Minorities denounce India's warmongering

The Sikh, Hindu, and Christian communities living in the metropolitan city have condemned India's allegations regarding the Pahalgam attack, asserting that the Modi government is responsible for the killing of tourists.
Leaders from these minority communities stressed that minorities in India remain vulnerable and unsafe, while in Pakistan, minorities enjoy full religious freedom and protection.
Speaking to The Express Tribune during a visit to Narayanpura in the Ranchore Line area-an historic settlement known for its interfaith harmony-minority leaders unanimously rejected India's accusations and reiterated their unwavering support for Pakistan.
Kishore Chauhan, a Hindu social worker and long-time resident of Narayanpura, explained that the compound, home to Hindu, Sikh, and Christian communities for over a century, fosters religious coexistence, with temples, churches, and gurdwaras situated side by side. He highlighted the community's strong unity under the Pakistani flag.
Deepak Ramesh, a Hindu community leader, criticized the Modi government, stating that since Modi came to power, minorities in India have faced severe oppression. He called the Pahalgam incident a "fabricated drama" intended to malign Pakistan but noted that the plan has backfired, as dissent against Modi's administration grows even within India.
Waseem Singh, a Sikh leader, emphasized that Sikhs in Pakistan experience complete religious freedom, pointing to the respectful treatment of Sikh pilgrims and the security of their gurdwaras. He warned that any aggression by India against Pakistan would come at a heavy cost, and alleged that India, not Pakistan, had violated the Indus Waters Treaty through its actions.
Sandeep Singh, another Sikh community member, echoed these sentiments, dismissing Indian media allegations against Pakistan as baseless. He affirmed the Sikh community's loyalty to Pakistan and revealed that special prayers for national safety were being held in gurdwaras.
Hindu resident Mukesh Solangi stressed that Hindus in Pakistan regularly pray for the country's security and expressed confidence in the Pakistan Army's capability to defend the homeland against any Indian aggression.
Christian residents of Narayanpura also voiced their firm support. Shamshad Masih and Kenk Javed both condemned India's narrative and labeled the Pahalgam incident a staged drama. Shehzad Gill, a young Christian from the area, stated that daily prayers are offered for Pakistan's integrity and safety.
Young women from the Hindu community-Rina, Disha, and Pervi-affirmed their belief in the strength of Pakistan's military, while Ajeet Kaur, a Sikh woman, warned India to recall its past defeats in wars against Pakistan before contemplating any new hostile actions. She stressed that women from all minority groups stand shoulder to shoulder with the Pakistan Army.
During the visit, slogans were raised in support of the Pakistan Army, and special prayers were offered across temples, churches, and gurdwaras for the country's prosperity and peace. The minority communities reiterated their unity under the Pakistani flag and urged the international community to restrain India's aggressive posture toward Pakistan.

He once again called on PTI and all political parties to come together for the country's betterment and agree on the Charter of Economy, just as the entire nation had shown unity and consensus between May 6 and May 10. He stressed that politics can wait — what's most important is fixing the economy, especially since 240 million Pakistanis are struggling with inflation and economic pressures. He appealed to opposition leaders to accept the Prime Minister's invitation and agree on the formation of a neutral Election Commission so that the next general elections are free and fair, leaving no room for objection. The adviser said that Pakistan has earned respect and recognition at the global level — countries that once distanced themselves are now compelled to listen. He warned that if political leaders continue to prioritise personal or group interests, it will go against national interest. He urged the public to put pressure on political parties to put the nation first. Commenting on PTI's protest movement, Rana Sanaullah said the movement is ineffective because the party lacks both preparation and public support. He further criticised Imran Khan, saying that if the former Prime Minister ties his release to the country's economic progress, it would be an injustice to the nation. Speaking on India's intentions, he responded to a question saying that the Modi government is following the RSS's extremist agenda and is hostile toward both Pakistan and Muslims. He added that while the military has fulfilled its duties, it is now the responsibility of the political leadership to unite for national development. He confirmed that these elections will be held on a party basis. Sanaullah also said that the Punjab government is working on welfare schemes such as the Kisan Card, Mazdoor Card, and Mazoor Card to improve the quality of life for ordinary citizens. He concluded by noting that major national projects, including Pakistan's nuclear tests, were completed during PML-N's tenure, and that Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz is now stepping forward with a new vision of public service.

COAS celebrates Eid with troops at LoC, reaffirms unwavering support for Kashmir cause
Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), visited forward positions along the Line of Control (LoC) on Saturday to celebrate Eid-ul-Adha with frontline troops, the military's media wing said. According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the visit began with Eid prayers, where special prayers were offered for the country's peace, stability, and prosperity, as well as for the martyrs who laid down their lives in defence of the motherland. Extending Eid greetings to officers and soldiers, the COAS lauded their unwavering commitment, professional excellence, and dedication despite persistent challenges. He stated that celebrating Eid at the frontlines, away from families, reflects the higher national purpose of safeguarding the country. The Army Chief praised the formation's performance during Marqa-e-Haq and Operation Bunyaanum Marsoos, paying tribute to the martyrs and Ghazis. 'You have befittingly avenged the loss of innocent Pakistani lives, including children, women, and the elderly, through your bold and effective response,' he said. While interacting with the troops, COAS Munir appreciated their high morale, operational preparedness, and vigilance in countering ceasefire violations by Indian forces. He reiterated full confidence in the armed forces' ability to deter and defeat any aggression. Reaffirming Pakistan's principled position on the Kashmir dispute, the COAS said the just and valiant struggle of the Kashmiri people against Indian occupation would not be forgotten. He stressed the importance of resolving the Jammu and Kashmir issue in line with the aspirations of the Kashmiri people and relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions. India hails trade deal in talks with visiting British FM
NEW DELHI: Indian Foreign Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar said on Saturday a trade deal with Britain was 'truly a milestone' that will boost bilateral ties as he welcomed his counterpart David Lammy to New Delhi. India and Britain struck a long-delayed free trade agreement last month after negotiations were relaunched in February. Britain has sought to bolster trade ties across the world since it left the European Union under Brexit, a need that became more pressing after the United States unleashed a global tariff blitz that risks causing weaker economic growth. 'The recent conclusion of the India-UK FTA… is truly a milestone which will not only propel our two-way trade and investment but will also have a positive effect on other strategic aspects of our bilateral ties,' Jaishankar said after meeting Lammy, who is on a two-day visit. Lammy says UK, US working to ensure enduring Pakistan, India ceasefire, dialogue 'It would also contribute to the strengthening of supply and value chains,' he said. The accord will slash tariffs on imports of UK goods into India, including whisky, cosmetics and medical devices. In exchange, Britain will cut tariffs on imports of clothes, footwear and food products, including frozen prawns, from India. Britain and India are the sixth- and fifth-largest global economies respectively, with a trade relationship worth around 41 billion pounds ($54.8 billion) and investment supporting more than 600,000 jobs across both countries. They hope the free-trade agreement will increase trade between them by about 25.5 billion pounds, as well as boost the British economy and wages. Talks were relaunched in February after stalling under Britain's previous Conservative administrations. Lammy said before his visit the deal with India was 'just the start of our ambitions'.
