1,000 students join Injaz Bahrain's Young Entrepreneurs Competition
More than 1,000 students from local high schools and universities showcased their skills and talent at the 17th annual Young Entrepreneurs Competition hosted by Injaz Bahrain. The event, held at Crowne Plaza Bahrain under the patronage of Sheikha Hessa bint Khalifa Al Khalifa, Chairperson of Injaz Bahrain, marked a significant milestone in fostering entrepreneurial spirit and innovation among Bahraini youth. This year's competition carries added significance as Injaz Bahrain celebrates its 20th anniversary — marking two decades of empowering young minds and nurturing the kingdom's future business leaders. The event featured a diverse array of 20 student companies, with 10 each from high school and university and levels. The students participated in intensive assessments, team-building activities, and inspiration sessions over two days, culminating in a grand Awards Ceremony that recognised outstanding achievements across various categories. This year, the competition also introduced five signature awards to highlight exceptional achievements. These include the Excellence in ESG Award by Bapco Energies, Best Booth and Brand Award by BASREC, Rising CEO Award by bni, Best Financial Performance Award by CrediMax and Excellence in Technology Award by NBB. Distinguished individuals served as judges in both the High School Track and the University Track, including representatives from prominent organisations including Dana Alhaddad from Beyon; Eng Jassim Darwish from GPIC; Nezar Habib from stc Bahrain and Yasser Al Khaja from Investcorp Holdings in the High School Track; Abdulaziz Tawfeeqi from Infracorp; Ali Alaradi from BDB; Amin Sultan from Alba; and Marwa Aleskafi from Tamkeen in the University Track. Injaz Bahrain also hosted signature awards judges: Buthaina Amin from Bapco Energies; Narjis Almoosawi from BASREC; Nada Mohamed from CrediMax; Amgad Abdelaal from NBB and Rayan Al Mahmood, Ammar Al Raees and Abdulla Al Basteki from bni. 'Design Your Future' Campaign Announces Ninth Edition of the Annual Business Quiz Show and Opens Registration for Companies and Banks
The 'Design Your Future' campaign has announced the launch of the ninth edition of its Annual Business Quiz Show, scheduled to take place on 24 August 2025. This announcement coincides with the beginning of the campaign's second edition, launched in strategic partnership with Mastercard, the official knowledge partner for this edition. The Design Your Future initiative is designed to support high school graduates, university students, and vocational training participants in adopting a structured and proactive approach to career planning and development. The Business Quiz Show forms an integral part of the campaign's broader objective to develop and highlight Bahraini talent across key national economic sectors. Participating companies and institutions will engage in quiz-based challenges designed to assess their industry knowledge and analytical skills in areas critical to Bahrain's positioning as a regional business and innovation hub. Registration is currently open for companies and corporates wishing to participate. This year's edition will take place over five evenings, with university students joining company teams to foster collaboration between emerging talents and business professionals. Each evening will focus on a specific sector, where four teams will compete in knowledge-driven rounds covering topics related to Bahrain's economic landscape and sector-specific developments. The sectors featured in this edition include banking, insurance, industry, and general business. Winners from each sector will advance to the final round, which is scheduled for 28 August 2025. Ms. Zahraa Taher, Chairperson of the Advisory Committee of the 'Design Your Future' campaign, stated: 'The Annual Business Quiz Show offers a unique opportunity for university students to engage with leading professionals from Bahrain's foremost companies. Bahrain students win smart investor challenge
TDT | Manama Bahrain Bourse, in collaboration with INJAZ Bahrain, celebrated the conclusion of the 2024-2025 'Smart Investor Program' with an awards ceremony on Sunday that brought together students, educators and dignitaries. The event, held at Bahrain Bourse headquarters, was attended by Her Highness Shaikha Hessa Bint Khalifa Al Khalifa, Chairperson of INJAZ Bahrain, alongside officials from the Ministry of Education and representatives of both organisations. Empowering young learners Now in its seventh year, the Smart Investor Program continues to play a key role in advancing financial literacy among young students in Bahrain. The initiative introduces participants to basic personal finance concepts such as budgeting, saving and financial planning through activity-based learning. Students gain practical knowledge designed to help them make informed financial decisions later in life. This year's programme culminated in the Smart Investor National Competition, where 48 student teams competed in two stages. First, teams created videos illustrating core financial concepts. In the second stage, they designed mobile applications to support personal financial planning. Winners recognised Awards were presented to the top three teams from both government and private school categories. In the government school category, first place went to Aamina Bent Wahab Primary Girls School, second to Hamad Town Primary Girls School, and third to Al Mustaqbal Primary Girls School. Among private schools, Al Hekma International School claimed first place, followed by Modern Knowledge Schools and Al Raja School. The 'Best Video' award went to H.H. Shaikha Moza Bint Hamad Al Khalifa Comprehensive School for government schools and to Canadian School Bahrain for private schools. Commitment to financial literacy Shaikh Khalifa bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa, Chief Executive Officer of Bahrain Bourse, said the programme remained a catalyst for embedding financial knowledge among youth, highlighting the importance of partnerships with INJAZ Bahrain and the Ministry of Education. Her Highness Shaikha Hessa Bint Khalifa Al Khalifa praised the creativity of the students, noting the event coincided with the 20th anniversary of INJAZ Bahrain's mission to equip young people with practical skills and financial understanding. Bahrain Bourse and INJAZ Bahrain also thanked the Ministry of Education and sponsors including Ahli United Bank, Bank ABC, and National Bank of Kuwait for their support.
