Over S$128,000 worth of drugs seized in raids; children present during two arrests
The children of two of the men were present during the anti-drug operations, read the news release.

A 42-year-old Singaporean was arrested on Thursday morning in his residential unit near Tampines Street 86 for alleged drug offences, said CNB.
His 10-year-old daughter was in the living room, where multiple drug paraphernalia items were found under the coffee table.
On Thursday afternoon, CNB officers raided another residential unit near Bukit Batok West Avenue 9, where a 36-year-old Singaporean was arrested for suspected drug trafficking.
His wife and four children, aged between one and eight years old, were in the unit and about 892g of Ice and 100 Erimin-5 tablets were seized.
At around the same time, a 41-year-old Singaporean was also arrested in a residential unit near Jalan Kayu for suspected drug trafficking. About 158g of Ice and 9g of Ecstasy were discovered in the unit.
Investigations into the drug activities of the arrested suspects are ongoing, said CNB.
Deputy Assistant Commissioner Chang Gim Fook said CNB takes seriously any situation where individuals, especially children, are exposed to drugs and are subjected to unsafe environments.
'CNB will not hesitate to act swiftly to neutralise illegal drug activities and keep our community safe.'
Under the Misuse of Drugs Act, it is illegal for anyone to traffic in a controlled drug, offer to traffic in a controlled drug, or to do or offer to do any act preparatory to or for the purpose of trafficking in a controlled drug.
This applies to anyone acting on their own behalf or on behalf of another person - whether or not the recipient is in Singapore.
Anyone found guilty of trafficking more than 250g of methamphetamine may face the death penalty.

Three people to be charged over suspected involvement in scams

SINGAPORE - Three people are slated to be charged on Aug 18 over their suspected involvement in two separate cases of scams. Two of them, Malaysian men aged 39 and 45, allegedly scammed their victims by pretending to be the police or from the Monetary Authority of Singapore, said the police in a statement on Aug 17. The scammers told their victims that they had been implicated in crimes such as carrying out unauthorised bank transactions or money laundering, and were required to surrender their money for investigations, said the police. The victims then transferred money to the scammers' accounts and gave them money and valuables such as gold bars and luxury watches in person. The two men, allegedly from the same scam syndicate, were arrested separately at Woodlands Checkpoint and in the vicinity of People's Park Complex on Aug 16. Both men had been instructed by the syndicate to come to Singapore to collect money from victims, preliminary investigations showed. They are believed to be involved in other similar cases and were facilitating the scam syndicate to retain benefits from criminal conduct, said the police. Shooting at New York City club kills three, injures eight others

Gunfire erupted just after 3.30am local time (3.30pm Singapore time) at Taste of the City, a lounge on Franklin Avenue in Crown Heights, Commissioner Jessica Tisch said at a briefing. Officers arrived within minutes and found multiple victims inside. Three men were pronounced dead – one at the scene and two at Kings County Hospital. The eight surviving victims, ranging in age from their 20s to 60s, were taken to hospitals with gunshot wounds to the chest, head and limbs. Several were in critical condition. Detectives recovered at least 36 shell casings, pointing to multiple shooters. A firearm was also recovered nearby, though it was not immediately clear if it was linked to the attack. No arrests have been made. 'There is no perpetrator description at this time,' Commissioner Tisch said. 'Eleven people were shot, three are deceased. It's a terrible shooting.
