John Goodman injured on Tom Cruise movie set

Fox News10-03-2025

John Goodman is on the mend after suffering from an injury on a movie set.
"John Goodman experienced a hip injury," a Warner Bros. Pictures spokesperson told Variety. "He received immediate medical attention that led to a brief delay in shooting to allow him time to recover."
"The production resumes shooting next week following John's full recovery."
The 72-year-old actor was injured while he worked on director Alejandro González Iñárritu's latest film. Reps for Goodman and Warner Bros. Pictures did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital's request for comment. The incident occurred at Pinewood Studios in England. Iñárritu's film is currently untitled but has a release date of Oct. 2, 2026.
Goodman stars alongside Tom Cruise, who is additionally listed as a producer on the film, according to IMDb.
"The most powerful man in the world causes a disaster and embarks on a mission to prove that he is the savior of humanity," the plot synopsis reads.
Iñárritu is known for films like 2006's "Babel," 2014's "Birdman," 2022's "Bardo" and more.
Meanwhile, the "Roseanne" alum has more recently been in the spotlight for his dramatically slimmed-down figure.
Goodman previously revealed that he had lost more than 200 pounds since he first embarked on his health journey in 2007.
In a 2023 interview with Rolling Stone, Goodman opened up about how the COVID-19 pandemic affected his workout routine.
"That was just getting out and walking the dogs," he told the outlet. "I was boxing up until then, and I haven't been able to do that since COVID because I'm lazy."
"I haven't been exercising, but I'm going to start a routine again this summer where I can get some stuff done," he continued. "I've just let everything go just because I haven't had the energy because of the jobs."
Goodman used to hover at more than 400 pounds until he completely switched his lifestyle. Despite the extreme weight loss, Goodman admitted it was not easy to keep off the pounds and at times returned to his unhealthy routines.
"In the old days, I would take three months out, lose 60 or 70 pounds, and then reward myself with a six-pack or whatever and just go back to my old habits," he explained in 2017, according to ABC.
"This time, I wanted to do it slowly. Move, exercise. I'm getting to the age where I can't afford to sit still anymore."

‘How to Train Your Dragon' Star Nico Parker Says ‘I Just Don't Care' That People Are Upset Over Her Casting: ‘I Can't Value Your Opinion on My Hair'

Nico Parker is paying no mind to those who are upset about her casting in the live-action 'How to Train Your Dragon.' In a recent interview with The Times of London, Parker addressed the online backlash surrounding her casting as the young dragon butt kicker Astrid. Some were upset that Parker doesn't have blonde hair and blue eyes like the character in the original animated 'How to Train Your Dragon.' However, the 20-year-old British actress explained that she does not let those comments get to her head. 'But for the people that just hate inclusivity, hate change — when it comes to that side of things, I just don't care.' She continued, 'If I wouldn't value your opinion on most things in life, I can't value your opinion on my hair. If I did, I would go mad.' Parker comes from a family of filmmakers. Her father is director Ol Parker and her mother is actress Thandiwe Newton. She added that when she was younger, the representation in Hollywood of 'mixed race or Black icons' was 'really minimal,' but thinks it's 'really special' to see how far the industry has come. 'There's still a long way to go — for women in general, in terms of new parts, original material and female-led stories,' Parker added. 'But I think that everything's changing. I'd like to think that I could contribute to that change at some point.' The original 'How to Train Your Dragon,' loosely adapted from the 2003 children's book by Cressida Cowell, was released in 2010 and went on to gross a massive $495 million worldwide. Leading cast members included Jay Baruchel, Gerard Butler and America Ferrera. In his review for the new live-action 'How to Train Your Dragon,' which hits theaters June 13, Variety film critic Peter Debruge praised Parker's performance, writing, 'The swaggering Astrid was always the film's most self-reliant character, and in Parker's hands, the romance between her and Hiccup takes on Clark Kent-Lois Lane vibes, especially when the two hit the skies.' Chris Evans Says It's ‘Sad' Not to Be ‘Invited to the Party' For ‘Avengers: Doomsday': ‘It's Going to Be Much Harder When It Comes Out'

Chris Evans is bummed he is missing out on all the fun in 'Avengers: Doomsday.' In a recent conversation with ScreenRant, Evans, who played Captain America across eight MCU films, was asked if he still stays in contact with his former Marvel collaborators, considering his exclusion from the highly anticipated 'Avengers: Doomsday.' Evans confirmed that they all keep in touch, but added it feels different having exited the franchise in 'Avengers: Endgame.' 'It's where Pedro [Pascal] is right now. I mean, it's sad to be away. It's sad to not be back with the band, but I'm sure they're doing something incredible, and I'm sure it's going to be that much harder when it comes out, and you feel like you weren't invited to the party.' In 'End Game,' Evans' Captain America ages out of the star-spangled shield after traveling back in time to return the Infinity Stones. He decides to stay in the past with his true love, Peggy Carter, and in the present day, passes the Captain America moniker to Anthony Mackie's Sam Wilson. While Evans is staying behind, his 'Avengers' co-stars Chris Hemsworth and Robert Downey Jr. are returning for 'Doomsday.' Hemsworth will return as Thor, but Downey will come back as the titular super villain Doctor Doom, instead of Iron Man. Other familiar MCU faces returning for 'Doomsday' include Sebastian Stan as the Winter Soldier; Paul Rudd as Ant-Man; Tom Hiddleston as Loki; Letitia Wright as Shuri and Mackie as Captain America. While originally set for release on May 1, 2026, 'Doomsday' was recently delayed to Dec. 18, 2026. Its sequel, 'Avengers: Secret Wars,' was also pushed. First slated to premiere on May 7, 2027, the film will now hit theaters Dec. 17, 2027. Father-daughter duo from Feeding Hills share their passion of music

FEEDING HILLS, Mass. (WWLP) – A dad and his daughter from Feeding Hills are sharing their passion ahead of Father's Day. This local father and daughter are singers, songwriters, and guitarists. But it all started when Dad realized that twins on the way meant more time around family. 'I don't know what I was thinking, but when Natalie and her identical twin were born in 1992, I quit my day job, so to speak, and became a full-time musician,' said Gary Jones. Girl Scouts donate nearly 14,000 boxes of cookies at Barnes Air National Guard Base 'Family is the best,' said Natalie Jones, Gary's daughter. 'I absolutely feel so blessed to be able to work with my dad every day.' A father-daughter duo living out their dream together, Gary and Natalie perform hits and classics alongside each other. Growing up, Natalie watched her dad perform, and just a few years into her social work career, she decided to make a shift. 'COVID really hit in 2020, and that is when my job shifted a lot,' Natalie said. 'And I was feeling burnt out, and Dad was like, 'Come join me, let's see.'' Gary says Natalie brought a contemporary style to the stage, a piece that he was missing. Both father and daughter have never taken a music class, but it's the passion that has guided them, even during disagreements. 'I think that the biggest issue that we sometimes have is who is going to sing the lead and who is going to sing the harmony,' Gary said. 'Like when he wants to play a song or add a song into the set list and I'm like really not feeling it,' Natalie added. From a young age, it's always been the twins, their dad, and music. 'My dad had to push his name out there and kind of scrape to get those calls in the very beginning,' Natalie said. 'He just let me swoop in and he took me under his wing as a mentor.' Now Natalie and Gary say you would be surprised how easy it is to perform together. The family dynamic allows their voices to blend well, and they say not to be afraid to take that leap of faith if you aren't doing what you love.
