Liza Koshy, Chad Michael Murray lead our ‘Dancing With the Stars' Season 34 wish list

With Dancing With the Stars set to come back for a 34th season this fall, there's a long list of celebrities who deserve to compete on the dance floor. Three of our past suggestions came true: Frankie Muniz (third place, Season 25), Kel Mitchell (second place, Season 28), and Jamie Lynn Spears (13th place, Season 32). Robert Irwin and Alix Earle have already been confirmed for next season. Below is a list of other celebs we think the show should consider inviting to the ballroom to vie for the next Mirror Ball Trophy. Do you agree with our picks? Vote in our poll at the bottom of this post to let us know which you'd most like to see on DWTS. And feel free to let us know in the reality TV forum what other stars you'd love to see when the show comes back in September. This model, actress, illustrator, photographer, writer, designer, and activist was previously set to compete on Season 28, but suffered injuries to her wrist and arm that required emergency surgery. So her daughter, Sailor Brinkley-Cook, came in at the last minute, and was the third to be eliminated. Christie deserves another shot at the competition. More from GoldDerby 'RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars 10' recap: Mistress Isabelle Brooks brings the 'shenanigans and chaos' to the second bracket opener Marvel Studios executive, 'Black Panther' producer Nate Moore reportedly joins the 'Survivor 49' cast Adam David reflects on winning 'The Voice' and forgetting the lyrics on live television: It 'strengthened' me This actor has a nostalgia factor going for him from his recurring role as Luke Fuller on the ABC series, Dynasty, and starring role as Cliff Secord in Disney's 1991 cult film The Rocketeer. A spot on Dancing With the Stars would bring him back to the Mouse House. This actor is best known for his starring role as Billy Peltzer in the Gremlins films. The property is still relevant given the current HBO Max animated prequel series. With that in mind coupled with his nostalgia factor, he'd be a worthy addition to the competition. Nostalgic stars are often big hits in the ballroom, including Season 19 champ Alfonso Ribeiro, Frankie Muniz, and Kel Mitchell. This actress and former model has proven to be a triple threat from her roles as Holly Laird on the TV series, Fame, and Louise in the 1993 TV movie adaptation of Gypsy starring Bette Midler. Although like Season 11 champ Jennifer Grey, she might be accused of being a ringer due to her background. But despite this, it's time we see another mature female celebrity become a contender for the Mirror Ball Trophy. She's already achieved success as a singer-songwriter from having earned three Latin Grammy nominations. Not only that, but she also got to show off her skills as a triple threat in the 2021 film adaptation of Lin-Manuel Miranda's musical, In the Heights. With that background in mind, she'd make an exciting addition to the competition. Recording artists who've previously contended for the Mirror Ball trophy include Mya (Season 9 runner-up), Nicole Scherzinger (Season 10 champ), Brandy (Season 11), Normani Kordei (Season 24), and Jason Mraz (Season 32 runner-up). This actress is best known for her roles as Lorelai on Gilmore Girls and Sarah on Parenthood. Not only that, but she's also tackled singing and dancing on Broadway as Adelaide in the 2009 revival of Guys & Dolls. With that background, coupled with her nostalgia factor, she would be an exciting addition to the competition. This social media personality has a huge following. Her main YouTube channel alone has almost 17 million subscribers while her two channels have a combined total of more than 3 billion views. TikTok star Charli D'Amelio managed to win Season 31. If any famous YouTuber deserves a shot at the Mirror Ball Trophy, it's Koshy. The professional figure skater is the 2025 Four Continents bronze medalist, 2021 Golden Spin of Zagreb bronze medalist, the 2018 U.S. International Figure Skating Classic bronze medalist, the Philadelphia Summer International silver medalist, and the 2021 Cranberry International silver medalist. He's also competed in nine senior U.S. national championships. Figure skaters have won DWTS three times before: Kristi Yamaguchi (Season 6), Meryl Davis (Season 18), and Adam Rippon (Season 26). So maybe Ma should consider trading in his ice skates for dancing shoes. This actor is best known for his roles as Lucas Scott on One Tree Hill and Jake in Disney's 2003 remake of Freaky Friday. He's also set to return for the upcoming sequel, Freakier Friday. As Disney is the parent company of ABC, which airs DWTS, it would make a lot of sense for him to enter the ballroom. Actors from teen drama shows have done well before, with James Van Der Beek coming close to making it to the finals in 2019. Last season, Stephen Nedoroscik, the Clark Kent/Superman of the 2024 Olympic Games, made quite an impression in the ballroom, finishing in fourth place. With the iconic DC superhero about to be relevant again with a new movie coming out this summer, why not have an actor who's previously played the Man of Steel on the big screen (in 2006's Superman Returns) in addition to the Atom in the CW's Arrowverse compete as well? This actor first came on the scene as drummer Guy Patterson in Tom Hanks' 1996 cult film, That Thing You Do!. Since then, he's appeared on several popular TV shows such as ER, Law & Order, Southland, 13 Reasons Why, and currently The Summer I Turned Pretty. Nearly 20 years later, it's about time he trades in those drumsticks for dancing shoes. This actress-singer burst onto the scene in the coveted role of Dorothy in NBC's The Wiz Live! in 2015. Most recently, she appeared as Johnnie Mae in Tyler Perry's Netflix film, The Six Triple Eight. With her musical background in mind, she'd be a natural fit for the ballroom. Bryan Cranston Says Filming MALCOLM IN THE MIDDLE Revival Was "So Rewarding" Since the "Whole Family" is "Back Together" — GeekTyrant

Actor Bryan Cranston recently returned to a fan-favorite role, and seeing as how a Walter White continuation isn't possible, it means we will be seeing him back as the head of the Wilkerson family, Hal, in the revival of Malcom in the Middle . It's been nearly two decades since the original run of the series ended, but now that they've wrapped production, Cranston said filming the forthcoming limited revival for Disney+ was nothing short of 'so rewarding.' Cranston told People he was looking forward to stepping back into the role of patriarch Hal. 'Slipping back into that character of Hal for me was so rewarding — I missed him. It's been almost 20 years since we said goodbye. And he's a sweet, lovable man. He's really a lovable guy, and it was fun to see all my whole family back together. It was great.' Adding of how he got back into character, Cranston said, 'It's a short-sleeve shirt that Hal would wear, a patterned short-sleeve shirt that screams out he's not going anywhere.' Malcolm in the Middle was both a hit for Fox and admired by critics, winning a total of seven Emmys across the same number of seasons when it aired from 2000 to 2006. Also garnering a Grammy and Peabody, the show centered on a gifted teen trying to come of age in a chaotic household full of loud and oft-dimwitted grownups and siblings. The forthcoming reboot will follow Malcolm (Frankie Muniz) and his daughter (newcomer Keeley Karsten) as they are drawn back into the boisterous family's chaos when Hal and Lois (Jane Kaczmarek) demand his presence at their 40th wedding anniversary festivities. Also reprising their roles are Christopher Masterson and Justin Berfield, who portrayed Malcolm's older brothers, Francis and Reese, respectively. Caleb Ellsworth-Clark is taking over the role of genius Malcolm's younger brother, Dewey, an unsurprising casting change given that Erik Per Sullivan, who originated the role, was not expected to return as he quit acting in 2010 and has not participated in any of the show's reunions. Additional newcomers include Kiana Madeira as Malcolm's girlfriend; Anthony Timpano, cast as Malcolm's youngest brother, Jamie, who was seen as a baby and toddler on the original series; and Vaughan Murrae as Malcolm's youngest sibling, Kelly (who, like the character's actor, is nonbinary), whose existence was revealed in the series finale when Lois revealed her positive pregnancy test. Muniz — who had initially stepped away from acting — also shared similar sentiments of the filming process, saying, 'This experience was straight-up incredible — like stepping back into Malcolm's wild world but with all the love and chaos cranked to 11. Reuniting with the cast, getting to know some new characters, laughing till it hurt, and making new memories on set felt like a dream I didn't want to wake up from.' Stay tuned for updates on the show's return, as a release date has not yet been scheduled. via: Deadline

MALCOLM IN THE MIDDLE Reboot Wraps Production After Frankie Muniz "Proudly" Returns to Acting — GeekTyrant

The reboot of the beloved Malcolm in the Middle series has wrapped production, welcoming star of the show Frankie Muniz back to acting. The two-time Golden Globe nominee, who previously put his Hollywood career on hold to pursue NASCAR racing, revealed on Friday that he's wrapped the first season of the Disney+ revival, during which he was reminded 'how much I truly love being an actor.' Muniz wrote on X, 'Just wrapped filming the Malcolm in the Middle reboot, and man, I'm still reeling. This experience was straight-up incredible—like stepping back into Malcolm's wild world but with all the love and chaos cranked to 11. 'Reuniting with the cast, getting to know some new characters, laughing till it hurt, and making new memories on set felt like a dream I didn't want to wake up from. It went by so fast, like a blur of perfect moments. I wish it could go on forever.' 'I'm so happy to have gotten the chance to relive being on this show with a greater appreciation of what we were making knowing how many people around the world truly love Malcolm and his family. Another big thing I am taking away from this experience is how much I truly love being an actor. 'I never officially felt like that label fit me, but now I wear that label proudly and hope to do so much more of it in the future. I am so sad to have to say goodbye to my MITM crew, I love each and everyone of you.' 'And PS: Life's Still Unfair,' added Muniz, referencing the OG show's theme song 'Boss of Me' by They Might Be Giants. 'I had so many incredible pictures of all the cast I wanted to post but Disney won't let me…. So imagine a picture of all of us together, having the time of our lives!' Ahead of the show's 25th anniversary, a Disney+ revival was announced for a limited, four-episode run in December, with Muniz returning as Malcolm, alongside Bryan Cranston and Jane Kaczmarek reprising their roles as his parents Hal and Lois. Original cast members Christopher Masterson and Justin Berfield also returned to reprise their roles as Malcolm's brothers Francis and Reese, respectively, and they are joined by newcomers Caleb Ellsworth-Clark, who is taking over the role of Malcolm's (Muniz) brother, Dewey; Anthony Timpano who has been cast as Malcolm's youngest brother, Jamie, who was seen as a baby and toddler on the original series; and Vaughan Murrae who has been cast as Malcolm's youngest sibling, Kelly, whose existence was revealed in the series finale when the boys' mom, Lois, holds a positive pregnancy test. Additionally, Keeley Karsten has landed a key role in the revival as Malcolm's daughter, Leah, and Kiana Madeira is playing Malcolm's girlfriend. From 20th Television and New Regency, the Malcolm In the Middle revival will feature Malcolm (Muniz) and his daughter (Karsten) as they are drawn into the family's chaos when Hal (Cranston) and Lois (Kaczmarek) demand his presence for their 40th wedding anniversary party. Malcolm In the Middle creator Linwood Boomer returns as writer and executive producer. The four-episode revival is set to premiere later this year.

Frankie Muniz Reveals Pivotal 'Malcom in the Middle' News

Frankie Muniz of Malcolm in the Middle fame was less than pleased with a recent crash earlier this month. Just two weeks ago he suffered his fourth "did not finish" of the season after running into the wall with 25 laps to go in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race at Texas. Following the race Muniz didn't hold back on his unfortunate luck to begin his professional racing career. 'Just right front blew. I just, I cannot, I can't catch a break,' said at the time. 'You know what I mean? Let me wreck dudes, let me wreck myself, let me feel like I did something wrong but I – it's hard to keep coming. And like, it's not my team, it's none us, it's out of our control, and things just keep happening, and it's really – it's tough to stay motivated." "Honestly, I've got so much going on right now, and I'm like, man, give me a win. Like a win, like, feeling like we finished the race, I thought we were racing good and you know, doing alright. Just out of my control again. I'm over it, to be honest.' Muniz wasn't about to just give up, though. "Just landed back in Vancouver! Excited to spend the day with my wife and son and then have a fun week filming more Malcolm reboot! Also already anxious to get back in my race car in Kansas next weekend!" he said in a subsequent message on social media. Well, that filming before the race has finally come to an end and now the Malcolm in the Middle reboot is in the hands of the post-production team. "Just wrapped filming the Malcolm in the Middle reboot, and man, I'm still reeling. This experience was straight-up incredible—like stepping back into Malcolm's wild world but with all the love and chaos cranked to 11," Muniz announced on social media on May 16. "Reuniting with the cast, getting to know some new characters, laughing till it hurt, and making new memories on set felt like a dream I didn't want to wake up from. It went by so fast, like a blur of perfect moments. I wish it could go on forever." The actor revealed he never truly felt like that label belonged, but now wears "that label proudly and hope to do so much more of it in the future."
