$22K in steroids, cocaine, fentanyl, weapons seized in Fort Saskatchewan

Mounties say they have seized $22,000 in illegal drugs and weapons after responding to a complaint of a suspicious individual in Fort Saskatchewan on Thursday.
A statement from RCMP said officers found a heavily intoxicated man in a vehicle at a local restaurant.
Officers established grounds to arrest the man for possession of fentanyl. The man resisted arrest and assaulted police. He was then tased.
A large amount of cash was seized along with six vials of steroids, 55 millilitres of GHB, 28 grams of cocaine, 87 grams of fentanyl and a large quantity of weapons, amounting to a street value of about $22,000.
The 35-year-old man with no fixed address faces eight charges including possession for the purpose of trafficking, assaulting an officer and resisting arrest.
He was held for a judicial hearing and then was remanded into custody.

He also received a three-year hunting licence suspension. The charges stem from an October 2023 incident in Sargeant Township near the Ontario-Quebec border. Conservation officers responded to a tip submitted to the Ministry of Natural Resources TIPS line and found a shot and abandoned cow moose. The Ontario Court of Justice heard how a lengthy investigation involving the ministry's canine unit, multiple interviews, and the execution of a search warrant at Thibeault's residence was carried out following the tip. Justice of the Peace Estelle Bérubé presided over the case, which was heard in Cochrane on March 4. In the bulletin, ministry officials said, 'The Ontario government is safeguarding moose populations by ensuring hunters follow the rules when hunting.' Woman charged after hitting Waterloo building

Police are investigating after a vehicle crashed into a grocery store in a commercial plaza on Laurelwood Drive in Waterloo Saturday afternoon. Waterloo Regional Police have charged a driver from Wellesley Township after a vehicle struck a building in Waterloo. It happened around 2 p.m. Saturday. Emergency services were called to a collision in the area of Laurelwood Drive and Erbsville Road. 'A Toyota RAV4 drove into the side of a business, causing extensive damage to the building,' said police in a media release. 'The driver sustained minor physical injuries.' The driver of the Toyota, a 58-year-old woman, was charged with dangerous operation.
