'Stylish' earplugs that work 'perfectly' at concerts are a must-have for TRNSMT

Daily Record03-07-2025
'These earplugs work perfectly for concerts and parties. They reduce the volume just enough to protect my hearing without affecting the music.'
With many people planning to attend festivals and concerts over the coming months, it is important to make sure you are protecting your hearing. While at the time the noise level from the speakers and those around you may seem okay, the irritating ringing noise you are left with later on can be a cause for concern.
One way to solve this problem that won't put a dampener on your night is to buy a set of ear plugs. Specifically designed with concerts and festivals in mind, these earplugs will still allow users to hear the music at TRNSMT and chat with their pals while simultaneously reducing the noise level.
One popular pair of concert ear plugs on Amazon are the Alpine Tune Earplugs. Normally retailing for £33.25, shoppers can now buy them for £29.95 in a variety of colours.
Available in black, dark blue, neon pink, rose gold, silver and yellow, these Alpine Ear Plugs promise to provide crystal-clear audio at safe volumes (19dB SNR). Using hi-fidelity filters, these ear plugs will let wearers enjoy their favourite music in full, rich sound without risking or compromising their hearing.
Delivered with soft oval ear tips in four sizes, these ergonomic ear plugs are comfortable enough to be worn all day. Providing a pressure-free and secure fit, the ear plugs also come with a handy pocket-sized case that can be clipped to a key chain for easy access.
For those worried they won't be able to hear their pals while enjoying the concert or festival, these ear plugs come with advanced filters that will result in less shouting and clearer speech. Essentially, wearers will be able to talk naturally without having to take the ear plugs out.

Another set of popular ear plugs on Amazon are the SENNER MusicPro Ear Plugs. Retailing for £19.99, these ear plugs are designed with triple slats that will adapt to the shape of your ear for comfortable and secure fit. Additionally, the plugs are made with a transparent material which allows inconspicuous use.
Alternatively, shoppers can buy the Experience 2 Ear Plugs from the Loop website. Priced at £29.95 and available in four colours, these earplugs are able to filter noise by 17dB so the music stays clear but at a safer volume.
Back to the Alpine Earplugs, Amazon shoppers have awarded them a 4.6 star rating. Many shoppers have praised the plugs for their stylish look and comfortable fit, as well as how well they reduced noise at concerts.
One happy shopper said: "A great design, really comfortable and they fit perfectly. For the price point, the level of noise reduction and how easy they are to switch to the right size is great."
With another adding: "These earplugs are stylish and are really useful for softening loud music/sounds. I appreciate the fact that they provide you with four different earplug sizes so you can find the one that fits you best and provides the best quality. I think they look really sleek too, and the V shape ensures they stay snug in your ears."
However, the shopper did also grumble:"The only and main critique I have is the feel of the case. In all honesty it feels really cheap, and while I am sure they did this to cut costs it just feels tacky. However, the earplugs themselves feel great."
Another shopper also gave a mixed review: "Comfort OK. Design a bit of a fiddle having specific left and right handed earplugs. Personally prefer Loop Experience for their design and ease of use."
Despite this, a five-star reviewer wrote: "I recently bought and used these earplugs at a concert. The sound quality was good, I could hear the music clearly at a comfortable level without any distortion. I could hear friends without them needing to scream over the music or directly into my ear.
"The size initially attached was too small, but one of the other options included fit perfect and was comfortable to wear all night."
With a fifth shopper commenting: "These earplugs work perfectly for concerts and parties. They reduce the volume just enough to protect my hearing without affecting the music. The sound stays clear and enjoyable. They also comfortable to wear for around 1-2 hours."

Molly-Mae Hague's sister finally ends Tommy Fury feud after doubts over romance

Molly-Mae Hague's sister Zoe has been spending time with Tommy Fury and her niece Bambi - suggesting the family are all getting along nicely after awkward past exchanges Molly-Mae Hague's sister has had a change of heart over Tommy Fury. Zoe is now supporting the Love Island star's reignited romance with boxer Tommy - after previously sharing her fears the relationship was unsalvageable. Reality show fans will recall watching Molly-Mae and Tommy, both 26, fall for each other on ITV back in 2019. ‌ They then enjoyed one of the strongest romances in Love Island history - moving in together soon after leaving the villa, welcoming a baby daughter named Bambi in January 2023, and getting engaged six months later. ‌ But fans were shocked in August last year - when Molly-Mae revealed the unthinkable - that her romance with Tommy had come to a crashing end after months of speculation about the state of their relationship. By the beginning of this year, however, the couple appeared close together. It comes after Andy Carroll 'splits from Lou Teasdale due to her demands' weeks after public row. ‌ READ MORE: Gemma Collins' plans for 'mystical' wedding on hold again as she makes blunt admission And in May they confirmed they were giving their romance another try. Molly-Mae's sister Zoe, however, had expressed her fears that the relationship was doomed - with her damning opinion being aired in the reality couple's Amazon reality show, Behind It All, in May. Now, three months on, it seems Zoe, Molly-Mae, and Tommy are all getting along swimmingly. Taking to social media over the weekend, the trio shared footage and photos of themselves working out in a gym together - alongside toddler Bambi. Zoe and Bambi could be seen performing burpee exercises together, while further content showed the toddler watching her dad, Tommy, running on a treadmill in the same gym. Molly-Mae shared content alongside an amusing caption, writing: "I think she may feel the same about the gym as I do," drawing attention to Bambi's unimpressed expression while watching her dad exercise. The happy family scenes come just a few short months after the Love Island stars confirmed they were back together. A source previously said of the reunion: 'It sounds extreme, but Molly feels much more reassured when Tommy checks in. It all helps with trust, honesty and transparency between the two of them. ‌ "Tommy has been very dedicated so far — if he's on a train, he will FaceTime the moment he gets off. It's the same with any flights that he takes or hotels he's staying in. 'Tommy dutifully phones Molly the minute that he arrives anywhere. And then she likes him to also show her where he is. This has been going on for months now, and Tommy's friends are impressed that he has agreed to it whole-heartedly.' ‌ The strict rules were laid down after Tommy had opened up about his relationship with alcohol. He said last year: 'The reason why me and Molly broke up was because I got addicted to alcohol and I couldn't be the partner that I wanted to be any more. 'It kills me to say it, but it's true, I couldn't. I loved a pint of beer, loved to drink, and it is what it is.' Following the confessions, Zoe had shared her concerns over her sister getting back together with the boxer. She said in scenes that aired in the Amazon reality show: "I would always, always, always, 100% be there for her,' Zoe insists in a tense on-camera exchange. ‌ 'But, yeah, I do worry for her, and my relationship with her if they would get back together. Definitely. I just want us to get on. I actually don't hate you in the slightest. Like, I feel like you actually hate me." Molly-Mae then hit back: 'No, I don't hate you. But I feel that anger from you towards me, from like, years and years of us sometimes having arguments.' But Zoe refused to back down, warning: 'I think she potentially needs to look into the future and think what's best for her and Bambi. She's got a long, rocky road ahead, unfortunately.' ‌ Molly-Mae has even had to hit back at her own fans - who have accused Tommy of not doing enough for his daughter and suggesting Zoe has been more present for her. In an emotional video post, Molly-Mae told her followers: "I've seen so many comments saying 'Zoe is more the dad' I only vlog when I am not with Tommy, I am with Tommy literally 80 per cent of the week and he is with Bambi the majority of the week. "But I vlog when we are here and he is at his because it's just something that I am not ready to like open up with yet and like flinging the camera around like when we're a family. I just think like we're not there yet and still figuring out life and living situations. I'm not ready to vlog like we used to."

Pierce Brosnan U-turns on a female Bond: ‘It has to be a man'

Pierce Brosnan has U-turned after previously saying James Bond should be played by a woman. The 72-year-old Irish actor has now said 007 'has to be a man', going back on comments he made previously. Brosnan, who played Bond in four movies between 1995 and 2002, wished Amazon well in its takeover of the franchise and said he is 'excited' to see the 'next man' take on the iconic role. The GoldenEye star discussed the next portrayal of 007 and told Saga magazine: 'Oh, I think it has to be a man.' This goes against remarks he made in 2019 when he told The Hollywood Reporter that a woman playing the next Bond would be both 'exciting' and 'exhilarating'. The MobLand star, who was the fifth actor to take on the role of the fictional secret agent, had said that it was time to 'put a woman up there'. But now, speaking of Amazon's takeover of the franchise, he said: 'I wish them well. 'I'm so excited to see the next man come on the stage and to see a whole new exuberance and life for this character. 'I adore the world of James Bond. It's been very good to me. It's the gift that keeps giving. 'And I'm just a member of the audience now, sitting back, saying: 'Show us what you're going to do'.' Dame Helen Mirren, 80, who is set to star alongside Brosnan in the new Thursday Murder Club film, also reiterated her previous opinion that the next Bond should be 'a guy'. The Oscar-winning actress told Saga: ' I'm such a feminist, but James Bond has to be a guy. You can't have a woman. It just doesn't work. 'James Bond has to be James Bond, otherwise it becomes something else.' Aaron Taylor-Johnson, an English actor known for Kick-Ass, is among the favourites to succeed Daniel Craig and take on the iconic role. Other British stars like Idris Elba, Theo James and James Norton are also said to be contenders. Earlier this year, long-serving producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson – the daughter and stepson of original Bond producer Albert 'Cubby' Broccoli – announced they had ceded creative control of the franchise over to Amazon MGM Studios. The family had controlled the franchise since the first 007 film, Dr No in 1962. The £770 million deal sparked concern among fans who feared the UK franchise might lose its British identity and would lead to the 'Americanisation' of the films. There was also online speculation that Jeff Bezos' company would 'dilute' Bond and turn it into a media universe with multiple films and spin-off series like MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe). In June, it was announced that Oscar-nominated film-maker Denis Villeneuve – known for Dune – will direct the next Bond film, which will be produced by Amy Pascal and David Heyman. It was also announced earlier this year that Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight will write the script. Amazon has not given any hints on who will take over the 007 role after Daniel Craig announced he would be stepping down.

Just one spritz of our favourite bottle is enough to change our mood for the entire day. While there is no shortage of choice on the market these days, there's something about coming back to an old favourite that has some of us consistently returning no matter how old it gets. For some shoppers, it's the Paloma Picasso Eau de Parfum that has been a staple since the '80s, and we know where this beloved, yet often little known, fragrance can be bought for over half-price. Debenhams is currently running its massive end of summer sale where a 50ml has been reduced from £54 to just £25, offering a 54 percent saving. Meanwhile, a larger 100ml can be bought for £40, down from £82, saving 51 percent overall. First launched in 1984 by renowned jewellery designer Paloma Picasso, daughter of artist Pablo Picasso, this chypre fragrance combines the elements of artistic self-expression defined by her father with her own sophisticated flair. Also offering aromas of jasmine, hyacinth and patchouli, alongside base notes of sandalwood, oak moss and musk, there's a reason it has been branded as a "signature" scent for many. Classic perfumes are often still in high demand, with another standing the test of time being Estee Lauder's Youth Dew, first launched during the 50s, that costs £19.45 for a 76ml on Amazon, down from £45. Another rare perfume that often gets rave reviews is Elizabeth Arden's White Linen Eau de Parfum that is available to buy from Marks and Spencer for £75 for a 60ml bottle. Meanwhile, Paloma Picasso's perfume remains a firm staple for many perfume fanatics, as it has earned a 4.5 rating from Debenhams shoppers who love its "rich scent" and have branded it a "signature" scent. Brilliant value Will buy again. It's a real rich scent, lasts on clothes." The longevity has been met with some criticism, as one disappointed shopper said: "I've been using Paloma Picasso perfume for over 30 years. "This last one I purchased smells the same, but doesn't last like it used to. The manufacturer has weakened the strength of it in my opinion." Although, another pleased customer added: "Perfume from heaven when bought a good few years ago. I wanted to experience my 20/30s again and it didn't disappoint me. Love it still."
