Qualcomm aptX Adaptive is a premium Bluetooth codec developed by Qualcomm. It automatically scales audio bitrate (from 279kbps to 420kbps) based on your wireless environment, prioritizing either quality or latency depending on what you're doing (like gaming vs music).
With Apple's
With Apple's AirPods Pro 3 and Sony's next-gen buds still unannounced, Bose might just enjoy a head start in the race for best premium wireless earbuds of 2025. Whether the noise cancellation and call upgrades end up being impactful upgrades remains to be seen, but the unchanged price tag is a promising start.
The earbuds are set to launch later this summer for $299, the same price as their predecessor. While the core strengths of the QuietComfort Ultra line remain—namely, Bose's renowned comfort, audio quality, and noise cancellation—this new model builds on that foundation with smarter features. The 2nd-gen earbuds use an updated AI-powered algorithm layered onto Bose's CustomTune sound calibration tech, enabling more nuanced noise control, especially in Aware Mode. Thanks to the upgrade, changes in environmental noise—like a passing subway train or sudden city chatter—are now handled more smoothly, preserving your music or podcast without jarring interruptions.Bose has also put considerable effort into improving voice pickup. The new buds feature eight microphones, dynamic audio mixing, and adaptive filters that can now suppress wind, crowd noise, or general background clamor more effectively. Whether you're using one bud or both, Bose says callers will hear your voice front and center—tech originally developed for Bose's hearing aids is now helping make that happen here.Beyond audio, Bose is finally checking off some long-requested quality-of-life features. The earbuds now support wireless charging by default, and a new wax guard helps prevent earwax from creeping inside the buds. Capacitive touch controls can now be disabled in the companion app for those who found them too sensitive.Battery life remains unchanged at up to 6 hours from the buds, with the case offering three extra full charges. A quick 20-minute top-up provides about 2 hours of listening time. The specs in a nutshell:

Samsung may have inadvertently revealed the date of its Galaxy Z Fold7 and Flip7 launch event

Samsung is going to unveil the Galaxy Z Fold7, Flip7, Watch8, Watch8 Classic, and maybe even the Galaxy Z Flip7 FE at its next Unpacked event, which has been rumored to be taking place in New York - either in early July, or in mid-July. While the rumors so far haven't agreed, a new hint comes from Samsung itself. The company has set up a series of Samsung Health events for runners and Galaxy wearable users. And, interestingly, they kick off in New York on July 13. The location is the same as what was rumored, the date fits with the most recently rumored timeline - could this be it? Could the next Unpacked event be taking place on or around July 13? Well, it's definitely a possibility, but at the moment it's just that. Hopefully, Samsung will soon begin sending official invites for the event, and all will then be revealed. Via

Apple surprisingly releases revised iOS 26 Developer Beta to fix serious battery issue

Apple has pushed out a revised version of the iOS 26 Developer Beta 1 to iPhone 15 and iPhone 16 owners, The first version was released a few hours following the keynote on June 9th, the first day of WWDC. Even though it is called a Developer Beta, you do not have to be a developer to install it and Apple no longer charges $99 to become one. As a result, several iPhone users with a compatible model are able to run the iOS 26 Beta on their iPhones with the typical beta bugs and all. So why did Apple feel compelled to disseminate a revised Developer Beta for iOS 26 today? A major bug in the first release could result in the low battery symbol appearing in the status bar in the upper right corner of the display. This could lead an iPhone to show the low battery symbol and fail to turn on after the installation of the first iOS 26 Developer Beta release. Today's update is supposed to prevent this battery issue from bricking an iPhone 15 or iPhone 16 series model. Apple has already said that it will release the first iOS 26 Public Beta in July. The stable version of iOS 26 will be released this coming September alongside the unveiling and launch of the new iPhone 17 series which includes the iPhone 17 Air, an ultra-thin version of the iPhone that is replacing what would have been called the iPhone 17 Plus. The most noticeable change in the iOS 26 Developer Beta 1 is the Liquid Glass design. Using a translucent look with real-time light refraction, Apple will create a unified look that appears modern and engaging. If you've registered before with the Apple Beta Software Program, go to go to Settings > General > Software Update . At the top of the Software Update page, tap on Beta Updates, and on the next page, tap on iOS 26 Developer Beta. A check mark will appear indicating that you've selected this beta version to receive. Go back to Settings > General > Software Update and you should receive the prompt to install iOS 26 Developer Beta. Follow the directions to download it on your handset. Make sure you've backed up your iPhone first. If you have an iPhone 15 or iPhone 16 and have already loaded the iOS 26 Developer Beta on your phone, go directly to Settings > General > Software Update . You should be prompted to load the revised beta on your phone.

vivo releases more X Fold5 teaser images and a hands-on video

vivo is unveiling the X Fold5 in China on June 25, while its global launch may be coming on July 10. Ahead of the full announcement, the company has continued its teaser campaign on Weibo, where it has today released a bunch of new official images of the phone. There's even a hands-on video now doing the rounds in China, here it is embedded for your viewing pleasure. Obviously, it's in Chinese, but you don't need to understand the audio in order to appreciate what you're seeing, we'd wager. Alongside the images and the video, vivo is teasing the fact that the X Fold3 from last year still holds the record for being the lightest book-style foldable, and the X Fold5 will break that record. Thus it will weigh under 219g. That's slab-style phone territory. vivo X Fold5 official images The Fold5 is also said to be thinner than its predecessor, but despite that it will pack the largest capacity battery in any foldable, at 6,000 mAh. The battery has 12% silicon content and can operate at even -30°C. The hinge is tested to work in -20°C, and multitasking is promised to get a boost thanks to vivo's Atomic Workbench, a desktop-like experience. More vivo X Fold5 official images The X Fold5 will also be the first Android phone to seamlessly integrate into the Apple ecosystem, and this is aimed specifically at iPhone users who want a folding phone but don't want to leave Apple's walled garden. And now they won't have to. A vivo exec says using the X Fold5 side-by-side with an iPhone is totally possible, as is replacing the iPhone altogether. Source (in Chinese) | Via
