Mukesh Chhabra Did Not Cast Ranbir Kapoor As Ram In Ramayana: 'Itne Badi Film...'

While Ranbir Kapoor is playing the role of Ram in Ramayana, Sai Pallavi will be seen essaying the role of Sita. Casting director Mukesh Chhabra has opened up about choosing the cast of Nitesh Tiwari's much-awaited movie, Ramayana, which stars Ranbir Kapoor as lord Ram. In a recent interview, Chhabra shared details of working on the project and revealed that he wanted to go for the actors who have 'calmness" on their face. 'Usmein yahi tha ki sabke jo chehre hain na, jo Ram ji ki duniya hai aur doosri duniya hai, unke chehron mein thoda, you know, ek difference dikhana hai, ki duniya kaisi hai, alag-alag. Aur sabke chehron mein ek calmness thi, theek hai? Woh jo ek world hai na, woh duniya, usmein sabki Hindi bhi bahut, jis hesaab se Ram ki duniya hai, woh Hindi bahut acchi thi," Mukesh Chhabra told Bollywood Bubble. 'Yeh sab brief tha. Aur humko ek cheez clear thi, ki Lakshman ke chehre mein ek calmness hai, Bharat ke chehre mein bhi ek calmness hai. Jo brief mein mujhe diya gaya tha; ki iske andar anger hai, iske andar thoda aur emotion hai, woh jo character brief hota hai, woh humein detail mein diya jaata hai," the casting director added. However, Mukesh Chhabra also revealed that he is not the person behind Ranbir Kapoor's casting in the Nitesh Tiwari directorial. 'Nahi nahi, woh pehle ho gaya. Pehle woh waala ho chuka tha. Yeh Ramayan mein ho gaya. Ramayan ek bahut badi picture hai, right? Kyunki uske liye bada star chahiye, itni badi film banane ke liye. But baaki sab discussions ka main hissa tha," he shared. Who Is Playing What In Ramayana? While Ranbir Kapoor is playing the role of Ram, Sai Pallavi will be seen essaying the role of Sita. KGF star Yash will now be seen as Ravana in this movie. Sunny Deol, Ravie Dubey will play the roles of Hanuman and Laxma,n respectively. On the other hand, Kajal Aggarwal and Rakul Preet Singh will be seen as Mandodri and Surpanakha. Arun Govil, Kunal Kapoor, Adinath Kothare, Sheeba Chaddha and Indira Krishnan are also a part of this project. A Look At Ramayana's Teaser Ramayana starts from the roots – the trinity of Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva who rule the world. Relentless Conviction to bring the Greatest Epic of all time to the World. An outcome through a collaboration of some of the world's best to ensure that Ramayana is presented with the greatest amount of Reverence and Respect. Welcome to the Beginning. Let's Celebrate the IMMORTAL story of Rama v/s Ravana. Our Truth. Our History," wrote the makers while sharing the first look.
