The Princess Of Wales Brought Charlotte, George And William To Wimbledon

THE RUNDOWN
On Sunday, Kate Middleton made an appearance at Wimbledon for the second day in a row, this time joined by her husband, Prince William, and their two older children, Princess Charlotte and Prince George. Their youngest, Prince Louis, did not join the family in their box at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club this time.
The group was there to watch Italy's Jannik Sinner compete against Spain's Carlos Alcaraz, with Princess Kate ultimately handing Sinner the Gentlemen's Singles Trophy for his win.
For the event, Kate wore a royal blue dress with a deep V-neckline, padded shoulders, and a long flowing skirt. On her feet, she wore a pair of Ralph Lauren Collection Celia Calfskin Pumps and accessorized with hoop earrings and a pendant necklace.
In the audience, the Princess of Wales beat the heat with a straw hat and a white fan. Charlotte was carrying her own matching fan, which she and her mom waved in between sharing comments on the game. The young princess was wearing a white dress trimmed in black with scalloped sleeves. She had her hair half up in braids and wore white patent leather Mary Janes.
Kate was appointed as patron of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club in 2016 by Queen Elizabeth. On her lapel, the princess wore a purple and green ribbon in honor of her role. On Friday, she sported the same bow while watching Amanda Anisimova face off against Iga Swiatek in the women's singles final.
For that event, Kate dressed in a white blazer top belted at the waist with a pleated white skirt. She presented the Venus Rosewater Dish to Swiatek for her win.
On July 2, during a visit to Colchester Hospital in Essex, Kate opened up about figuring out her new life balance following cancer treatment. The princess announced she was in remission in January of this year after completing chemotherapy last September.
'You put on a sort of brave face, stoicism through treatment. Treatment's done, then it's like, "I can crack on, get back to normal,"' she shared. 'But actually, the phase afterwards is really, really difficult.'
She continued, 'You have to find your new normal and that takes time...and it's a rollercoaster, it's not smooth, like you expect it to be. But the reality is you go through hard times.'

Paul George Mocks the Charlotte Hornets' Lack of Winning Culture

Paul George Mocks the Charlotte Hornets' Lack of Winning Culture originally appeared on Athlon Sports. When it was time for Paul George to decide where he would take his talents after his time with the Los Angeles Clippers, he joined the Philadelphia 76ers. Teaming up with Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey, the nine-time All-Star saw it as a chance to contend for the NBA championship. Advertisement In the latest episode of his show, "Podcast P with Paul George," the 76ers forward welcomed former NBA star Baron Davis. Davis spent the first three years of his career with the Charlotte Hornets, a franchise the two discussed. He even represented the organization in his third year when he made the All-Star team. In all three seasons with the Hornets, Davis led the franchise to the postseason. He was the No. 1 guy for the organization in his final year and had help from Jamal Mashburn. However, Charlotte isn't as successful as before. Even with star guard LaMelo Ball, the team is yet to make a playoff appearance since 2016. Philadelphia 76ers forward Paul George controls the ball against the Charlotte Hornets. Bill Streicher-Imagn Images While talking about the Hornets, George shared his thoughts about the franchise. According to him, it's not a place he'd want to sign with if he were a free agent. Not because it's a small market team, but because they haven't been successful over the years. Advertisement "Listen, if I'm in free agency, I'm not picking Charlotte, just because there's no winning culture there alone," George said. "Regardless, Charlotte is an amazing city, would love to play for it because of the city, like I could see myself living there, but in terms of a basketball standpoint? I'm not going, my career's over with if I go there." Since being part of the league as an expansion team in 1988, the Hornets haven't made an appearance in the conference finals. The team's four trips to the second round of the playoffs were its deepest run. Additionally, the franchise has only made the postseason 10 times. USMNT: Agyemang completes reported $8 million move to Derby County

Patrick Agyemang is officially an American Abroad, as the U.S. men's national team striker's long-rumored move to Derby County was confirmed Tuesday. The now-former Charlotte FC forward is heading to the English Championship in a deal widely reported to be worth an initial fee of $8 million, with a potential for that figure to rise to $10 million should some unspecified bonus requirements be met. Agyemang's transfer caps off a wild 18 months for the Connecticut native. After starting his pro career off with Charlotte's MLS Next Pro affiliate Crown Legacy FC (where he scored 10 times in 12 appearances), Agyemang was called up to MLS. The early returns weren't anything to write home about: four goals in 16 appearances in all competitions, including just one in 12 MLS league matches. However, Agyemang grew in stature in 2024, scoring 10 goals after taking over as the full-time starter under Dean Smith. That in turn caught the eye of new USMNT boss Mauricio Pochettino, who gave the 6-foot-4 striker his first cap in January. Agyemang scored on his debut, and was first-choice throughout this summer's Gold Cup (where he scored two goals). Overall, Agyemang has five goals in his 12 USMNT appearances, and leaves Charlotte having scored eight times in 18 matches this season. Derby will need him to carry on performing at a high level. The Derbyshire-based club were relegated to League One after the 2021-22 season thanks in significant part to a 21-point penalty over financial problems, with the possibility of folding not completely out of the question. The Rams climbed back into the Championship after two seasons, but needed to collect seven points from the final three matches of the season to stay up. Derby finished 19th last season, avoiding the drop by a single point. Agyemang's transfer wasn't necessarily one that Charlotte stood in the way of, but Smith — who has played and coached in the English second tier — last week cautioned the target man to go elsewhere if he was dead set on leaving MLS. L'Equipe had linked Agyemang to interest from Ligue 1 clubs Lens and Nice. "I've had the conversation with Patrick and my answer was, I don't think he should [go to Derby]," Smith said at a press conference. "The Championship is not too much different from MLS. This is a major league over here. You're going to a second league in the U.K."
