According to a report by 123Telugu, Kannappa starring Vishnu Manchu is slated to release on the OTT platform Amazon Prime Video on July 25, 2025. If the report turns out to be true, the film will be making its way to the digital platform just a month after theatrical release.
However, an official confirmation on Kannappa's OTT release is yet to be made by the makers or the streaming platform. Ahead of Kannappa's release, Vishnu Manchu had revealed how he did not finalize an OTT deal before the release of the movie.
Talking to the press, the actor said, 'I have a very large freedom as my movie will not come to OTT before 10 weeks. That is the deal I have and by god's grace, I don't have a release pressure. My only intention is to showcase the best to the audience.'

Kannappa features the tale of Thinnadu, a young and fierce tribal hunter who is an atheist. However, on a fateful day, the man discovers a Shiva Lingam in the forest and makes offerings to the idol to the best of his ability.
The film focuses on how the man evolves to become the biggest devotee of Lord Shiva from Hindu mythology. The legend of Kannappa is based on texts from mythology, with references to the man being a saint.

The team secured proper permission from the sub-divisional officer (SDO) for filming. During the shoot, the crew reportedly stayed at Jamb, a village near Hinganghat, 25 km from the location. Belagavi: As Ganesh Chaturthi approaches on August 27, Ganesh Utsav Mandals across Belagavi are busy preparing to install towering idols of Lord Ganesh, some reaching an impressive height of 25 to 30 feet. These idols, crafted around various themes ranging from Hindu mythology to social awareness messages, promise to be a spectacular visual treat for trend of installing huge and elaborately themed Ganesh idols has gained momentum in Belagavi over the past two decades, inspired by similar celebrations in Mumbai where colossal idols have long been a highlight. Initially started by a few mandals, the practice has now been widely embraced, with numerous mandals competing to present unique and awe-inspiring to DH, idol maker Vinayak Patil of Manohar Patil Art Studio said that their studio alone is producing over 150 large idols this year. 'For the past four months, we have been meticulously working on the various themes assigned by the mandals. Some themes involve multiple idols presented together, and due to the large sizes and complexity, many idols are being crafted directly on trolleys to ease transportation and setup,' he added that while the idol-making phase is complete, painting and decorating are underway to ensure the final displays are vibrant and captivating. Many Ganesh Utsav Mandals have already begun transporting their idols to pandals ahead of the festival to finalise ensure smooth and joyous celebrations, Police Commissioner Bhushan Borase has conducted meetings with the Ganesh Utsav Mandals, emphasising adherence to safety and festival guidelines. A single-window system for all permissions has been set up at police stations citywide to streamline the approval process for preparations in full swing, Belagavi is set to welcome Ganesh Chaturthi with grandeur, creativity, and devotion this year.
