Sky Sports are reportedly in talks with The One Show host Roman Kemp over a potential presenting role within their football coverage.
The 32-year-old, who is the son of former Spandau Ballet bassist Martin Kemp, first gained recognition as the host of Capital Radio's Breakfast show before leaving the station in March 2024 to concentrate on his presenting duties with the BBC. He was recently linked with a potential role on Match of the Day after Gary Lineker announced he would be stepping down from presenting the show.

However, despite Kemp being linked with the programme, Mark Chapman, Kelly Cates and Gabby Logan were ultimately chosen to share the responsibility of replacing Lineker.

Following this snub, the Daily Mail reports that Sky Sports have initiated talks with Kemp regarding a potential role as part of their coverage.
Kemp is being lined up for a major new role
The specifics of the position are yet to be finalised, but one possibility is for Kemp to host a show that would be broadcast simultaneously on Sky Sports News, Sky Sports Main Event and Premier League channels.

Sky is undergoing significant organisational changes, with seven of its sports staff, including presenters Rob Wotton, Teddy Draper and Jasper Taylor, losing their positions.
In November, The Sun reported that Kemp was being lined up for a 'digital role' within the Match of the Day team.
Following a new deal with the Premier League, the BBC has gained the right to broadcast match highlights earlier than the usual 10.30pm slot on Saturdays, with this move expected to enhance the BBC's online output.

Arsenal fan Kemp has previously taken on some duties with the broadcaster by conducting interviews for Football Focus, including one with Gunners star Mikel Merino in December.
When he announced Chapman, Cates and Logan as Lineker's replacement, BBC Sport director Alex Kay-Jelski confirmed there were "new shows, voices and surprises" being lined up for the 2025/26 season.
"I know viewers will love these three incredible broadcasters and journalists at the heart of our football coverage next season," he said.

"They're brilliant at what they do and MOTD viewers can be sure they will be well looked after as the big football talking points are expertly analysed.
"Gary has done a phenomenal job at Match of the Day for the last 25 years, he'll be missed greatly," Kay-Jelski added.
"Outside of Match of the Day we've got some great new shows, voices and surprises lined up for the 2025-26 season across audio, video and digital and we look forward to sharing them with you all later in the year.

Revealed: The top 12 TV shows that cause the most rows in Brits' homes

It is a row that is regularly played out in homes across the country – who gets control of the television remote. And it has emerged that the programmes most likely to cause a squabble are Match of the Day and Love Island. In a poll of 2,000 Britons, 17 per cent confessed to arguing over the football highlights show. Love Island was second on 13 per cent. Researchers found that 55 per cent regularly row over which TV show to watch. A total of 48 per cent said they often 'gave in' to their partner, but then went and watched their programme on their phone instead. Gina Allen, 33, of Watford, said: 'When Saturday comes round, I know that he [my boyfriend] will want to watch Match of the Day. 'I enjoy it too, but only if Spurs have won that day, which isn't often the case, so I prefer watching something on Netflix or Disney at that time of night.' She added: 'Now I have my own Saturday night shows that I watch without my boyfriend while he shouts and screams at the telly in the other room.' Saturday is the day when arguments are most likely to kick off, and 25 per cent of those polled confessed to hiding the remote control or taking the batteries out. One in ten also admitted telling their children that the TV 'stops working' at 5pm. A spokesman for Toshiba, which commissioned the survey, said: 'It's no wonder that 58 per cent of respondents say they own a second screen to reduce TV-related arguments.' Lawyer Henry Nelson-Case said: 'In the court of living-room justice, the battle for the remote is the ultimate trial by fire. 'I've seen less drama in actual courtrooms than when someone tries to switch off Match of the Day mid-match.'

EastEnders' Shane Ritchie's bid for David Jason to join soap

Appearing on The One Show, Ritchie, 61, who plays Alfie Moon in the BBC soap, spoke about EastEnders' award-winning streak at the British Soap Awards last week. The cast were presented the award for Best Soap by none other than Only Fools and Horses legend Sir David Jason – and it would appear that Ritchie would love to get him to become a Walford resident. Speaking on The One Show last night (June 11), Ritchie told hosts Alex Jones and Angellica Bell that he is 'trying' to get David Jason involved. "Well, we got presented the award by David Jason, and now this is between us," Richie joked with fellow guest, Marvel star Jeremy Renner, and the hosts. "Davis Jason, big famous actor, say nothing, I'm trying to get him into EastEnders," Richie continued. He jokingly turned to the camera and said: "Turn over, watch something else, you don't want to see this," before adding: "I'm trying to get him into it." When Bell asked him whether he had spoken to Jason about it, Richie said: "I don't know yet! I might take him out for a beer." Fans 'can't cope' with David Jason at the British Soap Awards It appears that Shane Ritchie would not be the only one who would love to see Sir David on the Square. Fans were delighted that the 85-year-old presented the soap award to the EastEnders cast, taking to social media to sing his praises. 'Witnessing the David Jason presenting the award for best soap and then EastEnders winning might be one of the most surreal things I have ever experienced,' one person said on X. 'Sir David Jason announcing EastEnders for Best Soap?! My worlds have collided, and I can't cope,' another added. Others tweeted: 'Dreaming that David Jason has joined #EastEnders' and 'David Jason would be brilliant in #EastEnders!" What has David Jason said about EastEnders? During The Only Fools and Horses Story – a TV special that aired in 2021 to mark the 40th anniversary of the sitcom – Sir David suggested how EastEnders' Queen Vic could have been a "meeting place" to set the scene for more humour, like The Nag's Head. Recommended reading: David said: "What John [Sullivan] tried to tune into was a huge mixture of like real people are. "They laugh, they cry. They take the mick out of each other. They go on trips together down the pub. "One of the great things I think John (Sullivan) did, which I'm very pleased to say and I'd wished they perhaps taken note at EastEnders, is that the pub was the central meeting place and it's full of very, very amusing characters." EastEnders airs on Mondays to Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One.

Erling Haaland's emotional message speaks volumes after Jack Grealish decision

Jack Grealish has been brutally axed from Manchester City's squad for the upcoming Club World Cup and star striker Erling Haaland had an amusing take on the England man's absence Erling Haaland had a typically amusing response to Jack Grealish 's brutal Manchester City snub. The England winger has been axed from the squad by Pep Guardiola for the upcoming Club World Cup in the USA. While Grealish has yet to respond directly to his snub, City's star forward Haaland has had his say. Taking to Snapchat, the Norwegian shared a picture of a vacant seat next to him on the club's flight to the US. ‌ And he wrote a particularly telling caption. "Jack Grealish where are you," Haaland asked alongside a crying cat face emoji. ‌ Haaland and Grealish appear to have struck up a close friendship during the striker's two-year spell at the Etihad Stadium. During their title celebrations in 2022, the former gatecrashed the winger's interview with Sky Sports to tell him: ''I f***ing love you, you know that!' Meanwhile, Grealish has hit back at fan criticism over his performances across what has been a tricky campaign. Responding to comments from former Aston Villa star Gabby Agbonlahor on Instagram, he said: 'What u want me to do, score a hatty in 20?' He then replied to a fan saying: "Haha I've been bad lately? Scored three goals in my last three appearances over 45 mins but okie dokie love x." Grealish, signed for £100m in 2021, scored just three goals for City last season, only one of which came in the Premier League. He started just seven league games, while playing a combined 144 league minutes in 2025. Speaking at the end of the season, City boss Pep Guardiola insisted he did not have a personal issue with the 29-year-old. He said: "Of course, Jack has to play. That's the truth. Jack is an unbelievable player that has to play football every three days. And it didn't happen this season, and last season neither. And he needs to do it with us, or another place. "But that is a question for Jack, his agent, and the club. If he stays, we'll be fine, and he'll fight like he fought since day one to make a contribution." ‌ He added: "Who said I'm not happy with him? I said in my words I'm not happy with him? The last games he didn't play. He was on the bench, and Rico [Lewis] - for me, one of the favourite players I have - he was not selected either. ‌ "It's not anything personal about Jack, absolutely anything. I'm the person who fought [for him] to come here, and fought [for him] to stay here this season and the previous season. The one that said I want Jack with me. "What happens in the future? Listen, it's a job for Hugo [Viana], for Txiki [Bergiristain]. It's not for me." Grealish has already been linked with a move away from City this summer with Everton reportedly interested in a loan.
