Prince George's 'specific dietary request' sees Royal superyacht tender return to mainland
Prince William and Kate Middleton's family holiday yachting in the idyllic Greek islands supposedly had an un-royal food request from Prince George.
During the family's sailing holiday on a superyacht last month, the future king's eldest son reportedly had a specific dietary request from a particular restaurant on a Greek island. This very particular request was made as the royals left Kefalonia and were sailing south towards Zakynthos, before making a stop in the middle of the Ionian Sea.
One of the tender boats was dispatched on a mission to pick up a meal possibly from a famous fast food restaurant for the young prince. It comes after Princess Charlotte sparks frenzy with behind-the-scenes photos from Lionesses' win.
A member of the superyacht crew was reportedly dispatched out for a "specific dietary item" not available on the superyacht. A tight-lipped source revealed why one of the tender heads travelled back to the mainland, according to the MailOnline.
They said: "George required a specific dietary item which led to the tender going ashore in Zakynthos to purchase it. Nothing extravagant, just something particular."
This source did not reveal exactly what was picked up for the prince but Zakynthos is one of the few Greek islands to have a McDonald's on the mainland. The young royal could have ditched the luxury meals on the superyacht for a Big Mac or chicken nuggets and fries.
While it is not clear what Prince George's specific request was, some of the royals have been known to enjoy some fast food favourites most people also dig into. Princess Diana was known to sometimes give Prince William and Prince Harry KFC and burgers when they were growing up.
Some of Prince George's favourite meals have been revealed in the past, as celebrity chef Aldo Zilli let slip what the young royal's top dinner picks were after a chat with dad Prince William. Zilli shared: "[William's] amazing - I'm waiting for the call because apparently his little boy's favourite is spaghetti carbonara, so I'm waiting for the call to go and cook it for him."
The chef added: "If George has my carbonara, he will never have another one, so I need to go and make it, let's get the ball rolling, send me to the palace to cook."
It's not just spaghetti carbonara that tickles Prince George's taste buds, the Princess of Wales has said that he and Princess Charlotte enjoy making a 'cheesy pasta' together at home, reports the Express.
In February 2019, Princess Kate, 42, visited a school in Enfield, north London, and spoke to Ivy Learning Trust's chief executive Matthew Kleiner-Mann. He said: "She was telling us how much her children love cooking and how they cook for her.
"They made cheesy pasta the other day. One stirs the flour, one puts the milk and butter in. And they make salads and stuff."

Surf's up, Archie! Prince Harry's son, six, follows in his footsteps as he embraces the California lifestyle and joins a large group of children for a day on the beach and a lesson in wave riding watched by his proud parents
The eldest child of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle is enjoying the quintessential Californian summer as Prince Archie, six, was recently spotted learning how to ride the waves at a popular surf camp. And it appears the young royal is a natural as Harry and Meghan beamed with pride while watching their son take part in a talent show organised by the surf school - after mingling with fellow parents of budding surfers last Friday. A video posted by Surf Happens, the Santa Barbara-based surfing institute that Archie is seemingly enrolled at, showed the six-year-old dressed in an orange t-shirt with the school's logo on it and a wetsuit. He could be seen showing off his dance moves on the beach while a large group of his peers cheered enthusiastically for Archie in the clip that also showed Meghan - dressed in a casual beach-ready outfit - on her phone. Harry, meanwhile, enjoyed a laugh with some of the other fathers present for the outing that was organised by Surf Happens at Santa Claus Beach in Carpinteria, just outside Santa Barbara. According to its website, the surf school was founded in 2000 and gives its students the opportunity to 'experience the spirit of Aloha and the lifestyle of surfing' as it organises lessons and camps for 'all ages and stages'. It is described as 'Santa Barbara's premier surf school' that offers year-round private and group classes while also running surf camps - as it appears that Prince Archie was part of the most recent batch for children between the ages of four and 17. He appeared carefree and excited for his turn in the spotlight as Archie - who seems to be following in his father's footsteps - performed during the school's talent show alongside 'happy campers' while Meghan and Harry watched from the sidelines. Earlier this year, the Duke of Sussex - who is an avid surfer himself - was spotted at a surf school with Archie, then five, in a since-deleted photograph. The image showed the Duke of Sussex wearing a black wetsuit alongside Archie on a jet ski in California. The photo was uploaded as part of an Instagram reel by professional surfer Raimana Van Bastolaer and taken at surfing star Kelly Slater's Surf Ranch in Lemoore. But the image was later removed from the reel, which the surf coach captioned: 'Don't hate but be happy & keep smiling. Brother HARRY, Let's go for 2025!' Other photos which remained in the reel included a selection of Harry riding a wave, one of him smiling with his board and another posing with Van Bastolaer. On Friday, the Sussexes looked worlds away from their royal selves as Meghan was dressed casually in a pair of denim shorts with a black tank top. She threw on a white linen shirt and a wide-brimmed hat as the sun shone brightly on the family's beach day. Harry also opted for a comfortable outfit, with the father-of-two seen wearing black shorts and a T-shirt with a khaki-coloured cap and sunglasses as he watched Archie participate in the surfing school's talent show. Their beach outing last week came just days ahead of Meghan's 44th birthday, which is on August 4. One day ahead of her birthday, mother-of-two Meghan took to Instagram to post a teaser for her lifestyle brand As ever. In a short video, she was shown carrying a wicker basket filled with flowers and bottles of As Ever Napa Valley rosé laid in white linen. While Meghan's face did not feature in the video, it showed her wearing a short white dress as she frolicked in the grass, thought to be at her Montecito estate near Santa Barbara, California. She showed off her stack of rings on her left ring finger, including her engagement ring, wedding ring and an infinity ring, estimated to be worth around £210,000. She also wore a gold Cartier Love Bracelet, which costs up to £7,050, and a gold Cartier Tank Watch that once belonged to Princess Diana, both of which she regularly wears. The clip later showed a view of Meghan's swinging feet as she sits atop a stone garden wall, clad in £720 tan-coloured Hermes Santorini sandals. The words 'Coming soon...' appeared over the video to tease the launch of her new 2024 Napa Valley Rosé. Shared on the official As Ever Instagram page last night, the caption read: 'Goodness in a glass. Right around the corner... Cheers to August!' Meghan's latest post comes after she announced another product coming to her As Ever line - although some of her customers were baffled as to what was actually new. The Duchess launched her lifestyle brand As ever earlier this year, releasing the first products in April, which included a range of teas, a raspberry spread, and a limited-edition wildflower honey with honeycomb, amongst other things. She followed it up with an apricot spread and another honey, and in July, she expanded into the world of alcohol when she dropped her own wine - the 2023 Napa Valley Rosé. Each release has been met with fierce excitement from her fans, and every product has sold out pretty quickly. Now, the Duchess of Sussex 's brand has announced its newest product... but it might not garner the same amount of enthusiasm since it's not very different from her last item. The company revealed on Wednesday that following the buzz surrounding the 2023 Napa Valley Rosé, it will be launching another wine, with a slight tweak - calling it the 2024 Napa Valley Rosé. And it vowed that it will pretty much taste the same as As Ever's first wine. 'It marries the same harmony of notes from our first blend and creates an elegant medley of delicate yet memorable flavor,' reads a press release. 'You'll want to clink glasses with friends as the sun sets, toasting to a summer of joy. 'Barefoot or in sandals, dressed up or dressed down, this rosé may become your favorite accessory for alfresco lunches and dinners at dusk.' In the release, As Ever listed some of the positive feedback customers had given the company over its first rosé. This included comments like, '10 out of 10,' 'perfect,' and 'elevated flavor'. 'This affirmed all of the love, time and effort our team, and our founder, poured into curating this blend to evoke the sun drenched spirit of Napa Valley, and the breathtaking tenor of the California Coast,' As Ever added. 'Thank you for filling our cup. Now it's time for us to fill your glass! We are pleased to share that our 2024 Napa Valley Rosé will be available for purchase next week.' The brand also posted to Instagram with a series of images showing the new wine resting in beach sand. It was uploaded alongside a caption that read: 'Oh, how we love seeing the world through rose colored glasses. Rosé colored glasses? Perhaps even better. Our new vintage of As Ever's beloved rosé is available next week. 'Stay tuned for more details and timing.' As Ever's first wine went on sale on July 1 and sold out within the hour. Customers were able to purchase three bottles for $90, six bottles for $159, and 12 bottles for $300. Last month, Daily Mail exclusively revealed that the alcoholic beverage is made by Fairwinds Estate, a California winery that creates bespoke wines for celebrities. The 2023 Napa Valley Rosé is described on the bottle as a 'delicately balanced rosé with soft notes of stone fruit, gentle minerality, and a lasting finish.' It has a 14.5 percent alcohol by volume for the 750ML bottle. The Daily Mail FEMAIL team tried the rosé and while the wine was smooth, we couldn't easily detect the notes of stone fruit. In fact, it tasted quite bland, and almost water-y. In addition, the rosé had some acidic notes, leaving a somewhat uncomfortable sensation at the back of our throats after swallowing. In the end, the verdict was the wine lacked flavor and tasted affordable and ordinary. It wasn't terrible - but it certainly wasn't great. We felt the rosé just didn't taste like you bought it at a fancy vineyard, where it's supposed to be made, but rather, like a wine you would be served at a work happy hour. The FEMAIL team also reviewed her initial set of products, and found that Meghan's raspberry spread was too thin, too sweet, and very runny. Her hibiscus tea was extremely bitter with heavy notes of floral, with one taste tester comparing it to 'drinking lip balm.' 'It tasted like dirty dishwater,' another FEMAIL writer shared. Some of us couldn't even bear to swallow it, as one person even spat it back into the cup.

I posed for this romantic picture with my girlfriend – seconds later we almost died, it was like a nightmare
The horror incident was captured on Laura's phone as it happened CLIFFHANGER I posed for this romantic picture with my girlfriend – seconds later we almost died, it was like a nightmare Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) A COUPLE who posed for a romantic photo nearly died - when a sea railing collapsed. Ben had to be pulled back to safety by his ankles by his terrified family. The couple took a photo afterwards showing the broken banister in Gourock, Inverclyde, Scotland. Shocked Ben said: "Laura went forwards and I went backwards. I fell towards the edge but somehow managed to save myself by wrapping my leg round the pole. "My mum, dad and Laura were screaming for help and pulled me to safety with the help of two passers by running to help. "They all somehow managed to pull me by the ankle to safety. "The lady ran down to the bottom to try to do something if I fell. The adrenalin just kicked in and I somehow survived. "I can't thank the couple enough for running over and helping save my life. "But I could easily have died. I couldn't sleep that night from going over it all in my head. "It was like a nightmare. We were all absolutely traumatised by it." Brit, 20, breaks her back after fall from hotel balcony on Greek island… docs say it'll be 2 MONTHS before she can move Ben, from Retford in Nottinghamshire, was visiting Gourock with Laura, 38, and his parents Ian, 66, and Rachel, 60, on a motorbike tour of Scotland. They'd stopped off in Gourock to take in some sights before catching the ferry to Argyll. The horror fall was captured on Laura's phone as it happened. Ben added: "It had been such a lovely evening. We had travelled up from Lumley Castle, Durham that day. We are travelling round Scotland in our motorbikes. "We were staying in a wee holiday let next to Cleats Bar. We had a fantastic meal at Cafe Continental and went for a walk along the waterfront. "It was a beautiful night, and we stopped so Laura and I could get a photograph taken. We leaned back and then it all happened." Ben, a training manager with the National Grid, says he is now seriously concerned about the safety of all the barriers in the area and called for an investigation. He said: "What concerns me the most is this railing appeared to have been welded recently. So a repair must have been carried out. 4 It's a 15ft drop from the cliff Credit: SWNS "It could have easily been an elderly person or a child. They might not have been so lucky. "It is extremely lucky I managed to hold on and survived. "We didn't know what to do after it happened. We brought the rail back up, and we managed to find a traffic cone before we reported it. "I work with health and safety every single day. This needs to be investigated." Inverclyde Council immediately took action to cordon off the section of fence that gave way. A spokesperson said: "We are aware of the incident and understand the concerns that have been raised. "A programme of inspections and repairs of seafront railings is currently being carried out in the surrounding area, and more widely across Gourock, as part of our ongoing asset management responsibilities and commitment to public safety. "A review is currently under way to determine the cause of the issue at this location and to ensure that any necessary follow-up actions are taken." Ben concluded: "I applaud the council's quick reaction as they barriered the area off first thing the following morning. "I saw similarly rotten, broken railings in Oban after I left Gourock. I have also read of similar things happening across the country, for example Devon. "All I ask is that people are careful when they are posing for photographs this summer in similar locations. "You wouldn't expect an item which is there for your safety to be unsafe, but this proves it can happen."
