From Classroom to Stage : Bahrain's Bold Move to Cultivate Public-Speaking Youth
TDT | Manama
Second Toastmasters Club Launched
• INJAZ expands youth club
• Teens lead public forums
• Bapco backs young speakers
Public speaking was once the domain of boardrooms and halls of power in Bahrain, but now it belongs to the youth. INJAZ Bahrain, in partnership with Bapco Refining, has launched its second Toastmasters Club dedicated to nurturing teenage voices for leadership, debate, and global platforms.
Held at Bapco Club, the inauguration welcomed 20 new student members and top dignitaries, including Her Highness Shaikha Hessa bint Khalifa Al Khalifa, Chairperson of INJAZ Bahrain, and Dr Abdulrahman Jawahery, Acting Managing Director of Bapco Energies and CEO of Bapco Refining.
The initiative marks a growing movement to empower Generation Z with stage presence, clarity, and confidence.
Young Voices Rising
The new club builds on the momentum of the first INJAZ Bahrain Toastmasters Club, launched just two years ago and now one of the largest youth-dedicated Toastmasters chapters in the region. It currently boasts 50 active members.
Last year, seven members reached the finals of the prestigious District Toastmasters Annual Conference (DTAC), competing against top speakers from Kuwait, Iraq, and Egypt. This year, five more represented Bahrain at DTAC, hosted in Manama.
INJAZ Bahrain's Toastmasters programme has quickly become a launchpad for teenagers who want their words to matter — on stages, in schools, and beyond.
Stage-Ready Teens
At the launch, INJAZ honoured its top speakers in the Toastmasters of the Year Awards. Abdelrahman Nasser took first place, followed by Abdulla Madan and Malak Almeel. These awards not only recognised communication skill but the ability to inspire and lead.
Off the stage, the club's youth-led outreach has been just as impactful — from running workshops at Busaiteen Secondary Girls School to mentoring peers in the INJAZ Company Programme, and even serving as emcees at a high-level United Nations event in Tunis. These teens are turning soft skills into hard results.
Backed by Belief
Bahrain's youth are not waiting their turn — they are taking the mic.
As INJAZ celebrates two decades of impact in education, entrepreneurship, and financial literacy, this expansion into communication training signals a clear national shift. In Bahrain, young people are no longer just learning to speak — they are learning to lead.
'As we celebrate 20 years of empowering youth through INJAZ Bahrain, the launch of our second Toastmasters Club stands as a symbol of our enduring belief in the power of young voices to shape the future,'
said HH Shaikha Hessa bint Khalifa Al Khalifa.
'We are not just expanding opportunities; we are building a legacy of confident, articulate, and purpose-driven leaders for Bahrain and beyond.'
Her sentiments were echoed by Dr Abdulrahman Jawahery, who played a key role in launching both clubs:
'This step reflects our shared belief in the importance of investing in the energies of Bahraini youth,' he said.
'We are proud to help build a generation of confident speakers.'
Generation Z Takes Charge
INJAZ Bahrain's Toastmasters Club remains the only one in the Kingdom exclusively focused on Generation Z. With over 50 trophies in 2025 and rising influence across regional clubs in Iraq, Kuwait, and Egypt, its members are proving that Bahrain's next generation is ready to lead — loud and clear.
