Dubai Police arrest motorcyclist performing stunts without number plate
A young man riding a motorcycle without number plate in a dangerous manner in Al Khawaneej was arrested on Sunday, August 17, putting his life and the lives of others at risk, Dubai Police said.
The move comes as part of ongoing efforts to enhance road safety and curb reckless behaviour on the roads.
Brigadier Juma Salem bin Suwaidan, Director of the General Department of Traffic at Dubai Police, said traffic patrols spotted the rider on Sunday evening performing stunts on one wheel along the Quranic Park walkway.
The rider was stopped, his motorcycle impounded, and he was referred to the relevant police station for legal investigation.
Brigadier bin Suwaidan warned against riding motorcycles or driving vehicles without a licence, or engaging in reckless behaviour. He stressed that the law imposes strict penalties on those who endanger their own lives, the lives of others, or public and private property. Offenders face impoundment, arrest, and referral to the judiciary.
He also urged community members to cooperate with Dubai Police and report unsafe driving through the 'Police Eye' service on the Dubai Police Smart App or via the 'We Are All Police' hotline at 901.
