LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) — Mystik Dan snapped a five-race losing streak with a 1 1/4-length victory in the $270,000 Blame Stakes on Saturday at Churchill Downs, where he won the 2024 Kentucky Derby. Mystik Dan won the 150th Derby by a nose in the closest three-horse photo finish since 1947. With Dancing With the Stars set to come back for a 34th season this fall, there's a long list of celebrities who deserve to compete on the dance floor. Three of our past suggestions came true: Frankie Muniz (third place, Season 25), Kel Mitchell (second place, Season 28), and Jamie Lynn Spears (13th place, Season 32). Robert Irwin and Alix Earle have already been confirmed for next season. With that background in mind, she'd make an exciting addition to the competition. Recording artists who've previously contended for the Mirror Ball trophy include Mya (Season 9 runner-up), Nicole Scherzinger (Season 10 champ), Brandy (Season 11), Normani Kordei (Season 24), and Jason Mraz (Season 32 runner-up). This actress is best known for her roles as Lorelai on Gilmore Girls and Sarah on Parenthood. Not only that, but she's also tackled singing and dancing on Broadway as Adelaide in the 2009 revival of Guys & Dolls. With that background, coupled with her nostalgia factor, she would be an exciting addition to the competition. This social media personality has a huge following. Her main YouTube channel alone has almost 17 million subscribers while her two channels have a combined total of more than 3 billion views. TikTok star Charli D'Amelio managed to win Season 31. If any famous YouTuber deserves a shot at the Mirror Ball Trophy, it's Koshy. The professional figure skater is the 2025 Four Continents bronze medalist, 2021 Golden Spin of Zagreb bronze medalist, the 2018 U.S. International Figure Skating Classic bronze medalist, the Philadelphia Summer International silver medalist, and the 2021 Cranberry International silver medalist. He's also competed in nine senior U.S. national championships. Figure skaters have won DWTS three times before: Kristi Yamaguchi (Season 6), Meryl Davis (Season 18), and Adam Rippon (Season 26). So maybe Ma should consider trading in his ice skates for dancing shoes. This actor is best known for his roles as Lucas Scott on One Tree Hill and Jake in Disney's 2003 remake of Freaky Friday. This actor first came on the scene as drummer Guy Patterson in Tom Hanks' 1996 cult film, That Thing You Do!. Since then, he's appeared on several popular TV shows such as ER, Law & Order, Southland, 13 Reasons Why, and currently The Summer I Turned Pretty. Nearly 20 years later, it's about time he trades in those drumsticks for dancing shoes. This actress-singer burst onto the scene in the coveted role of Dorothy in NBC's The Wiz Live! in 2015. Bryan Cranston Says Filming MALCOLM IN THE MIDDLE Revival Was "So Rewarding" Since the "Whole Family" is "Back Together" — GeekTyrant
Actor Bryan Cranston recently returned to a fan-favorite role, and seeing as how a Walter White continuation isn't possible, it means we will be seeing him back as the head of the Wilkerson family, Hal, in the revival of Malcom in the Middle . It's been nearly two decades since the original run of the series ended, but now that they've wrapped production, Cranston said filming the forthcoming limited revival for Disney+ was nothing short of 'so rewarding.' Cranston told People he was looking forward to stepping back into the role of patriarch Hal. 'Slipping back into that character of Hal for me was so rewarding — I missed him. It's been almost 20 years since we said goodbye. And he's a sweet, lovable man. He's really a lovable guy, and it was fun to see all my whole family back together. It was great.' Adding of how he got back into character, Cranston said, 'It's a short-sleeve shirt that Hal would wear, a patterned short-sleeve shirt that screams out he's not going anywhere.' Malcolm in the Middle was both a hit for Fox and admired by critics, winning a total of seven Emmys across the same number of seasons when it aired from 2000 to 2006. Also garnering a Grammy and Peabody, the show centered on a gifted teen trying to come of age in a chaotic household full of loud and oft-dimwitted grownups and siblings. The forthcoming reboot will follow Malcolm (Frankie Muniz) and his daughter (newcomer Keeley Karsten) as they are drawn back into the boisterous family's chaos when Hal and Lois (Jane Kaczmarek) demand his presence at their 40th wedding anniversary festivities. Also reprising their roles are Christopher Masterson and Justin Berfield, who portrayed Malcolm's older brothers, Francis and Reese, respectively. Caleb Ellsworth-Clark is taking over the role of genius Malcolm's younger brother, Dewey, an unsurprising casting change given that Erik Per Sullivan, who originated the role, was not expected to return as he quit acting in 2010 and has not participated in any of the show's reunions. Additional newcomers include Kiana Madeira as Malcolm's girlfriend; Anthony Timpano, cast as Malcolm's youngest brother, Jamie, who was seen as a baby and toddler on the original series; and Vaughan Murrae as Malcolm's youngest sibling, Kelly (who, like the character's actor, is nonbinary), whose existence was revealed in the series finale when Lois revealed her positive pregnancy test. Muniz — who had initially stepped away from acting — also shared similar sentiments of the filming process, saying, 'This experience was straight-up incredible — like stepping back into Malcolm's wild world but with all the love and chaos cranked to 11. Reuniting with the cast, getting to know some new characters, laughing till it hurt, and making new memories on set felt like a dream I didn't want to wake up from.'
