Macdonald Bridge will be closed to vehicles for part of Sunday
The closure begins at 7 a.m. and ends at 5 p.m.
The bridge will remain open to cyclists and pedestrians. At 2 p.m., the pedestrian walkway will be closed and pedestrians will be able to use the bridge deck to cross. Cyclists will be able to use the bicycle lane as usual.
Halifax Harbour Bridges said in a news release thousands of people participate in the bridge walk to take in views, enjoy live entertainment and see displays from community groups and organizations. It said more than 30 groups are participating in the free, family-friendly event.
The entertainment this year includes performances from the Stadacona Band, City of Lakes Chorus and John Alphonse Band as well as a wrestling show by Kaizen Pro Wrestling.
Attendees will also have a chance to get a close-up look at antique and modern fire trucks, a military vehicle, a Halifax Transit electric bus and some vehicles from the bridge commission's fleet. The Philae Shriners will also be driving around the bridge on their tiny cars.

York Regional Police said they were called to that area at 7 p.m. for reports of collision involving a motorcycle and a car. Investigators said both vehicle were travelling southbound on Fossil Hill at the time of impact. It is not known at this time how the vehicles came together or who caused the crash. Police said the driver of the car did not remain on scene. Traffic is closed in all directions in that area due to the investigation. Motorists should expect delays and use alternate route, police said.

Vehicle flips on to another vehicle in Highway 404 collision, no serious injuries reported
No one was seriously injured in a collision on northbound Highway 404 Woodbine/Steeles off-ramp late Sunday afternoon. (Supplied) No one was seriously injured in a collision on northbound Highway 404 late Sunday afternoon. The multi-vehicle crash happened on the Woodbine/Steeles off-ramp. Toronto police said they received a call just after 4 p.m. for reports of a vehicle that had flipped on to another vehicle. A media officer from Toronto Police Service told CTV News Toronto that all parties were removed from their vehicles with the help of Toronto Fire, and 'thankfully, there were only minor injuries reported.' It appears all of the involved parties remained on scene, they said. Toronto fire also attended the scene. Firefighters extricate person from vehicle after 3-vehicle crash on Carling Ave.
An Ottawa Fire Services investigation vehicle at the scene of a fire. (CTV News Ottawa) Firefighters extricated a person who was trapped inside their vehicle after a crash in Ottawa's west end Sunday afternoon. A news release from Ottawa Fire Services says crews received a call from police reporting a crash in the 3000 block of Carling Avenue at approximately 4:44 p.m. On arrival, fire crews found three cars were involved with one person requiring extrication. Firefighters stabilized the vehicle and used specialized tools to safety remove the trapped occupant in approximately five minutes. The occupant's injuries remain unclear. Ottawa police have closed Carling Avenue between Moodie Drive and Ullswater Drive as an investigation continues. The public is asked to avoid the area.
