US President Donald Trump's long-anticipated 'Trump Card", which offers foreigners permanent US residency after paying USD 5 million to the government, is now open for business.
Announcing the big news on Truth Social, Trump wrote that for five million dollars, individuals can gain access to what it calls 'The Trump Card".
The US President described this card as a gateway to the 'greatest country and market anywhere in the world". Trump posted a link to the waiting list in his post, which takes users to a page titled 'Trump Card – Pathway to Citizenship official waitlist".
The page invites those interested in the $US5 million ($7.68 million) US citizenship card to enter their name, country of origin, whether they are an individual or a business, and their email address.
The card, also known as the 'Golden Card" was first unveiled by Trump in April.
Why The Trump Card?
Earlier, Donald Trump mentioned that he wants 'productive" people to come to the US and help the country pay off its debt. He also wants those people buying gold cards to create jobs for Americans.
'We want people who are productive people and I will tell you that the people who can pay USD 5 million they're going to create jobs. They're going to spend a lot of money on jobs. They're going to have to pay taxes on that too so they're going to be hiring people, they're going to be bringing people in and companies in," Donald Trump had said.

How India and US can find a way to ride out a 'perfect storm'
How India and US can find a way to ride out a 'perfect storm' Sachin Parasher TNN Aug 12, 2025, 12:14 IST There's too much at stake for both to jeopardise a relationship that's important for global growth, India's development and US' own interests US President Donald Trump's vicious targeting of India over trade, coupled with his bizarre courting of Pakistan, marks a dramatic fall in the India-US relationship from the heady days of the nuclear understanding both sides reached in 2005, ending decades of technology denial to India and boosting its energy security, while allowing it to retain a credible minimum deterrent. Bipartisan support ensured that this understanding that culminated in the nuclear deal – signalling India's arrival as a global player just when China's coercive actions were creating ripples in the West – stayed its course. There have been minor blips like the standoff over the strip search of an Indian diplomat in 2013 and the recent spat over a murder-for-hire plot involving Indian government agents but the overall trajectory of the relationship remained unaffected.

US designates Balochistan Liberation Army and Majeed Brigade as Foreign Terrorist Organizations
The United States, on Monday (Aug 11), officially designated the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) and its alias, The Majeed Brigade, as Foreign Terrorist Organisations (FTOs). BLA was designated as a Specially Designated Global Terrorist (SDGT) in 2019 following numerous terrorist attacks. Since then, BLA has claimed responsibility for additional attacks, including by the Majeed Brigade, the US State Department said in a statement. It said that the move reflects 'the Trump Administration's commitment to countering terrorism'. 'Terrorist designations play a critical role in our fight against this scourge and are an effective way to curtail support for terrorist activities,' the statement said. 'Today's actions are taken pursuant to section 219 of the Immigration and Nationality Act, as amended, and Executive Order 13224, as amended. FTO designations go into effect upon publication in the Federal Register,' it added. In 2024, BLA asserted involvement in suicide bombings near Karachi airport and the Gwadar Port Authority Complex. Most recently, in March 2025, the BLA claimed responsibility for hijacking the Jaffar Express train travelling from Quetta to Peshawar, killing 31 civilians and security personnel and holding hostage over 300 train passengers. Last month, the US Department of State designated The Resistance Front (TRF) as a designated Foreign Terrorist Organization (FTO) and Specially Designated Global Terrorist (SDGT). TRF, a proxy outfit of the Lashkar-e-Taiba, had claimed responsibility of the brutal April 22 Pahalgam terror attack in India, which killed 26 people, including tourists. 'TRF and other associated aliases have been added to LeT's designation as a FTO and SDGT pursuant to section 219 of the Immigration and Nationality Act and Executive Order 13224, respectively. The Department of State has also reviewed and maintained the FTO designation of LeT. Amendments to FTO designations go into effect upon publication in the Federal Register,' the state department said in a statement.
