Notre Dame hires former West Virginia assistant as defensive analyst
Notre Dame is looking at the right personnel to hire for the 2025 season. That includes on the defensive side, especially after the departure of coordinator and Broyles Award winner Al Golden. The hope is their latest hire will be up to the stands Golden set.
The Irish reportedly have hired Jevaughn Codlin as a defensive analyst. He most recently worked at West Virginia as an assistant secondary coach. That means he likely will most closely work with Irish defensive backs coaches Mike Mickens and Marty Biagi in addition to new defensive coordinator Chris Ash.
Codlin previously worked as a graduate assistant on the staff at Emporia State. This came off a playing career at Kansas Wesleyan and one year professionally with the Indoor Football League's Spokane Shock.
Those working in college football mainly if not unanimously have a positive impression of Codlin, and he could be a force in the distant future:

'Well, I heard someone say recently that I pulled an Irish goodbye on the W. That made me laugh.' She hinted that after the 2021 Sky championship season, she was getting closer to retirement. Quigley took the 2023-2025 seasons off to prioritize motherhood. She and Vandersloot welcomed a baby girl named Jana Christine on April 8. In the essay, Quigley thanked everyone vital to her and instrumental in her career. She thanked her mother and her hometown of Joliet, Illinois, for being her foundation. Advertisement Furthermore, Quigley thanked Ann Meyers Drysdale, who brought her onto the Phoenix Mercury during her rookie season in 2008. She gave props to her Sky coaches, Pokey Chatman, Amber Stocks, and James Wade. Quigley then concluded by thanking the Sky organization, the fans, the WNBA, and certainly Vandersloot. She played 14 seasons in the WNBA with the Sky, Mercury, Seattle Storm, Indiana Fever, and San Antonio Silver Stars (now the Las Vegas Aces). However, her career blossomed when she was in Chicago. Allie Quigley's impact on the Chicago Sky Quigley joined the Sky in 2013. For ten seasons, she became one of their best shooters and scorers. Last fall against Purdue, the senior injured his right knee, and he was lost for the remainder of the season. While Botelho announced that he had unfinished business in South Bend and prepared for his return, but another bump in the road happened recently. The report says that he has injured his pectoral muscle and will be out for at least four months. It's a big blow for Botelho and the Irish defensive line, as they lost more than a few talented players at the position. However, the cupboard isn't bare, as Notre Dame has multiple players who could breakout this fall including Boubacar Traore, Loghan Thomas, and Bryce Young. Botelho's injury will allow some of the younger players to get valuable reps as the Irish look for the best combination to attack opposing offenses.

There is considerable hype surrounding Moore as he enters year No. 2 in South Bend, and he could be the next Notre Dame corner to leave early and get drafted high into the NFL.
