MALCOLM IN THE MIDDLE Reboot Wraps Production After Frankie Muniz "Proudly" Returns to Acting — GeekTyrant
The reboot of the beloved Malcolm in the Middle series has wrapped production, welcoming star of the show Frankie Muniz back to acting. The two-time Golden Globe nominee, who previously put his Hollywood career on hold to pursue NASCAR racing, revealed on Friday that he's wrapped the first season of the Disney+ revival, during which he was reminded 'how much I truly love being an actor.'
Muniz wrote on X, 'Just wrapped filming the Malcolm in the Middle reboot, and man, I'm still reeling. This experience was straight-up incredible—like stepping back into Malcolm's wild world but with all the love and chaos cranked to 11.
'Reuniting with the cast, getting to know some new characters, laughing till it hurt, and making new memories on set felt like a dream I didn't want to wake up from. It went by so fast, like a blur of perfect moments. I wish it could go on forever.'
'I'm so happy to have gotten the chance to relive being on this show with a greater appreciation of what we were making knowing how many people around the world truly love Malcolm and his family. Another big thing I am taking away from this experience is how much I truly love being an actor.
'I never officially felt like that label fit me, but now I wear that label proudly and hope to do so much more of it in the future. I am so sad to have to say goodbye to my MITM crew, I love each and everyone of you.'
'And PS: Life's Still Unfair,' added Muniz, referencing the OG show's theme song 'Boss of Me' by They Might Be Giants. 'I had so many incredible pictures of all the cast I wanted to post but Disney won't let me…. So imagine a picture of all of us together, having the time of our lives!'
Ahead of the show's 25th anniversary, a Disney+ revival was announced for a limited, four-episode run in December, with Muniz returning as Malcolm, alongside Bryan Cranston and Jane Kaczmarek reprising their roles as his parents Hal and Lois.
Original cast members Christopher Masterson and Justin Berfield also returned to reprise their roles as Malcolm's brothers Francis and Reese, respectively, and they are joined by newcomers Caleb Ellsworth-Clark, who is taking over the role of Malcolm's (Muniz) brother, Dewey; Anthony Timpano who has been cast as Malcolm's youngest brother, Jamie, who was seen as a baby and toddler on the original series; and Vaughan Murrae who has been cast as Malcolm's youngest sibling, Kelly, whose existence was revealed in the series finale when the boys' mom, Lois, holds a positive pregnancy test.
Additionally, Keeley Karsten has landed a key role in the revival as Malcolm's daughter, Leah, and Kiana Madeira is playing Malcolm's girlfriend.
From 20th Television and New Regency, the Malcolm In the Middle revival will feature Malcolm (Muniz) and his daughter (Karsten) as they are drawn into the family's chaos when Hal (Cranston) and Lois (Kaczmarek) demand his presence for their 40th wedding anniversary party.
Malcolm In the Middle creator Linwood Boomer returns as writer and executive producer. The four-episode revival is set to premiere later this year.

McCutchen ties Clemente for third on Pirates' all-time homers list with 240
Andrew McCutchen tied Roberto Clemente for third place on the Pittsburgh Pirates' all-time home run list at 240 with a two-run shot off San Diego's Randy Vásquez in the third inning on Sunday. It was the second homer in two games and fifth of the season for the 38-year-old McCutchen, who's in his 17th big league season and 12th with Pittsburgh over two stints. It gave the Pirates a 2-1 lead. Clemente hit 240 homers from 1955-1972. He was 38 when he was killed on Dec. 31, 1972, in the crash of a plane he chartered to deliver emergency supplies for the survivors of an earthquake in Nicaragua. He was posthumously elected to the Hall of Fame in 1973. Willie Stargell tops the Pirates' list with 475 homers and Ralph Kiner is next with 301. Landry primarily works on the sides of the plate, and Tennessee is working with what she's giving it. That sacrifice fly by Vols catcher Sophia Nugent against her former team in the Sooners not only gives her team a 2-0 lead in the first inning, but it continues what's emerging as an early trend in this game: go with where it's pitched. Both Gabby Leach and Pannell drove outside pitches the other way, and facing Nebraska's Jordy Bahl last week was great preparation for seeing Oklahoma's Sam Landry. Imagn Images That was an absolute shot of a line drive by Vols third baseman Taylor Pannell. Sooners center fielder Abigaile Dayton didn't take a great angle on that ball, going straight across instead of a slanted angle, and a passed ball gets the Vols on the board. Karlyn Pickens is a totally different pitcher for Tennessee when she has the lead. T1 - Tennessee 1, Oklahoma 0 A single, a double and a passed ball, and the Vols have the lead. Just what they needed against the powerhouse Sooners. A rematch of the 2013 final ... when these players were in elementary school. Wonder if any of them were softball junkies watching the WCWS that year Tennessee vs. Oklahoma in Game 2. There are good storylines all over the place in this one. I knew Teagan Kavan would come through after what was kind of a shockingly close Super Regional against Clemson. As for the rest of the matchups today: Tennessee vs. Oklahoma: While most of me REALLY wants Tennessee to shut the Sooners down so we can have some parity here (and so the Sooners can face some challenges), I think we're going to have a relatively close one here. In the Super Regionals, Karlyn Pickens dominated in Game 3 against Nebraska, but Game 1 was a little iffy. I think it'll be somewhat similar here, so I think the Sooners will take this first matchup. But I wouldn't be surprised if the Vols come back with a vengeance after it. Honestly, they're my pick to win it all, but I think they'll drop this first one. While most of me REALLY wants Tennessee to shut the Sooners down so we can have some parity here (and so the Sooners can face some challenges), I think we're going to have a relatively close one here. But as good as that game was, I think I'm even more excited for this next one on the slate: Oklahoma vs. Tennessee. I came into this NCAA Tournament thinking that Tennessee is one of the only squads that could potentially stifle Oklahoma's five-peat chances, especially with Karlyn Pickens in the circle for the Vols. I guess we'll see here soon. I am one to love a high-scoring, offensive matchup, but Texas' defensive prowess today kept me locked in. The Longhorns beat the Gators 3-0, earning the day off on Friday and facing the winner of No. 2 Oklahoma vs. No. 7 Tennessee on Saturday. Oklahoma-Tennessee starts at 2:30 p.m. ET. Imagn Images Teagan Kavan and Joley Mitchell were the stars in Game 1 of the Women's College World Series as Texas beats Florida 3-0. Texas will play the winner of Oklahoma-Tennessee on Saturday. Florida will play the loser of that game on Friday. Kavan went the distance in the circle for Texas, allowing just two hits with only two hits. Mitchell had two solo home runs. Machado homers and hits go-ahead sac fly as the Padres beat Pirates 6-4
Manny Machado homered in the first inning and hit a go-ahead sacrifice fly in a four-run seventh for the San Diego Padres, who rallied past the Pittsburgh Pirates 6-4 on Sunday to take two of three games in their series. Andrew McCutchen hit a two-run shot to tie Roberto Clemente for third place on Pittsburgh's career list with 240 homers. Adam Frazier also went deep to give the Pirates a 4-1 lead in the fourth. Gavin Sheets slammed face-first into the wall while tracking Frazier's homer and left the game. The Padres started their comeback in the sixth when Jackson Merrill's second double of the game brought in three-time batting champion Luis Arraez, who was aboard on a one-out double. San Diego broke through against reliever Tanner Rainey (0-1), who came on to start the seventh and walked three of the five batters he faced and allowed an RBI single to pinch-hitter Elías Díaz. After Rainey walked Fernando Tatis Jr. to load the bases with one out, Caleb Ferguson came on and allowed Arraez's single that tied it and Machado's sac fly. Tyler Wade beat out a bases-loaded single that Ferguson knocked down but couldn't find in time to make a play. It was the second homer in two games and fifth of the season for the 38-year-old McCutchen, who's in his 17th big league season and 12th with Pittsburgh over two stints. The shot off Randy Vásquez with one out in the third inning gave the Pirates a 2-1 lead. Machado's homer off starter Andrew Heaney was his seventh. Adrian Morejon (3-2) got the win and Robert Suarez pitched a perfect ninth for his major league-leading 19th save. Arraez's tying single was his first RBI hit of the season with the bases loaded. McCutchen has 324 homers during a 17-year career in which he's also played for Philadelphia, Milwaukee, San Francisco and the New York Yankees.
