Liza Koshy, Chad Michael Murray lead our ‘Dancing With the Stars' Season 34 wish list

Yahooa day ago

With Dancing With the Stars set to come back for a 34th season this fall, there's a long list of celebrities who deserve to compete on the dance floor. Three of our past suggestions came true: Frankie Muniz (third place, Season 25), Kel Mitchell (second place, Season 28), and Jamie Lynn Spears (13th place, Season 32). Robert Irwin and Alix Earle have already been confirmed for next season. Below is a list of other celebs we think the show should consider inviting to the ballroom to vie for the next Mirror Ball Trophy. Do you agree with our picks? Vote in our poll at the bottom of this post to let us know which you'd most like to see on DWTS. And feel free to let us know in the reality TV forum what other stars you'd love to see when the show comes back in September.
This model, actress, illustrator, photographer, writer, designer, and activist was previously set to compete on Season 28, but suffered injuries to her wrist and arm that required emergency surgery. So her daughter, Sailor Brinkley-Cook, came in at the last minute, and was the third to be eliminated. Christie deserves another shot at the competition.

This actor has a nostalgia factor going for him from his recurring role as Luke Fuller on the ABC series, Dynasty, and starring role as Cliff Secord in Disney's 1991 cult film The Rocketeer. A spot on Dancing With the Stars would bring him back to the Mouse House.
This actor is best known for his starring role as Billy Peltzer in the Gremlins films. The property is still relevant given the current HBO Max animated prequel series. With that in mind coupled with his nostalgia factor, he'd be a worthy addition to the competition. Nostalgic stars are often big hits in the ballroom, including Season 19 champ Alfonso Ribeiro, Frankie Muniz, and Kel Mitchell.
This actress and former model has proven to be a triple threat from her roles as Holly Laird on the TV series, Fame, and Louise in the 1993 TV movie adaptation of Gypsy starring Bette Midler. Although like Season 11 champ Jennifer Grey, she might be accused of being a ringer due to her background. But despite this, it's time we see another mature female celebrity become a contender for the Mirror Ball Trophy.
She's already achieved success as a singer-songwriter from having earned three Latin Grammy nominations. Not only that, but she also got to show off her skills as a triple threat in the 2021 film adaptation of Lin-Manuel Miranda's musical, In the Heights. With that background in mind, she'd make an exciting addition to the competition. Recording artists who've previously contended for the Mirror Ball trophy include Mya (Season 9 runner-up), Nicole Scherzinger (Season 10 champ), Brandy (Season 11), Normani Kordei (Season 24), and Jason Mraz (Season 32 runner-up).
This actress is best known for her roles as Lorelai on Gilmore Girls and Sarah on Parenthood. Not only that, but she's also tackled singing and dancing on Broadway as Adelaide in the 2009 revival of Guys & Dolls. With that background, coupled with her nostalgia factor, she would be an exciting addition to the competition.
This social media personality has a huge following. Her main YouTube channel alone has almost 17 million subscribers while her two channels have a combined total of more than 3 billion views. TikTok star Charli D'Amelio managed to win Season 31. If any famous YouTuber deserves a shot at the Mirror Ball Trophy, it's Koshy.
The professional figure skater is the 2025 Four Continents bronze medalist, 2021 Golden Spin of Zagreb bronze medalist, the 2018 U.S. International Figure Skating Classic bronze medalist, the Philadelphia Summer International silver medalist, and the 2021 Cranberry International silver medalist. He's also competed in nine senior U.S. national championships. Figure skaters have won DWTS three times before: Kristi Yamaguchi (Season 6), Meryl Davis (Season 18), and Adam Rippon (Season 26). So maybe Ma should consider trading in his ice skates for dancing shoes.
This actor is best known for his roles as Lucas Scott on One Tree Hill and Jake in Disney's 2003 remake of Freaky Friday. He's also set to return for the upcoming sequel, Freakier Friday. As Disney is the parent company of ABC, which airs DWTS, it would make a lot of sense for him to enter the ballroom. Actors from teen drama shows have done well before, with James Van Der Beek coming close to making it to the finals in 2019.
Last season, Stephen Nedoroscik, the Clark Kent/Superman of the 2024 Olympic Games, made quite an impression in the ballroom, finishing in fourth place. With the iconic DC superhero about to be relevant again with a new movie coming out this summer, why not have an actor who's previously played the Man of Steel on the big screen (in 2006's Superman Returns) in addition to the Atom in the CW's Arrowverse compete as well?
This actor first came on the scene as drummer Guy Patterson in Tom Hanks' 1996 cult film, That Thing You Do!. Since then, he's appeared on several popular TV shows such as ER, Law & Order, Southland, 13 Reasons Why, and currently The Summer I Turned Pretty. Nearly 20 years later, it's about time he trades in those drumsticks for dancing shoes.
This actress-singer burst onto the scene in the coveted role of Dorothy in NBC's The Wiz Live! in 2015. Most recently, she appeared as Johnnie Mae in Tyler Perry's Netflix film, The Six Triple Eight. With her musical background in mind, she'd be a natural fit for the ballroom.

Artem Chigvintsev Drops $915K On New Purchase After Nikki Garcia Divorce Payout

is making moves, both personally and financially, following the finalization of his divorce from . Nearly two weeks after details of their settlement were made public, Artem Chigvintsev made a major purchase in California, signaling a fresh start as he looks ahead to the next chapter of his life. The 42-year-old "Dancing with the Stars" pro has purchased a new home in Napa, California, for $915,000, per Us Weekly. The 2,395-square-foot property features three bedrooms, two and a half bathrooms, and scenic views of nearby mountains, offering a fresh start for the newly single dad. The real estate move comes nearly two weeks after details of Chigvintsev's divorce settlement with Garcia were made public. The former couple, who share 4-year-old son, Matteo, officially settled their divorce out of court in November 2024 following a turbulent split. As The Blast previously reported, Garcia agreed to pay Chigvintsev $3,500 per month in child support and a lump sum of $200,000, with half to be paid immediately and the remainder due by the end of 2025. 'Divorce has to deal with the paper, the contract you signed during marriage. The day of marriage, at the court before marriage, whatever,' Garcia said during a May episode of her 'The Nikki & Brie Show' podcast, which she hosts with her sister. 'So, our settlement is what everyone saw. Yes, I had to give him $200,000. Spousal support, alimony.' Brie Garcia then quipped, 'That's what happens when you're the breadwinner.' The exes will also split holidays with their son. No further information regarding their custody arrangement was disclosed. Chigvintsev's new home is located just a few miles from the house he previously shared with Garcia, keeping him close to Matteo. A rep for the dancer tells Us Weekly, 'Mr. Chigvintsev's sole focus and highest priority remains the well-being of his son. With that in mind, he will not be providing any further comments regarding this personal matter and respectfully requests continued privacy for both himself and his son moving forward.' Chigvintsev and Garcia filed for divorce in August 2024 after an alleged physical altercation in Napa. Garcia claimed that Chigvintsev began yelling at her after she asked him to make their son Matteo's English muffin a bit crispier, accusing her of making Matteo a picky eater and refusing to let her speak. In her declaration, Garcia stated that she tried to defuse the tension by stepping away to load Matteo's belongings into the car. "I just wanted to get Matteo out of the house until Artem cooled off," she wrote. "I grabbed Matteo's shoes and told Matteo it was time to put his shoes on.' Garcia claimed that as Chigvintsev continued yelling, she became so overwhelmed that she threw their toddler's shoes at him, which hit his leg. She admitted it was a lapse in judgment, but emphasized the shoes were lightweight and couldn't have caused harm. Also in her divorce filing, Garcia alleged that a heated argument escalated when Chigvintsev became furious, grabbed their son Matteo, and ran upstairs. She followed, fearing for Matteo's safety, and said Chigvintsev tried to block her from entering their son's room. According to her statement, she managed to push the door open slightly and saw Matteo looking frightened. Artem then allegedly tackled her, pinned her to the ground, and later forced her into the bathroom, pressing on her chest until she felt like she was suffocating. Garcia claimed he stopped when he saw the panic in her eyes. When police arrived, Matteo reportedly told them, 'Daddy hurt my hand.' At the time, Chigvintsev was arrested and booked on a felony domestic violence charge. He was released on bail the same day. Both parties filed restraining orders against each other in the weeks that followed, though they were later dropped. Despite the headlines, both Chigvintsev and Garcia appear focused on co-parenting their son and moving forward with their lives separately. The new home marks a significant step in that process for Chigvintsev as he begins this next chapter, with Matteo at the center of it.

‘Everybody Expecting' Brooke Burke & Scott Rigsby's Wedding Will ‘Happen Soon': ‘A Wonderful Match'

Despite Brooke Burke postponing her wedding to fiancée Scott Rigsby, a source exclusively tells Life & Style the nuptials will go ahead eventually as she's more focused on making sure the event is perfect than rushing into formalities. 'She and Scott are still very much in love,' the insider says. 'She absolutely wants to marry him, but there's also no huge sense of urgency because she already feels like she's married to him. He's very much her partner.' The Dancing with the Stars alum, 63, got engaged to Scott, 49, in 2021, but still hasn't penned a date for their wedding after four years, despite giving some dates in the past they ended up blowing by. Onlookers unfamiliar with their relationship might suggest they may never get hitched by the way things are going, though Brooke has discussed how much she's looking forward to the ceremony. 'Part of the hold up has been Brooke's perfectionism,' the source explains. "We really wanna design a wedding that we can enjoy — that's not just a big party for show," she told People in October 2023, adding they were 'committed to 2024' in the same interview. 'For me, it has to be meaningful or not at all, which is the challenge. To do something fabulous and grand and keep that intimacy and keep it special,' the former Wild On! host explained. Another reason for taking it slow is the fact both Brooke and her hubby-to-be want to take their time blending their families, as she and Scott share six kids between them. Brooke is a mother of four: to daughters Neriah, 25, and Sierra, 23, with ex-husband Garth Fisher, and daughter Rain, 18, and son Shaya, 17, who she shares with ex-husband David Charvet. While Scott is father to daughter Lila, 17, and son Levi, 14. Brooke said she has a 'great relationship' with her fiancée's kids, especially Levi. As for her own children's affections for their future stepdad: 'Everybody loves Scott. Thank God.' 'The kids are all on board, which is a blessing because I know how challenging that can be and [I] feel very lucky to be able to say that,' she explained. 'They're excited about our wedding, they're excited about life, they're excited about our new home — they just love him.' The insider adds, 'She has had her daughters help in this from the start, which has been such a joy, they are very happy for her and very invested in it. But that means a lot of cooks in the kitchen so decisions have taken longer.' Even with the delays, 'Everyone is expecting it to happen soon, they're incredibly happy and such a wonderful match. Brooke is one of the sweetest people you could meet and the great thing about Scott is that he cherishes that — he doesn't take advantage. He treats her like his queen, he knows he scored a huge jackpot with her and he doesn't take that for granted.' 'Brooke's been married twice before, but she says nothing has ever felt this easy and stress free before, they just work so well as a pair.'
