Chelsea Could Move In For This Bundesliga Ace Soon: What Will He Add To Maresca's Team?
Simons' Decent Form In German Football Last Season
The 22-year-old managed to impress with his performances for RB Leipzig in the previous campaign. Simons found the back of the net 11 times and secured eight assists in 33 matches for RB Leipzig last season in all competitions.
The Dutch attacker was a reliable performer in the final third as he averaged 2.09 shots per 90 minutes in the Bundesliga. He even interchanged possession accurately with his teammates in the opponent's half based on his pass success rate of 78.6% in the top tier of German football (stats via fbref.com).
Simons is under contract at the German club until the summer of 2027, so Chelsea would have to make a convincing offer if they want to get a deal done for the Dutch talent in this transfer period.

What Will Simons Add To Chelsea Boss Enzo Maresca's Side?
Simons is a decent dribbler with the ball and can make some promising runs with it in and around the opponent's penalty area. He has got the vision to play a few killer passes in the final third and can strike the ball with venom from long range.
However, there are some question marks over whether the Dutch talent can maintain his good form in the Premier League if the Blues manage to get him on board this summer.
We can expect Simons to add a lot of firepower to Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca's frontline. He is good enough to challenge for a regular starting spot at Stamford Bridge this season and could help the Blues compete across all fronts in the coming years.
At 22, Simons is destined to have a bright future in European football. Thus, Chelsea would do well to snap him up before the end of this transfer window. However, Maresca has to be patient with his progress before he can get the best out of the Dutch playmaker at the West London club.

Injury-hit defence requires quick reinforcement ahead of challenging fixtures. Chelsea's transfer activity heats up as the squad battles on the field and in the market. Transfer Watch Chelsea's efforts to bolster their backline hit a hurdle as Inter Milan rebuffed a €50m bid for Alessandro Bastoni. With Levi Colwill sidelined due to an ACL injury, the hunt for a solid defender continues to be a priority. Bastoni's Champions League pedigree makes him a coveted target, but Inter's valuation exceeds Chelsea's initial offer. With Chelsea open to selling, Villa may look to capitalise, although the Premier League summer window's end looms large. Another exciting transfer narrative is Xavi Simons' preference for Stamford Bridge. Despite RB Leipzig's hefty demands, the Dutch starlet has set Chelsea as his preferred destination, a testament to the club's lure over Bayern Munich and Manchester City. Leipzig's valuation of around €80m remains a stumbling block, but Chelsea hope to fund the move by offloading Christopher Nkunku, potentially to Bayern Munich. Injury News Chelsea's defensive frailties were further exposed after a goalless draw against Crystal Palace. With Levi Colwill and Wesley Fofana out, and Tosin Adarabioyo on the mend, Enzo Maresca finds himself relying on young prospects like Josh Acheampong. The teenager, thrust into action due to necessity, shone with a poised performance that belied his years, earning him plaudits despite the lack of goals from Chelsea's attacking unit. Tactical Notes The Blues were unable to break down a stubborn Palace defence, despite dominating possession. Newcomer Estevao Willian was a bright spark, showcasing flair and creativity on his debut, suggesting he could be pivotal in unlocking defences going forward. PSG, Tottenham Receive Good News on Everton Target as Atletico Madrid Offer Rejected
With just days remaining in the summer transfer window, PSG face questions about whether they will make one or two moves before it closes. One area the Parisians could strengthen is the depth of their attack. Fichajes recently reported that Takefusa Kubo is on PSG's radar, though any deal would likely hinge on Kang-in Lee's potential departure amid ongoing transfer rumors. Last season, Kubo scored eight goals and added six assists, establishing himself as one of La Liga's most productive wingers. Everton have also reportedly contacted Real Sociedad about a possible move for the Japanese star, according to Fabrizio Romano. Real Sociedad reject offer for PSG, Tottenham targetFichajes reports that Atlético de Madrid are eager to bring Kubo from Real Sociedad. The Madrid club has reportedly offered €35 million plus goalkeeper Carlos Marín, a standout in Atlético's reserve team. Racist abuse will 'not bring down' Tottenham's Tel
Tottenham forward Mathys Tel says the online racist abuse he received after the club's recent defeat in the Uefa Super Cup will not "bring him down". The 20-year-old Frenchman was the target of abusive messages on social media after Spurs lost the match 4-3 on penalties after letting a two-goal lead slip in normal time. Tel came on as a substitute in the 79th minute and was one of two Spurs players who failed to convert from the spot in the penalty shootout. Spurs said they were "disgusted" by the abuse and those who sent the messages to Tel, who joined the north London club from Bayern Munich permanently in the summer, were "nothing but cowards". Speaking for the first time since the incident in a post on his Instagram account Tel said he wanted to say "thank you" for all the "messages of support" he had received. "I was also disappointed about Wednesday night but racism has no place in our society. Every day is a learning curve, and every day is a lesson," Tel said. "I know where I come from, where I started and none of this will bring me down. With work and humility, respect reigns." Tel's comments come in the wake of racist abuse suffered by Bournemouth player Antoine Semenyo in their opening match of the Premier League season against Liverpool at Anfield. Last Friday's game with the current champions was briefly halted in the 29th minute after Semenyo flagged it up to the referee. A 47-year-old man from Liverpool, who was arrested by Merseyside Police on Saturday on suspicion of a racially aggravated public order offence, has been conditionally bailed.
