Mumbai: Despite repaying a loan that she had taken from an online app, a 25-year-old woman was harassed and her morphed nude images were sent to her relatives and friends. The Oshiwara Police have registered an FIR against unidentified accused persons. The woman lives in Jogeshwari with her family. She saw an advertisement on Instagram about an app that provides instant cash loans. She downloaded the app on her phone around 2.30 pm on July 20. She applied for a loan of Rs 2000 for six days and provided personal information including her bank account number on the app. She also uploaded a copy of her Aadhaar card. Shortly afterwards, she received a sum of Rs 1300 as loan disbursement in her bank account. After six days had passed, she received a text message asking for the loan to be repaid. She responded that she did not have liquidity at the moment and would need a couple of days. But the sender texted her again, demanding immediate repayment else threatening to circulate her morphed nude images on social media. She repaid Rs 2000 the same day via QR code. But around 7 pm that day, her aunt received her morphed nude images from an unknown number. Next, a male friend of hers also received similar images and informed her about it. The woman was terrified and confided in her father. They then approached the Oshiwara police. Gurmeet Choudhary On June 3, Gurmeet Choudhary reported a theft at his home after a newly-hired house help fled with his personal belongings just hours after being employed. The actor said, 'We had hired a new house help through an agency, and I was in the process of getting his documents verified. We were also alert because we had just hired him on Tuesday. I was spending time with my babies when I noticed my headphones and phones were missing, and the house help had suddenly disappeared.' Gurmeet immediately contacted the agency through which he had hired the house help and managed to recover the stolen items within a few hours. 'I am grateful we got our belongings back and my babies are safe. One has to be vigilant; it's important to verify details before hiring anybody. I am not aware of the guy's whereabouts because the agency says he has gone missing again. I have informed the Oshiwara Police about the incident.
