Andrew Fillipponi: Steelers could play NFC North team on Monday Night Football, Week 1
Pittsburgh's Week 1 opponent may have been revealed — as Steelers leaks, rumors, and predictions run rampant with the NFL Schedule Release drawing ever closer.
Andrew Fillipponi of 93.7 The Fan — who reported the Steelers' 2025 Ireland opponent, the Minnesota Vikings, and the Week 4 date almost 10 days before the official NFL announcement — just dropped a bombshell prediction for the first Monday Night Football of the season: Week 1, Green Bay vs. Pittsburgh.
According to Fillipponi, the Vikings being selected over the Packers for the Ireland game has caused speculation to run rampant — particularly since Green Bay is one of the NFL franchises affiliated with Ireland. He argued that the Pirates are playing in Pittsburgh on Sunday, which could push the Steelers to be given the Monday Night Football slot instead.
One could argue that this prediction doesn't account for a potential Week 1 matchup against the Jets, who could also offer a fantastic revenge game for both Aaron Rodgers and former Steel City QB Justin Fields — but two of the most historic franchises in the Pittsburgh Steelers and Green Bay Packers would be must-see TV on Monday Night Football.

Taylor Swift & Travis Kelce Will Spend a ‘Different' NFL Season This Time, Claims ‘Source'
Now that Taylor Swift's 'Eras' tour is officially over, she will reportedly attend an NFL season with Travis Kelce without worrying about exhaustive commitments. One of the most discussed couples in the industry, Swift and Kelce are reportedly ready to bring a blend of pop culture and sports to the stadium. According to a source, the upcoming season will pave the way for their romance to be unencumbered by busy schedules. After concluding the 'Eras' tour, Taylor Swift is reportedly gearing up for the next NFL season with Travis Kelce. Since the beginning of the couple's romance in 2023, the upcoming NFL season will be the first one where Swift will not keep busy with the tour commitments. According to PEOPLE's insider, for this reason, Swift is particularly excited for Kelce's upcoming season. The insider suggested the season's uniqueness, saying, 'This fall will be completely different. It's the first season where she's not constantly flying back and forth or working around an entire touring calendar.' Swift was busy with her record-breaking 'Eras' tour till her last stop at Vancouver in December. Meanwhile, her boyfriend was navigating his football career. Hence, the past two seasons tested the couple's endurance and patience. The source noted, 'The past two seasons were a whirlwind between performing across multiple countries, long flights, and trying to squeeze in alone time together wherever possible.' They added, 'It wasn't easy but they made it work.' The source further claimed Swift planned to attend as many of Kelce's games as possible. 'Her schedule is much more open now that the Eras Tour is wrapped, and she's genuinely excited to have the time and flexibility to show up for Travis more consistently,' reported the insider. While rumors about their split and their marriage swirl around, all eyes will be on Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce this NFL season. Steelers' Will Howard thankful for 'great mentor' Aaron Rodgers: 'He's been so good to me'
Aaron Rodgers is doing everything he can to mentor Will Howard — and the Steelers rookie greatly appreciates it. At mandatory minicamp, Howard was asked by reporters how his interactions have been with Rodgers — and this was his response (courtesy of Steelers Live): '[Rodgers] is a great mentor — already treated me with the utmost respect and just been really good to me,' Howard said. 'And a guy like that, he doesn't have to do that. I really just appreciate him being willing to take me under his wing a little bit and give me pointers and tips here and there. There's already some things that he's said to me that have already helped me.' Howard told reporters that Rodgers advised him not to get too wide at the top of his five-step drop, in order to generate more force in his throws — a difference the rookie says he already felt on the field. Rodríguez got a second opinion from Dodgers team physician Dr. Neal ElAttrache in Los Angeles. Advertisement '(The) recommendation was for a PRP injection that he'll get next week and then four weeks of complete rest before he starts to ramp back up,' Pirates manager Don Kelly said before Saturday's game against the Chicago Cubs. 'So unfortunately, it'll be a little while.' The 25-year-old Rodríguez, who also plays first base, was placed on the 10-day injured list on June 7 with elbow inflammation. He was transferred to the 60-day IL on Friday. Rodríguez is batting .173 (9 for 52) in 18 games this season.
