Does Alia Bhatt have a cameo in War 2 post-credits scene?
Earlier, Alia Bhatt sparked curiosity among fans when she shared War 2 trailer on her Instagram Story. Captioning it, 'Mazedaaaaaar See you on the 14th. In a cinema near meee," the post initially seemed like a routine gesture of support. However, her specific mention of a cinema 'near me" quickly fuelled speculation about a potential cameo in the film's post-credit scene.
A report by India Today claimed that both Alia and Sharvari were expected to feature in a mysterious post-credit sequence designed to tease the storyline of Alpha. 'It's short, yes, but it has tension, mystery, and a hint of what these two women are capable of. It's not just a cameo — it's a setup," a source told the outlet.
Another insider added that the sequence was filmed under extreme secrecy earlier this year, with only a select few crew members present to maintain confidentiality. However, neither Alia nor Shavari feature in War 2.

YRF's spy universe has a woman problem, and it's beyond bikinis
How YRF's spy universe treats its women. From L-R, Vaani Kapoor in 'War', Kiara Advani in 'War 2', and Deepika Padukone in 'Pathaan' (Photo: Movie stills) YRF's spy universe sidelines women to damsels or domestic roles All the films in the spy universe so far hardly give any agency to women From Katrina, Deepika to Kiara and Vaani - women are ornamental, not operational What is wrong with YRF's spy universe? No, really. It's not just about 'War 2' - though, sure, that's the weakest film in the franchise, but that rant is for another day. Today's agenda: why does this globe-trotting prestige spy franchise have a glaring woman problem? Why are its women either dying, playing damsels in distress, or retreating into domestic bliss the moment they meet their male counterparts on a mission? We get it - this is the Tiger-Pathaan-Kabir show. But would it hurt the makers to let the women keep some agency? Take Katrina Kaif's Zoya from the 'Tiger' series - the most promising female character they've had so far. We didn't even mind her falling for Salman Khan's Tiger. We even cheered at her bridal-song frolics. But once she tied the knot, she tied her own story shut. Zoya started as a formidable ISI agent with skills to match Tiger's, but by 'Tiger Zinda Hai', she was busy raising a child off-mission. Sure, she pops back in 'Tiger 3' to help Tiger save the day, but has mostly been kept away in the supporting wife folder while the hero's arc wins the spotlight. Then there's Vaani Kapoor in 'War'. She didn't even get to play a supporting wife/ girlfriend bit. She turned up, looked stunning in a bikini, and while we were busy appreciating Hrithik Roshan's sharp cheekbones and that Greek God tan, she died - so Kabir's revenge could take centre stage. Kiara Advani in 'War 2'? A slight upgrade. She does get one tiny action scene as an Air Force officer - but only so she can deliver 'I lost him' and vanish from the plot, while Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR take over. For a decorated officer, her biggest narrative purpose is to be ornamental - in bright co-ords dancing around choicest locations in Europe, to make Hrithik look hotter. From a medal-receiving ceremony, to the bikini-and-ganji shots in Spain - character development? No. That term you are looking for is character demolition. Next up: Deepika Padukone. Her turn in 'Pathaan' could have been a turning point - a big-ticket star, an actor with proven skills, the perfect chance to finally write a solid female spy. But what really do we remember of her Rubina from 'Pathaan'? Be honest. Let's say it together: the 'Besharam' stint, and for falling into the villain's trap so that Pathaan can unleash his meaningless, physics-defying stunts - on ice, in water, mid-air and where not! And no, don't come saying the spy universe is suddenly on a redemption arc by tossing us one women-led film. In 'Alpha', Alia is the main character, so yes, she will command her own space in the story. But that's not the point, is it? The question remains: what has this universe actually done for its women so far? Didn't Deepika, Kiara, Katrina, and Vaani deserve arcs that went beyond being a prop, a mere device, or a pretty face in a shot steeply focussed on their bare bodies somewhere in Italy? Why is it that the men in this universe get entire franchises, layered backstories, and impossible stunts, while the women get a beach/ pool scene, a bridal gown, or a death to further the hero's pain? YRF's spy universe is expansive, but can it try expanding beyond the imagination of a teenage boy writing fan-fiction? What is wrong with YRF's spy universe? No, really. Shwetha Menon Scripts History As AMMA's First Female President; Cuckoo Parameshwaran Secures Landmark Win
Last Updated: Shwetha Menon became the first female President of AMMA, with Cuckoo Parameshwaran elected as General Secretary, marking a historic leadership shift. In a landmark moment for the Malayalam film industry, women have, for the first time, won two key posts in the Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (A.M.M.A). Actress Shwetha Menon created history by becoming the first female President of the association, while Cuckoo Parameshwaran became the first woman to be elected General Secretary. Ansiba Hassan was elected unopposed as the Joint Secretary. The elections were held following the resignation of the previous committee, led by Mohanlal, in August 2024. The committee had stepped down after allegations of sexual harassment against some of its office bearers, including Siddique and Babu Raj, surfaced in the controversial Hema Committee report. For the President's post, Shwetha Menon contested against actor-turned-BJP leader Devan. Cuckoo Parameshwaran faced veteran actor Raveendran in the race for General Secretary. Speaking after her victory, Shwetha Menon said, 'Thank you to all the family members. Media, thank you so much for coming. You were all telling till now that we need women at the head of A.M.M.A and now it has happened. Hope we will get the support." In July 2025, nominations for the 17-member executive committee of the Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (A.M.M.A), and with nearly 110 nomination forms were taken for the electoral battle. The association currently has around 500 members. Kerala HC recently ordered interim stay on proceedings in FIR against Shwetha Menon Earlier this month, a case was registered against Shwetha Menon based on a complaint alleging that she acted in films and advertisements containing obscene and vulgar content with the intent of earning money. Shwetha approached the Kerala High Court seeking to quash the case, and the court has now quashed further proceedings. The development came at a crucial time, amid Shwetha contesting for the post of president in the Association of Malayalam Movie Artistes (A.M.M.A). The elections were scheduled for August 15. With growing support for her candidature, there was increasing speculation that the association might get a woman president for the first time. Who is Shwetha Menon? An accomplished performer, Shwetha Menon is a two-time winner of the Best Actress award at the Kerala State Film Awards. She has worked extensively in Malayalam and Hindi cinema, and was crowned Femina Miss India Asia Pacific in 1994. Shwetha Menon and Cuckoo Parameshwaran's historic win in top A.M.M.A position marks a significant shift in the leadership of the influential industry body, signalling greater representation for women in Malayalam cinema's governing bodies. War 2: Kiara Advani Wishes ‘Dearest' Ayan Mukerji Happy Birthday With Unseen Pic
Hrithik Roshan, Jr NTR and Kiara Advani's high-octane spy thriller War 2 hit theatres on August 14, coinciding with the release of Rajinikanth's Coolie. Kiara Advani gave fans a delightful treat as she wished filmmaker Ayan Mukerji a happy birthday with an unseen behind-the-scenes picture from the sets of War 2. The actress took to her Instagram Stories to share the snap, calling him her 'dearest director" and adding a heartfelt birthday message. Taking to her Instagram stories, Kiara Advani shared a photo in which she is seen posing with Hrithik Roshan and Ayan Mukerji. 'happy happy birthday my dearest director Ayan Mukerji," wrote the caption. Directed by Ayan Mukerji, War 2 is the latest chapter in Yash Raj Films' ever-expanding Spy Universe. Hrithik Roshan returns as Major Kabir Dhaliwal, but this time the stakes are even higher — Kabir has gone rogue, emerging as India's most dangerous villain. War 2: Hrithik Roshan, Jr NTR and Kiara Advani's high-octane spy thriller War 2 hit theatres on August 14, coinciding with the release of Rajinikanth's Coolie. Directed by Ayan Mukerji and produced by Yash Raj Films, the film opened to solid box office numbers despite clashing with another massive release. Fans flocked to theatres to watch the action-packed drama, curious to see Hrithik and Jr NTR share the screen for the first time. Despite mixed critical reviews, War 2 managed a strong Day 1 collection, proving the pull of its star cast and YRF branding. War 2 Day 1 Box Office Report According to early estimates from Sacnilk, War 2 earned Rs 52.50 crore on its opening day across all languages. The Hindi version led the collections with Rs 29 crore, while Telugu contributed Rs 23.25 crore, and a minor Rs 0.25 crore came from other languages. While these numbers are impressive, Coolie edged ahead on Day 1, grossing around Rs 65 crore in India. Industry watchers are now keen to see how both films perform over the extended Independence Day weekend, with audiences split between Rajinikanth's mass entertainer and the YRF spy universe sequel. Jr NTR, in an official statement, reflected on his collaboration with Hrithik Roshan, saying, 'I think mine and Hrithik Roshan garu's careers started at the same time. When I watched Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai long back, I went mad. He is one of the greatest dancers in the country right now. My journey started off by admiring him. After all these years, I got the chance to act and dance with him." Audience response: War 2 has been widely praised for the on-screen chemistry between Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR. News18 Showsha's review noted, 'Hrithik is in his comfort zone and he gives it his all to make Kabir earnest and charismatic. Jr NTR seems like the perfect fit for Vikram/Raghu as he gets to play to his strengths. He needed a larger-than-life image and a back story to justify his ambitions, and the makers provided him so. He matches Hrithik's intensity in equal measure, creating a magnetic interplay that turns every shared moment into a collision of tension and charm. Their chemistry is the kind that sparks scenes alive, making even dialogue-free sequences throbbing with unspoken energy. In a nutshell, Jr NTR's foray into Bollywood territory is nothing short of electric. And Anil Kapoor and Ashutosh Rana render ample support to them."
