Is Hong Kong v Manchester United on TV? Kick-off time, channel and how to watch friendly

Independenta day ago

Manchester United 's miserable season will finally reach its end in the second largely meaningless friendly of an unwelcome postseason tour for Ruben Amorim 's side.
The tourists suffered a shock defeat to the ASEAN All Stars in Kuala Lumpur on Wednesday and have since headed north to take on Hong Kong.
A national side ranked 153rd in the world may be strangely confident of victory given how listless and lethargic Manchester United's beleaguered players seemed in Malaysia, with Amorim admitting afterwards that his squad perhaps deserved to be booed.
Will there be anything brighter for what should be another strong crowd at the Hong Kong Stadium?
Here's everything you need to know.
When is Hong Kong vs Manchester United?
Hong Kong vs Manchester United is due to kick off at 1pm BST on Friday 30 May at the Hong Kong Stadium.
How can I watch it?
Viewers in the United Kingdom that wish to tune in to the friendly can do so via MUTV.
Harry Maguire, Andre Onana and Diogo Dalot flew to India after the encounter with the ASEAN All Stars on a sponsors' trip, and are thus unavailable for this game. Luke Shaw has also been ruled out by Ruben Amorim, though Matthijs de Ligt, Mason Mount and Joshua Zirkzee could feature having missed the fixture in Malaysia.

Bruno Fernandes posts cryptic message as Man Utd transfer exit deadline set

Saudi Pro League side Al Hilal want to sign Bruno Fernandes ahead of the Club World Cup and Manchester United are concerned their captain could now be heading for the exit door Bruno Fernandes appears to have dropped a hint over his Manchester United future after posting a cryptic message on his Instagram story. The Portuguese attacking midfielder is understood to have been set a deadline by Saudi Pro League side Al Hilal, who are willing to pay huge cash to bring him to the Middle East ahead of the Club World Cup in Saudi Arabia. There have been strong suggestions that Fernandes has effectively been given a week to decide his future after Al Hilal tabled an eye-watering proposal worth a reported £200million over three years. ‌ Al Hilal would also be prepared a significant fee to prise Fernandes away from Old Trafford even though Ruben Amorim wants to keep him at the club. ‌ Fernandes posted a Portuguese quote on his social media account which translates to: 'If you tried and failed, congratulations! There are people who don't even try.' The 31-year-old's agent Miguel Pinho has been in Riyadh for talks this week with Al Hilal executives and there is optimism that a deal could now be struck. Fernandes has been away on United's post-season tour of the Far East this week and he featured in their 3-1 friendly victory over Hong Kong on Friday. ‌ Speaking after the game, Red Devils boss Amorim made it clear that he didn't think his captain has now played his final game for the club. Amorim said: 'I don't think so. I don't know for sure, nobody knows, but I don't think so. I think he's seeing us taking some actions to change things and that's all he asks. I think he wants to stay. He is saying no to a lot of things, but that shows he wants to win. He's really young, he's really good, he needs to be in the best league in the world.' ‌ Al Hilal are understood to have told Fernandes that despite the fact they've courted the player for the past few years, this is a one-time offer. The Portugal international wants to win trophies but United are expected to be operating with limited finances this summer after losing the Europa League final to Spurs and missing out on Champions League football. United sources have repeatedly insisted that Fernandes is not for sale but if he pushes to quit Old Trafford, they will reluctantly accept the cash which will go towards funding their rebuild.

Insiders suggest one of the reasons for his departure is that responsibility for dead-ball situations was taken away from him by Ruben Amorim. Georgson arrived from Norwegian side Lillestrom, where he was head coach. But with the club finishing a disappointing 15th in the league and failing to secure European football, it is clear that changes were necessary. Georgson said: "It has been a fantastic experience serving as first-team coach at Manchester United. "I will always be proud of my association with such a great football club. "This period of my career has now come to an end as I leave to find a new challenge elsewhere. "While excited about the opportunities ahead, I am sad to be leaving so many great colleagues and friends at Carrington, who make Manchester United truly special.
