Yahoo01-03-2025

Viewers were left 'dead' after the Britain's Got Talent stars made a hilarious entrance to the second episode of auditions in a 'hideous' vehicle.
The talent show is back for its highly anticipated 18th series, with the first episode showcasing auditions from Blackpool, which aired last week. Head judge Simon Cowell is back, joined by TV star Amanda Holden, singer Alesha Dixon, and former Strictly Come Dancing judge Bruno Tonioli.
The second episode, which showcases the auditions held in Blackpool, opened with a 'roar-some' performance from the band Hevisaurus. But before the acts started, viewers were entertained by the entrance of the judges.

One viewer said on X: "The side of the van got me dead #BritainsGotTalent #BGT"
Another wrote: "Love the buzzer car and Simon driving makes him look like he's on the toilet until he realised the paint work on the drivers side #BGT"
A third wrote: "That VW people carrier looks hideous... Saying that every car these days looks hideous"
This series, fans are in for a special treat with an extra guest judge – influence and boxer KSI – stepping in for both Tonioli and Cowell.
The iconic duo, Ant and Dec (Anthony McPartlin and Declan Donnelly), return to host the talent-packed show for yet another series.
A format change this year sees the live semi-finals airing weekly, instead of nightly across one week as in previous series'. This means the show will run longer than before, with the final airing in May.
Britain's Got Talent has run since 2007, showcasing entertaining talent and producing memorable winners like tenor Paul Potts and dance troupe Diversity. Last year's winner was singer Sydnie Christmas, after singing Somewhere Over The Rainbow in the final.
The series champion receives £250,000 in prize money and the coveted opportunity to perform at the Royal Variety Performance.
Britain's Got Talent airs Saturdays at 7pm on ITV1.

Bobby Brazier to leave EastEnders after two years

Bobby Brazier is leaving EastEnders. The 22-year-old actor- who is the son of late Big Brother legend Jade Goody and her former partner Jeff Brazier - has played the role of Freddie Slater on the BBC One soap opera since 2022 but will depart in scenes set to air later this year. An EastEnders spokeswoman told The Sun: 'We can confirm that Bobby Brazier will be leaving EastEnders, and we wish him all the best for the future." An insider explained to the outlet that the former Strictly Come Dancing contestant wanted to leave, so the decision between him and bosses was mutual, but assured fans that he will still be on screen for a little while yet. The source said: "The character has had a great run, but the time is now right for Bobby to look for other opportunities, and for EastEnders to wave goodbye to Freddie Slater." The source said:"Bosses had a meeting with Bobby only recently as they had a plan in mind for a storyline, and it just so happened that Bobby was also thinking that now was the right time to look for other opportunities outside the show. 'The timing of the decision worked for both, but his final scenes are not for a while yet." News of Bobby's exit comes just months after he claimed that he needed to "step back" from his acting career for a period of time. He was quoted by the Daily Star newspaper's Hot TV column as saying: "I think I need to step away from acting for a bit and have a break. "I'm 20, but I haven't felt 20 in a very long time." Despite wanting to take a break, Bobby hopes he keeps getting more offers for other projects so he can continue to "progress and learn". He said: "I want to be good at what I do, so any opportunity that presents itself where I can progress and learn, I will take."

EastEnders star Jamie Borthwick suspended by BBC over 'unacceptable' language at Blackpool Strictly show

An actor known for playing Jay Brown in EastEnders has been suspended over the alleged use of a disabled slur on the Strictly Come Dancing set. Jamie Borthwick is said to have made the offensive remark on a phone video while the Strictly cast were at Blackpool Tower Ballroom last November. He is understood to have used the term to describe the people of Blackpool, the town where the show was being filmed, The Sun on Sunday first reported. 'We have robust processes in place for this.' Warren Kirwan, media manager at disability equality charity Scope, said: 'Attitudes and language like this are never acceptable. It's not just ignorant and hurtful to disabled people, it has wider consequences. 'Negative attitudes hold disabled people back in all areas of life, from getting a job to shopping on the high street. 'Mr Borthwick needs to reflect on what he said, educate himself and do better. We hope he takes the opportunity to get to know the reality of disabled people's lives.' Borthwick won the Strictly 2023 Christmas special with Nancy Xu, and won the best actor gong at the Inside Soap Awards in September that year, with the show recognised with the best storyline for Loving And Losing Lola, about character Lola Pearce-Brown's brain tumour diagnosis. As part of the storyline, Borthwick, as Lola's husband Jay, and Emma Barton, as Honey Mitchell, ran the London Marathon in character in honour of Lola after her death. His suspension comes after Wynne Evans last week said he had been dropped by the BBC, following an apology saying that he used 'inappropriate language' during the launch of the Strictly Come Dancing tour. The Welsh opera singer, 53, known for the insurance advertisements, will no longer be a BBC Radio Wales presenter, he announced on May 30. Earlier this year, he apologised for language that he called 'inappropriate and unacceptable' after The Mail On Sunday reported that Evans was heard making a remark to a woman in a video filmed during the Strictly launch event. It is understood he was given a warning over the remark by tour producers.

In January, he said: 'I've agreed with the BBC that I'll take some time out from my radio show and the Strictly Live tour, as well as my other public commitments, to prioritise my wellbeing. 'I am deeply sorry for the pain my inappropriate actions have caused, and plan to take this time for self-reflection. 'Apologies to those I won't get to see at the remaining performances and I'm grateful to my fellow tour gang for all the amazing support they have given me.' The singer, who performed in the 25th anniversary of The Phantom Of The Opera and also won 2023's Celebrity MasterChef, told The Sun on Sunday earlier this month that the Strictly comment was not sexual or directed at one of the female cast but was a nickname for fellow contestant Borthwick. He told the paper: 'I didn't see the statement, Old Spit-roast Boy was a nickname for Jamie Borthwick. I'm not a bad guy, I'm not a misogynist, I'm not any of these things.' Evans added: 'And so I went, 'I'm so sorry'. And that was taken as a formal apology, so the press team issued a statement. I didn't see it. 'When I read the apology within the context of the story as it had been written, I was absolutely horrified.' The Strictly tour saw contestants of the most recent series return to the dancefloor, including Love Island star Tasha Ghouri, actress Sarah Hadland, JLS singer JB Gill, The X Factor winner Shayne Ward and Gladiators star Montell Douglas. They toured the country alongside Strictly judges Shirley Ballas, Anton Du Beke, Craig Revel Horwood and Motsi Mabuse, performing in cities including Birmingham, Sheffield, Newcastle, Liverpool, Leeds, Manchester and London.
