
Dubai Police arrest motorcyclist performing stunts without number plate
The move comes as part of ongoing efforts to enhance road safety and curb reckless behaviour on the roads.
Brigadier Juma Salem bin Suwaidan, Director of the General Department of Traffic at Dubai Police, said traffic patrols spotted the rider on Sunday evening performing stunts on one wheel along the Quranic Park walkway.
The rider was stopped, his motorcycle impounded, and he was referred to the relevant police station for legal investigation.
Brigadier bin Suwaidan warned against riding motorcycles or driving vehicles without a licence, or engaging in reckless behaviour. He stressed that the law imposes strict penalties on those who endanger their own lives, the lives of others, or public and private property. Offenders face impoundment, arrest, and referral to the judiciary.
He also urged community members to cooperate with Dubai Police and report unsafe driving through the 'Police Eye' service on the Dubai Police Smart App or via the 'We Are All Police' hotline at 901.

Dubai: Expat awarded Dh1-million compensation after car crash causes spinal injury
An Indian woman who was severely injured in a car crash was awarded a compensation of Dh1 million. The accident, which took place near the Bangladesh Consulate in Dubai's Al Wahida area, left the woman with a spinal fracture and partial paralysis in her right arm and leg among other injures. In the incident that occurred in April 2023, Rehmathbi Mamad Sali was crossing the road at a location where pedestrians are not permitted when she was hit by a Nissan Patrol car driven by a UAE national. Subsequent appeals filed by the defendants in the appeals court and the Supreme Court were dismissed, ensuring that the judgment in Rahmathbi's favour was upheld.
