
Two arrests and seven taken to hospital after Denbighshire crash
A three-vehicle crash occurred near the Downing Arms Inn on the A541 at Bodfari at around 7.40pm.
The road was closed for several hours as police and up to three air ambulance crews attended the scene.
Three casualties were airlifted to major trauma centres and four others were taken by land to local hospitals.
The casualties' conditions range from being "life threatening to life changing" and the families of all of those involved have been informed.
Two people have been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injuries by dangerous driving and police investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash are underway.
Sergeant Daniel Rees from the Roads Crime Unit said: 'I am appealing for witnesses to the collision, who have not provided their details to police, to come forward and also to anyone who may have seen, or have CCTV or dashcam footage of, a silver BMW 118 and a Silver Mercedes A200 travelling together in the area of Denbigh and Bodfari at around this time to contact police.
"I would also like to ask that people refrain from commenting on social media posts regarding this incident so as not to prejudice the criminal investigation and instead please contact us directly to pass any information.'
'If anyone has any information relating to this collision, please contact police quoting event number C057641.'

Driver trying to enter A55 the wrong way during 'high speed pursuit', stopped by police car

A North Wales Police statement said: "The sentencing follows an incident in Bangor just before 5pm on Sunday, January 12 th when an officer from the Roads Crime Unit was on mobile patrol on Garth Road when his attention was drawn to a vehicle travelling at speed along Glynne Road. Williams continued to drive - increasing in speed travelling onto the High Street. "He drove through a red light at the junction of Farrar Road and continued at speeds in excess of 60mph, overtaking several vehicles on Caernarfon Road before negotiating the Tesco roundabout the wrong way and entered onto the A4086 travelling contra before crossing the central carriageway up the eastbound on slip onto the A55. "Williams then attempted to turn right at the top of the on slip to travel westbound on the eastbound carriageway of the A55 and the officer took evasive action and made tactical contact with the vehicle to bring it to a stop. "Williams pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 52 weeks in prison and was disqualified from driving for 5 years and 3 months." Woman dies after late night road accident on Anglesey
A woman has sadly died after a collision on a main road on Anglesey. The crash happened on the A5 either late last night or early this morning. The casualty was taken to hospital but tragically did not survive. Police have appealed for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to contact them. North Wales Police said in a Facebook statement: "The single-vehicle collision happened on the A5 between Valley and Holyhead, in an area known as The Cob, sometime between 11pm on Saturday, 31 May and 12.14am on Sunday, 1 June. "Emergency services attended and the woman was taken to hospital, where she sadly died. Her family has been informed." Sergeant Leigh McCann, of the force's Roads Crime Unit, is appealing for witnesses. He said: 'I am urging anybody who may have been in the area at the time, anybody who witnessed the collision, or anyone who saw a black Citroen C3 being driven in the area between these times, to contact us. 'I am also asking anyone who may have CCTV or dashcam footage of the vehicle to get in touch."
