The Pro Breeze OmniAir 41' 2-in-1 Bladeless Tower Fan and Air Purifier from Debenhams is another choice for £149.99 that is said to remove up to 99% of dust, pollen, odours and pollutants from the air.
The GoveeLife fan, however, has a 4.5 out of 5-star rating on Amazon. One shopper said: 'Almost silent on level 1, still very quiet on top level and it looks great too.'
Another said: 'This fan is amazing. It looks modern, doesn't make too much noise when on, and can easily link to Alexa.'
'This looks great,' said another. 'Its footprint is small and tucks away in a small space. It runs quietly because of the strong breeze it emits.'
Naturally, not everyone loved the fan, and one person said: 'It's not as quiet as I had hoped for.'
With money off the GoveeLife 36-inch Smart Tower Fan, however, it could be the perfect option to cool homes as temperatures increase this summer.

Our lights, our locks, our speakers, our vacuum cleaners, even our fridges. So it feels like making essential safety kit smarter would be a natural progression. And, while I'm really not sure why my dishwasher needs to have smart capabilities, making life-saving tech a little bit more savvy feels like a sensible progression. To put that to the test, I've been reviewing part of a suite of smart safety tech from X-Sense a well-established global company that works hard to improve safety through innovation. My choice of product was its new FS31 Smart Smoke Alarm Kit. Through a base station hub, which comes with the kit, you can rig it up to work alongside everything from carbon monoxide detectors and water leak sensors, but I know from my previous job as a news reporter, that the smoke alarm is one of the most important devices you can have in your house. Using an app to test or silence the alarm is so much easier than climbing a ladder | X-Sense Truth be told, smart smoke alarms are nothing new. I've tested plenty of them, but the first thing that strikes you about the three alarm units included in this kit is how compact they are. You just mount them in the key areas you need monitoring, connect them to the app through the base station, and let them get on with the job of keeping you safe. Remarkably, you can add up to 50 devices to this little hub, which means you can create a whole ecosystem of monitoring tech, and it's all reporting live to the app. If it detects smoke, there's a penetrating 100db alarm across all the units, and you get alerted via an app. The beauty of this is, obviously, you know there's a problem wherever you are - home or away. It also means, if you get an alert because your wife has burned the scrambled eggs again, you can silence it from the sofa, using the app. No more getting up, climbing a ladder, and pressing a reset button. The three-sensor bundle currently costs £55 - and that's a bargain | X-Sense It uses a conventional battery, which is said to last for up to five years, and the units will let you know if there's any sort of problem, or if the battery needs replacing. So no more getting out of bed at 3am to figure out which one's making that horrible little "pip" noise. And I haven't even got to the best bit yet. A pack of three smoke alarms and a base station costs just £55.99 - if you can catch a 30% discount on Amazon. And that's incredibly cheap for smart tech, let alone a set of three smart devices which have a 10-year lifespan. Adding extra X-Sense units is also a bargain, so it's clearly a company that has mastered the trick of providing quality products at sensible prices. If the alarms were fiddly to use, unreliable, or felt poorly made, I'd understand the price. But the fact is they're just not. They work really well, they're easy to set up, and I'm impressed by the quality. In fact I can't think of the last time I was this impressed with a product, taking into account all factors, especially the price. Given this is a safety device, and given how important I know smoke alarms are, I can't hesitate to give it five stars. Every house should have one of these kits.

The advantage of buying from Samsung is that there are trade-in offers you can take advantage of. However, to get this much of a discount – the Argos deal saves you £107.50 off the original price from Samsung – you'd need to trade in a phone that's better than the Galaxy A36, so it's not worth it. Those looking for a phone deal that's not the Galaxy A36, then the Poco X7 Pro on Amazon is £269, saving £75, and this gamer's phone offers more power, a bigger battery and faster charging, but the user experience isn't as smooth as Samsung offers. The Samsung Galaxy A36 has a large 6.7-inch AMOLED display, 256GB of storage and comes in a great modern design, with IP67 protection against water, so it will be happy at the beach. It's powered by Snapdragon hardware, but here it's mid-range Snapdragon 6 Gen 3, so this isn't the fastest phone around. While it will be fine for day-to-day activities like checking emails and social media, however it doesn't have the power for a great gaming experience, which we'd urge customers to consider when shopping. Another drawback to the budget Galaxy A36 model is the display. The model has been noted to have a 'dim' display when used outdoors, something not found to be an issue on the higher end Galaxy S25 range. One of the great things is that Samsung offers 6 years of updates. That means your phone will still get the latest features and still have security updates in 2031. Samsung's One UI is one of the most popular phone experiences in Android devices, with plenty of options for customisation. There's a triple camera on the back, including a 50-megapixel main sensor, with Galaxy AI editing features bundled in, so once users have snapped their photo, it can be cleaned up using AI. The Samsung Galaxy A36 sits below the Galaxy A56 and these two devices make up the mid-range tier of Samsung phones before you get to the Galaxy S25 models above it.
