Pregnant maid of honour kicked out: Bride fears stolen spotlight

We all know brides usually want their wedding day to be all about them, but sometimes, that desire for the spotlight can go a bit too far.
A bride has sparked outrage on Reddit's infamous 'bridezillas' page after she removed her pregnant best friend as maid of honour, claiming the baby bump might draw too much attention on her wedding day.
The Redditor, who is a mum to a three-year-old and four months pregnant with her second, shared the shocking news.
She'd been asked to be her best friend's maid of honour two years ago and was thrilled.
"I've been invited to my best friends wedding (as maid of honor) since she got engaged 2 years ago and I've been so excited for her," she wrote.
Even though her friend doesn't have kids, they were very close, often popping round to each other's houses and constantly texting.
"She's over at my house multiple times a week, we're always texting, etc and we've been talking about the wedding even in the past week," she explained.

Woman was shocked when her best friend told she can no longer be in the wedding.
Image: Liza Summer / Pexels
Then, out of the blue, things took a sudden turn while they were chatting about the upcoming October wedding.
"This morning she came over and I asked a question about the wedding and she paused for a minute so I was like ???? and then she said 'yeah about that, I've decided I don't think it's best for you to be there'."
Naturally, the maid of honour was stunned and asked why.
She said: "Although she's happy for me being pregnant, she thinks that having a pregnant woman right at the alter will take a lot of the spotlight off of her and even just being at the event might cause people to direct their focus on me and not the married couple."
The jaw-dropping moment left the Reddit user "floored."
This post quickly gained traction, with comments pouring in, mostly from people furious at the bride's incredibly self-centred move.
One user commented: 'You need to take a break from this friend. She's evolving into a bridezilla! She may have already asked someone to be MOH. If you hang out with her, the wedding is what she'll talk about. No shower, no gifts, no attendance, I'm sorry your friend is treating you this way.'
'What a narcissistic thing to say. This person is not your friend and never really has been. Do you want these selfish jealous people around your family, no. Get her out of your life and rest assured you'll never have to feel this way again about having a family,' another responded.
'Sometimes the trash takes itself out. If someone is so insecure that they're afraid they'll be upstaged at their own wedding, they have serious problem, and you don't need her in your life,' said another.

Next Stay Close ✕ 'Yukon' stands out as one of the highlight tracks from Bieber's latest album, 'SWAG'. Blending moody trap beats with introspective lyrics, the song feels made for reinterpretation. Earlier this month, Bieber unveiled 'SWAG' - his long-anticipated seventh studio album - without releasing any singles beforehand. It's his first full-length project since 'Justice' in 2021, following a hiatus shaped by health challenges, media scrutiny and deep personal growth. The album debuted at No 2 on the Billboard 200, earning strong commercial success. To mark the occasion, Bieber recently hosted a star-studded release party at Bird Street Club in West Hollywood, joined by the likes of Kendall Jenner, Kid Laroi and his wife Hailey, who played a key role in the album's rollout and branding. Adding to the buzz, SA's own global pop star Tyla was recently spotted vibing to 'Yukon' in a casual video clip, sparking playful suggestions online for a possible Bieber-Tyla collaboration. Though she hasn't responded to the buzz, fans remain hopeful that a musical meeting between the two might one day become a reality. Whether you're a fan of Bieber, J'Something, or simply good music that stirs the soul, this rendition is worth a listen - and a reminder that great music continues to inspire across borders and genres.

Simphiwe Dana posts and deletes claims of appropriation against Nomzamo Mbatha
Simphiwe Dana was quick with a post and delete post where she expressed disappointment over not being acknowledge as inspiration over a hairstyle. Image: Instagram/simphiwedana Multi-award winning musician Simphiwe Dana recently posted on Instagram and X about her disappointment over not being acknowledged as inspiration behind the hairstyles on actress Nomzamo Mbatha and "Shaka iLembe". While Dana deleted the posts, screenshots of her posts are making rounds online. One thing about internet users is that they have very quick fingertips and just because you delete something doesn't guarantee it will be erased from the internet. 'Honey, there's a difference between appreciation and appropriation. You're not the only one. I'm fed up. It's deeply disconcerting and cringe,' Dana wrote, with a picture of Mbatha from her Creme of Nature, ambassador reveal. The "Ndiredi" hitmaker is well-known for embracing Afrocentric hairstyles, having rocked them for most of her public career. Simphiwe Dana may have deleted her post but internet users have screenshots. Image: Instagram Video Player is loading. Next Stay Close ✕ Mbatha is also known to embrace her natural hair and often does Afrocentric hairstyles. For "Shaka iLembe", the female characters have Afrocentric hairstyles in line with the timeline of the show. Dana's claims have opened up a conversation online, with some claiming that the hairstyle is historic and the musician has no grounds. @MaBlackFreedomIstyle said: "saseMandulo esakho. This is ancient, before you were even born.🙏🏽are you sure @simphiwedana it's not you who copied the 1st ShakaZulu? Appreciate don't gatekeep historical hairstyles.❤️😅" @TsikaTinadzo·5hQueen, this is petty and beneath you. Your hairstyles aren't unique. You could also be accused of being a "copy cat", "appropriating" ancient West African hair art. Neither Mbatha or the representives of "Shaka iLembe" have responded to the musician's claims but with her having deleted her post, it will be hard for them to do so. Dana earlier this month, expressed how her trust had been taken advantage of. According to the artist, the exploitation began five years ago, and she feels betrayed. 'I'm actually getting madder by the moment. I know I bring genius things. For the past five years, I've been stolen from. And my people have been a part of it. I'm tired. The betrayal is painful,' said Dana. IOL Entertainment
