RM8 Mln CBT Trial Of Vivy Yusof, Husband To Begin On April 13, 2026
Judge Rosli Ahmad set the trial dates for April 13 to 17, May 18 to 22, and June 8 to 12, 2026.
'The trial will run for 15 days, and the court has set the next case mention for Oct 27,' said Rosli.
Earlier, Deputy Public Prosecutor Datuk Wan Shaharuddin Wan Ladin requested the court fix the trial dates agreed upon by both the prosecution and defence. Lawyer M. Athimulan is representing the couple.
Wan Shaharuddin told the court that the prosecution will call 26 witnesses to testify.
The accused, both 37, were not present in court today as their attendance had been exempted.
On Dec 5 last year, Vivy and Fadzarudin pleaded not guilty to a charge of committing CBT in their capacity as directors of FashionValet Sdn Bhd. They were accused of misappropriating investment funds entrusted to them by Khazanah and PNB by transferring RM8 million from FashionValet Sdn Bhd's company account to 30 Maple Sdn Bhd without the approval of FashionValet's board of directors.
The offence was allegedly committed at Public Bank Berhad, Bukit Damansara Branch, 36-40 Medan Setia 2, Plaza Damansara, Bukit Damansara, here, on Aug 21, 2018.
The charge, framed under Section 409 of the Penal Code, read together with Section 34 of the same Code, provides for a minimum sentence of two years and a maximum of 20 years in jail, whipping, and a fine upon conviction.

"With a gross floor area of 667,361.8 sq ft, IJM Construction will deliver the full civil and structural works using a pre-cast system, columns, beams and hollow core slabs, supported by steel structures for mechanical and electrical plant installations,' it said. This latest win adds RM1.4 billion to IJM Construction's order book, boosting it to RM9.2 billion from RM7.6 billion as at March 31, 2025. Man arrested for setting fire to family home in Kedah
SUNGAI PETANI: A 39-year-old man has been arrested for setting fire to his family home in Sungai Lalang, Bedong, yesterday. The incident also destroyed a neighbouring house. Kuala Muda police chief Assistant Commissioner Hanyan Ramlan said the suspect, the complainant's younger brother, was detained shortly after the fire. "Initial investigations found that the suspect admitted to starting the blaze by lighting pieces of paper with a lighter inside the house. "The incident followed a quarrel, and the suspect went on a rampage before setting the fire," he said in a statement today. Hanyan said the suspect and the complainant lived in the wooden-and-brick house with another sibling. "No drugs or prohibited substances were found during checks. The suspect's urine test returned negative and he had no history of mental illness," he added. The case is being investigated under Section 436 of the Penal Code for mischief by fire, which carries a maximum penalty of 20 years' imprisonment and a fine. Earlier, firefighters rescued a man during the 7.52pm incident. Kedah Fire and Rescue Department Zone 2 chief Senior Fire Superintendent II Mohd Naim Mat Jaafar said the fire destroyed two houses before it was brought under control.

Lorry driver arrested for reckless driving in Nibong Tebal
NIBONG TEBAL: Police have arrested a tipper lorry driver for obstructing a civil servant and reckless driving. The incident occurred at Jalan Sungai Daun two days ago. Seberang Perai Selatan police chief Supt Jay January Siowou confirmed the arrest. A traffic enforcement team spotted two suspicious tipper lorries during an operation near Jawi Toll Plaza. The lorries refused to stop when ordered by police. One vehicle ran a red light at Bukit Panchor and nearly hit an officer. The driver sped dangerously towards Jalan Transkrian before being apprehended. Patrol cars and motorcycle units assisted in the arrest at Jalan Sungai Duan. Investigations revealed the driver had no valid licence or Goods Vehicle Licence. The lorry's road tax had also expired. Authorities sealed the vehicle for further investigation. The case is being probed under Section 186 of the Penal Code for obstructing duties. Section 279 of the Penal Code and Section 42(1) of the Road Transport Act also apply. - Bernama
