Bengals Cut Paves Way for Potential All-Rookie Campaign
Bengals Cut Paves Way for Potential All-Rookie Campaign originally appeared on Athlon Sports.
Most of the hubbub this offseason about the Cincinnati Bengals' rookie class has centered on the controversy surrounding first-round pick Shemar Stewart and his contract holdout.
Stewart, a stout defensive end, was expected to form a fierce pass rush duo with last year's sack leader Trey Hendrickson ... who is also going through a contract dispute.
Getting lost in the weeds is Cincy's second-round pick, linebacker Demetrius Knight Jr., who could make just as much impact as any rookie on this year's roster.
Knight enters a perfect opportunity to see the field in his first NFL season, which earns him a spot on NFL.com's All-Rookie Team projection.
Before the 2025 Draft, the South Carolina product's combine profile featured a player comparison that will sound familiar to Bengals fans: Germaine Pratt.

Pratt had requested a trade in February after six seasons in Cincinnati. After drafting Knight, Pratt was cut, which paves a nice road for Knight to take and potentially earn a spot in the starting lineup immediately.
Cincinnati's other starting linebacker Logan Wilson had some good things to say about the rookie and his potential role this season.
"He can do everything at a high level. Just a matter of putting it all together," Wilson said, via the team website. "He's fast, hits, big, shifty. All the things you want in a linebacker, he's got."
"He's done a hell of a job for a rookie with how much we've installed and covered," he added. "I'm looking forward to playing next to him."

Knight has big shoes to fill, as Pratt was the Bengals' leading tackler last season with 143.
He'll still have to earn his stripes this summer at training camp, but so far the rook has made a nice impression on his elder teammates. Knight will compete for a starting job with fellow rookie Barrett Carter and free agent signee Oren Burks, who has Super Bowl experience with the Eagles last season.
"Those guys are still competing for that," head coach Zac Taylor said about his linebacker unit.
"I do think [Knight] has worked really hard. As I come in the building, he's one of the first guys in the locker room every single day," Taylor said. "Very mature. He's ready to go, ready to compete."

How to watch Juventus vs Wydad AC: TV channel and live stream for Club World Cup match today
All smiles: Juventus made a flying start to the Club World Cup (AFP via Getty Images) Juventus will look to secure their place in the last-16 of the Club World Cup when they take on Wydad AC this evening. It was an ideal start to the tournament for the Italian side, who thrashed Al-Ain 5-0 after scoring four first-half goals. Advertisement They will now be eyeing three more points here to leave the final group-stage match against Manchester City as a likely showdown for top spot. Wydad AC, though, will believe they can cause Juventus problems, having showed plenty of ambition in their opening defeat to City. The Moroccan club were beaten 2-0 but offered a threat on the counter throughout and should offer Juventus a sterner test than Al-Ain managed. The heat in Philadelphia could make conditions uncomfortable but Wydad were well-backed by their fans against City and that should be the case again here. How to watch Juventus vs Wydad AC Live stream: Viewers can watch the action live online via the DAZN website. Kick-off is at 5pm this evening. DAZN is the global broadcaster of the new-look Club World Cup. No subscription is required to watch the game, with the entire tournament available to their 'Freemium' members, which means you only need to sign up for a free DAZN account.

Your 2025 Dolphins Offensive Stat Leaders
A couple of nights ago, I asked the following question: What's your prediction for who will lead the Miami Dolphins offense in any statistical category? Give us your list of leaders, along with statistical numbers, if you also want to predict those. Below are some of your thoughts and answers- Advertisement SlayerNation1 has all of the usual suspects. Achane 800/400 yards Hill 1400 (Waddle will miss games 1100) Tua 3,000 yards passing, will miss games Smith if He plays 700 yards, many of his short passes/behind LOS passes could go to a RB or Conner. Mcadaniel leads the league with 30 Delays of Game dedstrk316 added some new statistical categories. Injuries: Tua, Chubb, Phillips, at least one oline player. Timeouts due to not being able to get the play call in on time: McDaniel Hissy Fits: Tyreek Being a total badass: Seiler and Grant How the heck did he do that: Achane, Waddle Yarganaught doesn't know who it's going to be but believes that the run game will be a focus this coming season. Oh gosh, I really don't have any idea who will be The Man at any spot. I think the running game will be a focus, and the O-line will improve in that area. But will those carries go to Achane, or will he become an increased passing threat? Perhaps Wright or Gordon II will surpass him in rushing yards and TDs. As mentioned below by JUK, will MMD spurn Hill's ego (in what could be his final season with Miami) in turn for Waddle's? Similarly, will MMD try to replace Jonnu's TE production with one of the other TEs on the roster, will Achane assume many of those shorter yardage passes, or will a WR3 step up as the TE (Pharoah) assumes more of a blocking role again? And that's just on Offense!!! Dolphster sees the status quo remaining. Interesting question. I think Tua, Achane, and Hill will still lead in passing, rushing, and re Smith will stay, play to the same standard but be at least 20% down in counting statsceiving. Even if Jonnu stays, I don't foresee him replicating last year's stats, so I don't see him repeating for most receiving TDs. Not sure who I would guess would take that lead this year though. Maybe Achane for most overall TDs, but not receiving TDs. JUK has Achane leading the team in yards and Waddle besting Hill. Achane will lead the team in total yards from scrimmage, that's the easiest call for me if he's healthy. Waddle will outplay Hill, whether he leads the team in receiving yards depends if McD has learned his lesson or if he keeps trying to feed balls to protect Reek's ego. Bill Moody sees Tua staying healthy. QB (All) - Tua (he stays healthy) RB (Rushing and Scrimmage Yards, TDs) - Achane (Wright didn't look good last year, and Ollie is new) WR (Receiving Yards) - HIll (while I think both Hill and Waddle will have a resurgance, I think Hill gonna be on a warpath) These seem most likely to me. It seems that if there is any consensus, it is that things will continue as they are. Thank you to each of you who took the time to answer our question of the day. More from

Georgia Gets Strong Message From Five-Star RB
Georgia Gets Strong Message From Five-Star RB originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The Georgia Bulldogs emerged confident after five-star running back Derrek Cooper visited campus last weekend. On3's Chad Simmons reported on June 13 that the Bulldogs could very well be the favorite in the top running back's recruitment. Advertisement While Cooper stopped short of calling the Bulldogs the favorite, he didn't tell Rivals' Harrison Reno anything that would suggest Georgia isn't his No. 1 choice at the moment. While talking to Reno, the running back raved about the relationships he's made with the Bulldogs program. "Our bond is very good," Cooper told Reno. "You know, we talk every day, you know, just chatting it up, see how things are going. So our bond is pretty tight." Georgia Bulldogs football head coach Kirby Smart© Dale Zanine-Imagn Images Reno wrote that Cooper's mother, Tonya Brinson, is playing "a significant part" in his recruitment. That makes it all the more important that the Bulldogs feel like family to the running back. Advertisement "Development, the family that's being felt from the coaching staff," Cooper added. "You know, she just wants to be able to sleep at night knowing that I'm well taken care." Cooper is a consensus top five running back in the 2026 recruiting class. Based on the 247Sports Composite rankings, Cooper is also the No. 2 Florida prospect and No. 20 overall recruit for 2026. Simmons reported the Miami Hurricanes are Georgia's biggest competition for Cooper. Although the Bulldogs appear confident they will eventually land the running back, the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine and 247Sports Crystal Ball both have Cooper committing to Miami. Advertisement The Auburn Tigers, Alabama Crimson Tide, Florida State Seminoles, Penn State Nittany Lions and Ohio State Buckeyes are also contenders for Cooper.
