CAIRO – 31 March 2025: President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi performed the prayer Eid al-Fitr (the Feast of Breaking the Fast) at Field Marshal Tantawi Mosque in Cairo.
Egyptians celebrated the first day of Eid al-Fitr, Monday, after Dar al-Ifta announced that the Shawwal crescent moon wasn't sighted on March 29.
President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi extended greetings to Egyptian people as well as the Arab and Muslim nations on Eid Al-Fitr in a social media post on Sunday.
'I extend my heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to the great Egyptian people and to the Arab and Islamic nations,' the president said.
'I pray to Allah, the Almighty, to bring Eid to us filled with goodness, blessings, and prosperity, and to protect our beloved homeland, Egypt, making it always and forever a place of progress, prosperity, security, and stability.'
First Lady Entissar Amer also wished Egyptians lasting health and happiness.
'I pray for Allah to bless our days and to bestow goodness, blessings, and prosperity for us and our beloved homeland during the Eid,' the first lady stated.

He expressed their desire to implement relief activities as soon as possible for Palestinians residing in Egypt and those in need in Gaza, in cooperation with the Turkish Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD), the Turkish Red Crescent, and Turkish civil society organizations. OPEN// Egypt, Nigeria FMs discuss economic ties and African security
CAIRO, June 7 (MENA) – Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Expatriates Minister Badr Abdelatty praised the strong ties and historical relationship between Egypt and Nigeria, highlighting a shared commitment to building on existing opportunities to advance cooperation—particularly in economic, trade, and investment sectors, with a focus on agriculture. During a phone call on Saturday with Nigerian Foreign Minister Yusuf Tuggar, Abdelatty pointed to the significant presence of Egyptian companies across Africa and voiced interest in exploring new joint investment opportunities that offer mutual benefit. The two ministers exchanged views on developments across the African continent and discussed ways to deepen cooperation and coordinate positions within the African Union to strengthen peace and security—especially in the Sahel region. Abdelatty reaffirmed Egypt's readiness to support efforts to counter terrorism and extremism in light of security threats in the Sahel. He also emphasized Egypt's commitment to supporting Nigeria through capacity-building programs, including cooperation with Al-Azhar in combating extremist ideologies. The conversation also included an exchange of perspectives on Middle East developments, particularly the situation in Gaza. Abdelatty briefed his Nigerian counterpart on Egypt's ongoing efforts to broker a ceasefire and ensure the delivery of humanitarian aid, while condemning Israel's continued violations of international law and international humanitarian law and its actions against Palestinian civilians, which he said run counter to global calls for an immediate end to the war and unimpeded humanitarian access. Palestinian President Sultan of Oman discuss efforts to end war, achieve peace
Basant Ahmed Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas discussed with Sultan Haitham bin Tariq of Oman efforts to end the war and achieve peace, including a permanent ceasefire, ensuring the flow of humanitarian aid, and the full withdrawal of the occupation from the Gaza Strip.
