FBN Expands AI-Powered Platform for Ag Commerce, Financing, and Farm Intelligence
The funding will support FBN's mission of powering the prosperity of family farms. Backed by leading investors, including GV (Google Ventures), Temasek, Arteqin, Colle Capital and T Rowe Price, the company builds on its digital platform to simplify agriculture's supply of goods, financing and services, while becoming the farmer's trusted personal AI partner.
FBN's farmer network has grown to over 117,000 farms, representing 187 million acres in the U.S. and Canada. Its Amazon-like e-commerce platform offers more than 7,200 products from crops and livestock with direct-to-farm delivery on most orders within 24 to 72 hours. According to recent farmer surveys by Stratus Ag Research, FBN was visited by 35% of farmers when shopping for inputs, and the number of farmers buying inputs online grew 86% vs. 2023. In 2025, more farmers returned to FBN to purchase inputs than ever before, as producers focused on profitability. FBN's Finance platform has now extended nearly $3 billion in total financing to growers.
"Our commitment to putting farmers first means a relentless focus on efficiency and convenience," said Diego Casanello, CEO of FBN. "Our goal is to reduce a farm's operating costs 20% or more compared to brick-and-mortar retail. We're working to maximize grower savings and ensure every dollar they spend goes as far as possible."
To better serve its members and build for the future, FBN is evolving to focus on its core digital strengths. This has meant making difficult choices to align its workforce with strategic priorities. These essential changes, while challenging, position FBN to deliver exceptional and sustainable value to its members through innovation.
FBN is increasing its strategic investment in advanced AI development. "Artificial Intelligence is enabling us to provide our farmer members with more personalized and relevant insights," said Casanello. "Simultaneously, it offers new tools to automate our marketplace operations, reducing costs and improving the customer experience."
FBN launched 'Norm', the first Large Language Model (LLM) to answer farmer's agronomy questions. The model has been now trained to help farmers with crop marketing related inquiries. Future versions are expected to include personalized agronomy, finance and risk management support.
The company is broadening its marketplace offerings – all while improving the fast and convenient service farmers have come to expect and rely on. FBN has significantly expanded its private label product portfolio in 2025 and opened the platform to third-party sellers, allowing them to offer their own brands directly to FBN members via a suite of seller tools and commercial services.
Today's announcement includes these expanded product portfolio features:
More Private Label and Third-party Crop Protection Products: FBN is enhancing its crop protection, biological and nutrition offerings for major commodity crops like corn, canola, cotton, soybeans, alfalfa and wheat, creating one of the industry's broadest and most trusted portfolios under its Willowood USA ® and Farmers First ® brands, while opening up the platform to more third-party sellers.
Canadian Growth: FBN Canada has expanded its wheat crop protection portfolio, added bulk liquid fertilizer and equipment financing, and will open two new distribution centers in 2026.
New Seed Platform: FBN is opening the marketplace for third-party seed offers, with leading brands like Seitec Genetics ®, featuring products for corn, soybean, sorghum, alfalfa, and cover crops.
Expanding Livestock: FBN's rapidly growing livestock marketplace will continue to expand with new products including feed from Ridley ® & Sweetlix ®, fencing, and a growing assortment of farm & ranch supplies.

Reddit Accelerates Innovation and Slashes Build Times with Buildkite
SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Buildkite Pty Ltd., a leader in scalable software delivery solutions, today announced that Reddit, one of the world's largest online communities with more than over 400M weekly active users, has successfully migrated its mobile continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD) pipelines to Buildkite, dramatically improving build performance, reliability, and developer autonomy across its mobile engineering organization. By adopting Buildkite's high-performance hosted agents and dynamic pipeline primitives, Reddit has reduced build queue times to just seconds and accelerated build speeds by 30% for both Android and iOS workflows, while maintaining cost efficiency. By adopting Buildkite's high-performance hosted agents and dynamic pipeline primitives, Reddit has reduced build queue times to just seconds and accelerated build speeds by 30% for both Android and iOS workflows, while maintaining cost efficiency. Share 'With Buildkite, we finally have the reliability and performance at scale that our mobile teams were missing,' said Ken Struys, Reddit's Director of Developer Experience. 'We've seen a significant improvement to the overall developer experience, and both Android and iOS CI are more than 30% faster on Buildkite.' Facing growing demands from millions of global users and a rapidly expanding codebase, Reddit's mobile teams had outgrown their previous CI/CD provider. Lack of ability to control the build environment meant they couldn't use custom Docker images (as they can with Buildkite). The team also struggled with configuration complexity, with 6,000 lines of YAML split across multiple files, in addition to unreliable builds due to environment drift and dependency failures. Reddit's migration to Buildkite, affecting over 200 mobile engineers, was completed ahead of schedule and involved a full transition of both Android and iOS mono repositories. The company leveraged Buildkite's composable pipeline primitives to create custom workflows that seamlessly integrated with Bazel and BuildBuddy, allowing both iOS and Android apps to be built efficiently on Linux runners with remote execution. Dynamic pipelines enabled Reddit to build powerful CI systems with less cruft and less code repetition. Comprehensive benchmarking revealed that Reddit's builds now run up to 30% faster, with job queue times consistently dropping to around five seconds. Buildkite's Git caching and container caching features were 'absolute game changers,' reducing Git checkout times from several minutes to 30-40 seconds. Intelligent build cancellation and log customization further improved developer experience and operational efficiency. The migration was conducted by a remarkably lean core team. 'We built most of the Android pipelines and the iOS pipelines with two people,' said Struys. 'You don't need massive engineering resources to use Buildkite, but the scale is tremendous. We've got 170 plus engineers on it now, and most of our builds are running like 12 to 15 jobs in each field now.' It was also executed with exceptional care through a staged approach, including having shadow builds running in parallel to production systems to ensure a zero-risk transition. Buildkite's team provided responsive support and delivered custom feature requests, including a GitHub App for GitHub Enterprise Server, throughout the process. "Reddit's successful migration exemplifies the transformative power of modern, composable CI/CD architecture," said Dan Ring, Vice President of Product at Buildkite, who worked closely with the company on the migration. "When engineering organizations outgrow traditional CI/CD limitations, they need a platform that can deliver both immediate performance gains and long-term scalability. Reddit's experience demonstrates what's possible when you combine Buildkite's high-performance hosted agents with our flexible, composable primitives. This isn't just about faster builds, it's about unleashing engineering teams to innovate at the speed their users demand." For more information, see Reddit's blog post here. Mortgage Rates Drop to Lowest Level in 10 Months, Upping Purchasing Power in a Buyer-Friendly Market
SEATTLE--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The daily average mortgage rate dropped to 6.57% on August 4, the lowest level in 10 months, according to a new report from Redfin, the real estate brokerage powered by Rocket. That means a homebuyer on a $3,000 monthly budget has gained roughly $20,000 in purchasing power since May, when the daily average rate hit a recent peak of 7.08%. A buyer on that budget can afford a $458,750 home with today's mortgage rate, compared to the $439,000 home they could have bought with May's peak. To look at affordability another way, the monthly mortgage payment on the median-priced U.S. home, which goes for roughly $447,000, is $2,862 with today's average rate. In mid-May, when rates were sitting above 7%, the monthly payment would have been $2,983, over $100 more. Mortgage rates fell over the weekend following a weaker-than-expected July jobs report. The U.S. added fewer jobs than anticipated, and the unemployment rate ticked up, which pushed up the chances of the Fed cutting interest rates in September. 'This dip in mortgage rates gives house hunters a window of opportunity to buy before summer ends,' said Daryl Fairweather, Redfin's chief economist. 'While housing costs are still fairly high, the recent decline in rates boosts purchasing power and improves overall homebuying conditions. Combined with the surplus of homes for sale on the market, serious buyers may want to jump in sooner rather than later.' House hunters should take note that there are hundreds of thousands more home sellers than buyers in the market, giving many prospective buyers an opportunity to negotiate home prices down and ask for concessions. But the gap between sellers and buyers is starting to shrink as new listings decline, with would-be sellers opting to stay put instead of listing their home in a buyer's market. Why Is Amazon Using a Lada to Advertise its Used-Car Listings?
Amazon now has used-car listings. For now, only Los Angeles dealers can list used and certified pre-owned vehicles, with customers completing the sale through Amazon. A big deal, but us being complete nerds, were distracted by one of the cars Amazon is using to advertise the service. It is, of all things, a Lada Vesta SW Cross, a lifted station wagon from Russia's state-owned automaker. A car that isn't sold in many markets outside of Russia, and definitely not the US. Photo by: Wikimedia Commons / Ilya Plekhanov A strange choice to be sure. It's not uncommon to see companies use images that might be a made-up rendering or a mashup of multiple different models to represent a generic car. Amazon itself also uses a Ram 1500 with its logos removed in its press release on the new used-car service. But a Lada? It must've been in a royalty-free image somewhere, and no one at Amazon figured anyone would raise an eyebrow. They didn't see us coming. What's especially funny is that this is the second time in a week this sort of thing has happened. As our friends at The Autopian report , the GOP used an image of an old Lada in a tweet about how the Trump Administration's Big Beautiful Bill will "make automobiles great again" and "will drive the return of the great American car." Amazon Autos launched its service a while back with Hyundai , and as of right now, its used-car listings come from LA-area Hyundai dealers. Amazon says it plans on adding new, non-Hyundai dealers in the coming months. We can't imagine we'll see many Ladas listed for sale there.
