Six people hospitalised after three-car pile-up south of Brisbane
Police were called about 8pm on Saturday to Logan over reports of a serious crash.
Officers said the woman in her 20s had been driving a grey Hyundai i30, turning off Teviot Road into Cusack Lane in South Maclean when it was struck by a white Ford Falcon travelling south along Teviot Road.
The two vehicles then collided with a silver Mazda 2, which was travelling north along Teviot Road.
The woman suffered potentially life-threatening injuries to her head, abdomen and pelvis. She was rushed to the Princess Alexandra Hospital and remained in a critical but stable condition on Sunday morning.
Police said another eight people suffered minor injuries in the crash, including the woman's passenger, five occupants of the Ford Falcon, and two people in the Mazda 2.
Of the injured, two were taken to Logan Hospital and three to the Princess Alexandra Hospital, all in stable conditions.
Officers from the forensic crash unit had opened an investigation by Sunday morning.
'Investigations into the circumstances surrounding the crash, including whether speed was a factor, are continuing,' police said in a statement.

New clues in 25-year-old suspected murder case of Melissa Trussell and her mother
Two new clues have been identified in the suspected murder of a teenage girl and her mother 25 years ago. Police have released details of two cars they are now seeking information about, as they continue to investigate the disappearance of Melissa Trussell, then aged 15, and her mother Rosemary Brown, then 33, in Adelaide in the year 2000. It comes as detectives have ruled out a car recently found submerged in water near where Brown's body was found. Melissa and her mother were last seen in Blair Athol, in Adelaide's north, about 2.30am on Saturday, May 13. Brown's body was found seven weeks later on July 2, in mangroves at Garden Island in Adelaide's northwest, but Melissa's body has never been found. Police suspect they were both murdered, with the rewards now totalling $1.2 million for anyone who provides information and assistance that leads to the conviction of the person or persons responsible. A car which was found submerged at Garden Island on July 24 this year has been dismissed as 'no longer of interest' in the investigation. It was found in the search area at Port Adelaide, near where Brown's body had been found, and examined by Water Operations Unit divers before being ruled out. However, a 'positive' public response to the investigation has since led to new clues, Major Crime Investigation Branch officer-in-charge Detective Superintendent Darren Fielke said. 'As a direct result of information provided by members of the public, two new vehicles of interest have been identified,'' he said. 'This is a particularly disturbing case. A mother was murdered and her body disposed of and her teenage child remains missing, believed murdered. 'We believe that more than one person was involved in this horrific crime. These offenders murdered a mother and a 15-year-old child. 'Someone knows something about these murders and we implore those who know anything about this case to contact Crime Stoppers.' The first vehicle is a blue-coloured Ford XD Falcon sedan which a member of the public saw on several nights in the Osborne area in the days following the disappearance of Melissa and her mother, but prior to Brown's body being found. The second vehicle is a fawn-coloured Holden VB Commodore sedan with a distinctive brown trim on the lower part of the vehicle. Police said they would like to again speak to the person who called and provided valuable information in relation to that vehicle, which they said has assisted with progressing the investigation and for which the investigators are 'very grateful'. The caller is urged to contact police again via Crime Stoppers. Police are also appealing for anyone else who might have information about either of these two vehicles. This includes anyone who saw the blue Ford Falcon in the Osborne or Garden Island areas between May 13 and July 2, 2000, or who has any information about the fawn Holden VB Commodore. Fielke said investigations into cold case murders and long-term missing persons were challenging but 'there is a dogged determination on the part of the detectives assigned to this investigation to identify and prosecute those responsible for the murder of Rosemary and Melissa'. 'It is vitally important for the family and also to ensure those responsible are held accountable for their actions,'' he said. A reward for information and assistance that leads to the conviction of the person or persons responsible for the suspected murder of Melissa was earlier this year increased to $1 million, while there is a $200,000 reward on offer to solve Brown's murder. 'These rewards are a significant amount of money and can be life-changing for anyone who has information and is willing to come forward and assist,' Fielke said. 'Now is the time to come forward.' 16-year-old Toowoomba boys charged with 34 property and traffic offences
Don't miss out on the headlines from QLD News. Followed categories will be added to My News. Police had been searching for a stolen RAV4 since it was used in connection to the theft of a second vehicle, a white 2008 Toyota Kluger, from a Taylor Street service station about 5.30am on Friday. It had been sighted several times throughout Friday and was linked to a carjacking on Hume Street, where a man was approached by an offender armed with a knife. The offender demanded the man's keys to his white 2019 Mazda 2 hatchback (Qld rego 695LE9), and he complied. At about 1pm the RAV4 was sighted speeding north on Ruthven Street. Dashcam footage obtained by the Chronicle shows the RAV4 driving into oncoming traffic. A short time later the vehicle crashed at the intersection of West and Russell Street, flipping onto its roof in the centre of the roundabout. Police swarmed the intersection and arrested the 16-year-old. The 16-year-old boy was held in custody through the weekend, charged with 34 offences. These included breaking into 17 homes and businesses, five counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle and one count of dangerous driving. The boy will face the Toowoomba Childrens Court on Monday. Police investigations into Friday's robberies continue and anyone with information, including dashcam footage, is urged to contact police. Teenager attacked by six men armed with machetes at Werribee Plaza shopping centre, southwest Melbourne
A teenager has been allegedly attacked by six men armed with machetes in a shopping centre. The incident targeting the 14-year-old occurred at Werribee Plaza on Heaths Rd in Hoppers Crossing, in Melbourne's southwest, about 4.40pm on Saturday. The boy was rushed to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Police said the six offenders fled the scene in a black Hyundai i30 sedan and remain at large as of Sunday afternoon. The investigation is ongoing. Local residents said they are 'utterly fed up' with the violence and what they see as weak government action on machetes. 'They say, 'Oh, we've made a law that they're not allowed to buy machetes.' Big deal — they don't have to buy them, they've got them already,' one resident told 7NEWS. While it is currently illegal to sell machetes in Victoria, the ban on possessing them will not come into effect until September 1. Just two days before the alleged attack, a brawl broke out in the same shopping centre. In that incident, two people were hospitalised after a knife fight inside JD Sports on Thursday night. Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
