Wynonna Judd Says Spending Time with Her Granddaughter Taught Her 'There Is Life After Death' Following Loss of Mom Naomi
Wynonna Judd is sharing that she's discovered there's "life after death" by spending time with her granddaughter Kaliyah
The country singer's mother Naomi Judd died by suicide in 2022
Judd became a grandmother in 2022 and has been raising her daughter Grace Kelley's daughter KaliyahWynonna Judd is finding happiness by spending time with her granddaughter.
The country singer, 60, recently appeared on Circle Country and spoke about losing her mom, Naomi Judd, to suicide at the age of 76 on April 30, 2022. During the episode, the musician also shared that bonding with her granddaughter Kaliyah has been a light in the darkness for her.
"What do you do with that kind of crap that happens to you? You feel so helpless, and there's a mystery there as to why. So I had to go through that, like you did, right?" Judd said to host Clint Black, whose father also died by suicide.
"You kind of had more of a why than I do, because everybody thought she was okay. Everybody thought everything's okay, and it's not okay. You don't know what's going on," she continued. "I was on tour and distracted."

Judd went on to say that they didn't know how much her mother was struggling because she was a "light to everyone else." But on the inside, she was "crumbling."
"And it's just a weird time. This past year, I've learned so much about myself, and now that I'm with my grandbaby 24/7, I'm learning that there is life after death," said Judd of her granddaughter Kaliyah. "And if I can go out on this tour, this is heavy, and I can go out on stage and I can help someone decide to stay instead of leaving, then I've done my job."
"And I just know that what we're going through after our parents' death is, I'm now an orphan. I have to decide whether the cup is half full or half empty," she added.
Judd became a grandmother after her daughter Grace Kelley welcomed Kaliyah in March 2022.
In January, Judd co-hosted Today with Jenna & Friends and opened up about what life looks like for her as she's been raising her granddaughter. The musician has been caring for her granddaughter after her daughter was arrested multiple times.
"I don't have a computer. I don't watch television unless it's planned 'cause I'm raising my 2½-year-old granddaughter, I listen to her," Judd shared on the show at the time. "So I don't really, I do a lot of Instagram."
Jenna Bush Hager then asked if Judd watches any kids' TV shows, such as Bluey, with her granddaughter. Judd said that while Kaliyah isn't interested in the animated show, she does like Ms. Rachel, and Judd joked, "I'm about to lose my mind."
"Listen, I have three kids switch to — now I like Ms. Rachel, nothing wrong with Ms. Rachel," Bush Hager responded.
"I do too. I just can't talk like that. I wish I could be that animated, but I just don't know how," Judd joked, with the two women later agreeing that they like Peppa Pig.

Employee slammed for not seeing anything wrong with her ‘inappropriate' work outfit: ‘Confused how this outfit left the house in the first place'
One woman's co-worker complained about her office attire, so she turned to TikTok to ask if she was in the wrong. With many companies shelling out return-to-office mandates — many Gen Z and millennial employees — are confused about what is considered appropriate workplace attire these days. Working at an affordable housing non-profit in California, on a regular workday, Alejandra Carreño opted for a black long-sleeved top, heeled shoes and jean shorts. These weren't Daisy Duke shorts by any means. But supposedly, people were still up in arms over them. In a TikTok video — viewed by over 11 million people — Carreño showed off the infamous outfit and wrote,''Are my shorts inappropriate for work? Asking because someone complained about them.' In an interview with People, the employee gave more context, explaining that some of her co-workers commented on her outfit the day she wore it — but it didn't seem like anything she should be concerned about until her denim cutoffs were brought up in a meeting that same day. 'Oh, before I forget, I do have to tell you that someone mentioned a complaint about your shorts. Short shorts aren't allowed,' Carreño recalled her manager saying to her in the interview. 'To me, they seemed fine. I didn't see anything wrong with them. I think you look nice, but unfortunately, I do need to let you know we can't wear short shorts or short skirts,' her manager continued. Talk about confusing rules. Although the woman didn't see this rule anywhere in the company's handbook — according to the many comments on Carreño's video, there still seems to be an unspoken rule that shorts of any kind should not be worn in the workplace. 'As an HR Manager.. if you're in corporate America i cannot think of an instance where shorts are appropriate,' one comment read. 'Shorts should never be in an office,' someone else chimed in. 'Unfortunately, it has nothing to do with being revealing. as an HR professional, denim shorts are never going to be appropriate in an office/corporate environment,' agreed another commenter. 'Just because something isn't revealing doesn't necessarily make it appropriate for work,' another great point made by someone else. 'I'm confused how this outfit left the house in the first place,' quipped another commenter.

Kristin Cavallari says ‘a weight has been lifted' after ‘cutting ties' with her father
Kristin Cavallari has opened up about her decision to no longer speak to her father. The former reality television star revealed in an interview with People published on Monday that choosing not to speak to her father, Dennis Cavallari, years ago turned out to be the 'best decision.' 'I mean, honestly, and this might sound messed up to some people, but it's the best decision I've ever made, cutting my dad out of my life. Such a weight has been lifted from me,' she told the publication. 'There's not one day where I miss him. I don't know if it was two or three years ago, but I mean, I was an adult, let's say I was 35 [when I decided]. It was 35 years of buildup to that point.' The Hills alum — who shares sons Camden, 12, Jaxon, 11, and daughter Saylor, 9, with her ex-husband, former NFL quarterback Jay Cutler — said the rift between her and her father began when he 'crossed the boundary' with her children. Although she didn't provide any further information regarding what her father did to her children, she added that he 'couldn't even apologize' after. 'Like, you're just gaslighting me. I don't have time for that anymore,' she said, noting that she was 'happy' with her choice. 'If someone's not bringing you joy, if people are only bringing you hurt and sadness and anger, what is the point? Even if it's a parent, life's too short.' Cavallari has previously discussed growing up with a narcissistic father during an episode of her Let's Be Honest podcast in December 2023. At the time, she spoke with psychologist Dr. Sherrie Campbell about narcissism. Throughout their discussion, Cavallari admitted that because her father has had narcissistic tendencies, she has cut him out of her life and they are no longer on speaking terms. 'I cut my dad out of my life about two years ago, which has honestly been the best thing I've ever done,' she said. 'I actually didn't realize that my dad was a narcissist until I was an adult.' In the past, the Laguna Beach star has been candid about the strained relationship she shares with her father. She explained to Campbell that when she was younger, she didn't like being around him because he didn't make her feel like she was good enough. She continued: 'But then the flip of that is, sometimes he would put me on this pedestal and talk me up. Now as an adult looking back, it was when it benefited you and made you look good.'
