Bhavishya portal clears 83 pc Pension Payment Orders in time
New Delhi: At least 83 per cent Pension Payment Orders (PPOs) in superannuation cases of Central Government employees were issued on time in April this year, reflecting the efficiency of the Bhavishya online portal in tracking pension sanction and payment process, according to the official monthly report released on Tuesday.
The report also stated that 61 per cent of pensioners' grievances received on the CPENGRAMS portal have been resolved within a month.
The Centre launched the portal to bring transparency in the redressal process for retired government employees.
As of April 30, Bhavishya is operational in the main Secretariat of 99 Ministries/Departments/Apex Bodies and 1034 attached offices through 9,406 DDOs. A mobile application has also been launched on the Umang platform through which stakeholders can access Bhavishya.
Form 6-A, containing erstwhile 9 Forms/Formats, has revolutionised the processing of pension papers, and a total of 20,003 retiring officials have submitted new Form 6-A in the Bhavishya Portal. This has helped to ensure the PPOs in the superannuation cases are issued on time.
For the 17th month in a row, more than 7,000 grievances have been redressed on the CPENGRAMS portal.
In April, 8,396 pension cases were received on the portal, while 10,200 cases were redressed.
Only 5 per cent of grievances are pending for redressal after three months. The pendency of grievances has markedly decreased from 11,817 grievances at the end of March 2025 to 10,179 grievances at the end of April 2025, the report added.
The monthly report on Central Ministries/ Departments with the focus on the performance on Bhavishya and CPENGRAMS for April was released by the Department of Pension and Pensioners' Welfare.
The Government has accorded the highest priority to the welfare of Central Government Pensioners through digital empowerment.
Bhavishya, an online portal for online tracking of pension sanction and payment process, has ensured the timely issue of PPOs to the retiring employees, while the CPENGRAMS portal brings transparency in the redressal process with the quality resolution of pensioners' grievances, the official statement added.

Govt aims to turn India into food basket of the world
Union Agriculture Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan announced that the Centre has set a goal of turning India into the food basket of the world. Addressing farmers at the ICAR-IIHR campus in Hessarghatta in Bengaluru city outskirts, as part of the Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan, the Minister indicated that the Centre is looking beyond feeding the 145 crore people of India. The Union Government would collaborate with State Governments, agricultural universities, Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs), farmers, and scientists to draw a comprehensive roadmap to achieve this goal. He said the Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan initiative was aligned with the Prime Minister's vision of a Viksit Bharat (developed India) by 2047. The campaign has a motto of ensuring development of agriculture sector in the country, he explained. As part of this, the 'Lab to Land' initiative has been launched, involving over 16,000 scientists who are engaging with farmers across the country to provide scientific knowledge and support. 'Over the last 10 days, 1,896 teams have interacted with about 9 lakh farmers across 8,188 villages,' he said. In Karnataka alone, more than 70 interdisciplinary teams comprising scientists and officials from agriculture and allied departments were visiting farms daily under this programme, the Minister said. These teams were recording feedback directly from farmers to shape need-based, problem-oriented agricultural research programmes. So far, 639 teams have visited 2,495 villages, engaging with 2,77,264 farmers in Karnataka, he said. He said the Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan envisioned 'One Nation, One Agriculture, One Team'. To ensure farmers receive fair prices for their produce, the Centre would bear transportation cost of agricultural produce under the Market Intervention Scheme (MIS), he said. During the event, the Minister felicitated seven outstanding farmers from Karnataka — Ratnamma, Gopal Gowda, Padmini Gowda, H.K. Raghu, Mangalamma, Mahesh H.N., and Sreenivas — for their significant contribution to agriculture.

NEW DELHI: Chief minister Rekha Gupta said on Sunday that the national capital was reaping the benefits of the double-engine govt as the Centre had approved a plan for a 5-km tunnel that is expected to balance traffic between south Delhi and NCR. The tunnel, from Shiv Murti-Mahipalpur (Dwarka expressway) to Nelson Mandela Road (Vasant Kunj), will reduce congestion on multiple routes and create a signal-free corridor. The CM said that after a recent meeting with Union minister Nitin Gadkari, projects worth Rs 24,000 crore that are aimed at streamlining traffic and reducing pollution in Delhi and its adjoining areas, were approved. Among them is the 5-kilometre tunnel, which will be constructed by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) at an estimated cost of Rs 3,500 crore. The tunnel will have two underground tubes - one each for up and down traffic. Each tube will have three lanes. The tunnel will also have electro-mechanical systems, ventilation, fire safety, CCTV surveillance, control rooms, emergency exits and cross-passages. South Delhi MP Ramvir Singh Bidhuri said that the tunnel will be a blessing for people in the area as it will offer a direct, signal-free atlernative between south Delhi, Dwarka and Gurgaon. The tunnel is expected to help in eliminating traffic jams on NH-48 during peak hours. This will lead to smoother traffic across these routes and a significant reduction in pollution levels, he added. The chief minister said that all technical and formal requirements for the project are in their final stages, and work is expected to start early next year. Calling this project the "foundation for the Delhi of the future," Gupta said that the tunnel will give a new direction to Delhi's infrastructure and bring relief to millions. Unused subsidies meant for e-rickshaws may be diverted to cargo e3Ws
New Delhi : The Centre is likely to tweak the PM E-DRIVE scheme to subsidise more cargo electric three wheelers (L-5 e3w). According to officials aware of the move, L-5 e3w sales have far exceeded expectations, leading to existing allocation running out in a few weeks. "Sale of eligible e-rickshaws and e-carts have lagged. Subsidies earmarked for them will be used for L-5 e3w where strong demand is being registered," a senior official told ET. The ministry of heavy industries currently offers an incentive of ₹2,500 per kWh for domestically manufactured electric two-and three-wheelers registered on and after April 1, 2025. These sops are available till March 2026, or until the subsidy runs out. These demand incentives are under the ₹10,900 crore-PM E-DRIVE scheme, which also has allocations for electric buses, charging stations, and testing agencies upgradation, among others. The scheme approved in September 2024 earmarked ₹715 crore subsidy for 2,05,392 cargo e3w. Another ₹192 crore was allocated for subsidising 1,10,596 e-rickshaws and e-carts. At 155,085 units, more than 75per cent of the target for the sale of L5-e3w has already been achieved by May 2025-end. But the e-rickshaw and e-cart category has grossly underperformed the other segments, achieving just 2per cent of the scheme target at 2,736 units. Under the electric two-wheeler category, 1,198,707 units have been sold, meeting 48per cent of the scheme target. ET reported in November 2024 that cargo e-3w sales were zooming, causing the fiscal 2024-25 target to be achieved in a few weeks of the scheme's launch. This prompted the centre to amend scheme guidelines, allowing continued subsidies but lowered per unit incentive and tapping into allocations made for fiscal 2025-26.
