Earthquake swarm rattles Southern California with thousands reporting shaking

Southern California has experienced multiple earthquakes within just one hour.
The US Geological Survey (USGS) detected four tremors starting around 1:15 a.m. PT (4:15am ET), ranging in magnitude from 3.5 to 3.7.
The largest hit occurred around 2am PT (5am ET), 13 miles outside Rancho Cucamonga.
More than 2,000 people have reported shaking since the first earthquake struck, with many located in Los Angeles.
Residents have shared their experiences on X, with one saying: 'Pray for us in California that the big one doesn't happen.
'That was the 3rd earthquake in the last 10 minutes.'
Others said the earthquakes woke them up as they struck in the middle of the night.
These earthquakes follow another magnitude 3.5 earthquake that shook the Rialto area late Tuesday afternoon, which is just miles from Wednesday's seismic activity.

An earthquake was detected just miles north of an Alaskan volcano that is set to erupt. The US Geological Survey detected a 4.6 magnitude quake in Petersville, about 48 miles from Mount Spurr. The Alaska Earthquake Center said: 'We have reviewed a M4.6 earthquake that occurred at 10:38 am local time, 52.4 miles deep and 34 miles N of Skwentna. 'This event was reported as felt throughout Anchorage and the Matanuska-Susitna region.' The USGS has received nearly 200 reports of shaking in the sparsely populated region. Mount Spurr is currently under an eruption 'Advisory' due to a low level of unrest with occasional, small earthquakes occurring beneath the volcano. This is a developing story...
