On Sunday afternoon, August 17, 2025, Dan Quinn and Adam Peters sat down with Brian Robinson Jr. and told him he wouldn't suit up for Monday's game. That meeting wasn't easy, Quinn admitted: 'News like that's always not easy.' The coach then addressed the team that same night, saying he wanted them to hear it from him first. All signs suggest the team is open to trading Robinson. If no trade happens, he might be released ahead of the regular season roster cuts. Brian Robinson Jr.'s contract year and Commanders' strong running back depth Brian Robinson Jr. was picked by the Commanders in the third round of the 2022 NFL Draft after starring at Alabama. He overcame being shot during an armed carjacking just before his rookie season and still ran for nearly 800 yards. Over the past three seasons, he has consistently rushed over 700 yards.
